It has been a joy to meet so many impressive people and learn about their cultures. And we love laughter and sharing our kiwi culture with visitors.

We live in a house truck, and share our land with friendly milking sheep, a house cow and calf, a goat, pet pigs in the orchard, ducks, rooster, a retired hen, a dog and a cat. So our place would suit people who love animals.
Accomodation is basic with the choice of either a Bedford house bus or a 10m2 sleep-out or a house truck. We have a composting toilet system, an outdoor shower that works some of the time and a fire heated outdoor bath. It's a bit rough here, so would suit someone happy with an outdoor camping lifestyle.
There is Wifi, electricity and town supply water (we prefer the rain water for drinking). We are a few km from the beach, the river and a few km from the main highway (SH1). Shops are within walking distance (about 10min). You can borrow a bicycle if you would like to explore Otaki or follow the river cycle path to the beach. Wellington city is about 1hrs drive away.
Work is mostly outdoors. There are gumboots, overalls and a raincoat you can borrow. Some o... more inside

We are a family of four living our dream on a beautiful farm that is only 25 minutes away from Wellington City. There are lots of beautiful walks around the farm. The wind farm is our neighbor so also offers lots of walks. Most days you can see the South Island from the end of our road. Makara beach is a 5 minute drive from the farm. The farm is very peaceful. We are needing help with housework, gardening and cooking. We have been on the farm 5 years. We have lots of animals 3 dogs,2 cats, chickens and pet sheep so you will need to like animals :) I sometimes foster kittens and we have baby lambs in spring that need looking after. We are 30 minutes from Wellington City. You will need your own transport as there is no buses to our farm but if you don't have a car you can get a lift into town with family when they go in. We offer board, food and Wifi at the house for 4 hours work. You will have a cabin that ha... more inside

Hi there, we will be open to host Helpx again from 20 October 2018. we offer space for a couple. We have a large garden and outbuildings so we need mainly help with the garden. We live on 2 acres overlooking the countryside and the Tararua hills. We are walking distance to the beautiful heritage village of Greytown (recently won the title of most beautiful village in NZ) with its cafes and shops. But to get further than the village you will need a car or van as public transport is very limited. The Pinnacles and Rivendell (both featured in LoTR) are with one hour`s drive. We are also a short drive from Mt Bruce with its Kiwi house and white Kiwi. We have two friendly dogs and a friendly cat. It`s a 55 minute drive to Wellington CBD and a one hour train ride.

You would have either a self-contained cottage in our garden or our spare bedroom, with Queen Bed depending on homestay bookings - our paying guests get priority for the cottage! The work is mainly gardening and cleani... more inside

Two-storey beach house 45 minutes north of Wellington.30 seconds walk to beach with
great views of Kapiti Island, Mana Island and the South Island. Great swimming and walking. Beautiful sunsets. A few minutes walk to Queen Elizabeth park and its great walking tracks with more spectacular views. I was on a farm prior to coming here which accounts for one or two of the older host reviews.
Accommodation is bottom-storey bedroom with bathroom next door. You will be working with one woman and two very friendly dogs.Three meals per day provided. Work could include gardening and landscaping, small renovation projects, cutting kindling and firewood, interior decorating, fence maintenance, assistance with art work and occasionally assisting with hanging art exhibitions.I am currently wanting help with cutting and stacking wood for which electric saws will be provided and with making some raised gardens. I take only one person at a time and do not take smokers.

We are a family living in Wellington with a big back yard that needs clearing and a vege garden. Hugh is an architect and I am a psychotherapist. We have 16 year old and 20 year old children and our granny lives in the front of our house, and we have a dog called locky. We have plenty of room for an individual or couple to stay and there is a bathroom for visitors. We love being cooked for especially different nationality dishes. We need help with our outdoors and sometimes we need help with dinner (busy at work). We are 10 mins from the centre of the city and we are on a bus route. We also have a block of land up the coast that we are gradually working on which if it suits eemsy ask for help with. We are on south coast so beautiful walks nearby.

The Purple Cabin is not AVAILABLE UNTIL NOVEMBER. Please get in touch if you would like to help us.

Paradise between the sea & the hills, in sunny Te Horo on the beautiful Kapiti Coast (see photo of Kapiti Island from Te Horo Beach).

We spent last winter building a comfortable place for you to stay (the purple cabin)... now come & help us get the rest of the property up to scratch.

We have cows, chooks, ducks & cats. Only small numbers and very easy to manage.

We grow as much food & meat as we can and enjoy a healthy outdoors life.

Come and help us with a few projects... paths and steps to put in, gardens to maintain, paddocks to fence and improve, and there are always jobs in the vege garden & orchards.

I make bread & cheese, bake amazing scones and cakes and would like to share recipes and learn from your culture.

We ask for five hours effort per day in return for staying at our place with great food, a warm bed and your own space. No smokers only.

Located in Avalon in Lower Hutt about 20 kms from central Wellington. With an easy walk to train, bus and local shops.

The house is fabulous but the garden needs some attention.

We have large organic vegetable gardens, an orchard, chickens and a friendly chocolate labrador.

Accommodation is a bunkhouse about 25 paces from the house with a small kitchen, shower and toilet.

We would like help outside to weed, mulch, prune, clean up, plant trees, mow lawns, and weedeat. Inside jobs could be to paint, clean, build or cook etc.

We enjoy having people stay and experience new things.

I have a charming, sunny, comfortable home with a lovely garden and a view over the harbour and mountains. It is very central, well connected to transport, with big parks and green belt very close.
In return for two hours work in the house and garden per day, I will provide free accommodation and breakfast. I speak fluent Spanish and can help with someone learning English.
I have a sociable lifestyle with many friends, and helpers are welcome to join in on some dinners. But I do need Helpxers who are independent too, since there will be times when I am very busy and not around much. If you're good at cleaning, gardening and doing small repairs around the house, that would be great. And I love good food, so good cooks are always welcome!
