UPDATE: We are currently looking for helpers (either one or 2 people) to start around 30 August. We ideally need helpers who are happy dealing with horses (bringing them in, changing covers, grooming, feeding, tacking up etc) as well as helping around the house and garden. If you are a proficient rider, you may be able to ride. We are also expecting a kaimanawa pony in the next few weeks, so if you are interested in handling young, wild ponies, then this is the place for you! You also need to like dogs.

It would be great if you had your own transport as the nearest shops (and bus stop)are 3km away (although we do have bikes if you are keen).

We have a lovely 11 acre block, close to Kumeu, 30 mins drive to Auckland City, and 15 mins drive to the beautiful Muriwai Beach. You are accommodated in a cottage with it`s own modern bathroom and there is plenty of room in the house to relax privately, though we welcome your company!

We have 3 horses (one retired), a cat and 3 do... more inside

We are a family run Miniature Horse stud in Auckland, New Zealand.  We are close to beaches, regional parks, bush walks, shopping centres, restaurants etc (although no public transport available - so you either need your own transport or be willing to go out when we can take you).

We are looking for someone with some previous horse experience (experience foaling horses and/or showing horses would be great, but minimum experience must be able to confidentially handle horses including stallions and willing to learn).

The help would depend on the experience of the helper, but may include feeding horses, grooming horses, mucking out paddocks, pens and stables, training horses, helping at shows in and out of Auckland. This would be about 3-4 hours per day, more when we have shows. Help would be in exchange for full board - accommodation, meals, laundry and wireless internet.

We will consider short or longer term and we can take someone immediately.

I have had loads of Help-X in my previous property in Taupo (see www.Acaciabaylodge) I am presently living at my beach house at Omaha Beach and a big change from my large property in Taupo but what a lovely place this is with the most beautiful beach just down the bottom of my street which I walk every morning when I'm not playing golf - all of which I walk to. I share my home with my miniature schnauzer Baxter. My local town is Warkworth but nearer to me is the quaint little village of Matakana which is surrounded in vineyards & cafes & known particularly for it's very popular Saturday farmers market.
I am only interested in mature people who show initiative are gregarious and are willing to help in my small garden and useful in the kitchen. At the moment I am needing someone to help with some painting & cleaning decks. I would prefer helpers have their own transport.
In exchange for food & accommodation I expect a minimum of 4.5 hours work per day or you can work a full day th... more inside

I am preparing my sailing catamaran for south pacific voyaging and creating youtube videos. In the meantime I cruise the east coast of the North Island. Is there anyone out there who knows about graphics and website creation. Don't worry, you don't need to be an expert ,as I am sure we can figure things out together. I also need some help with a bit of boat cleaning. I really ,really, really love dolphins and often(but not always) encounter them on my trips. I am living aboard my boat for around 3 weeks a month. The other week I volunteer at the Antara Retreat(also on helpx). So depending when you come, your stay might involve some land and some boat time. Kind regards Brett

4 hours work for food , accom, and sailing when time allows...

We are undertaking renovations at the moment and need builders or plasterers!

Come and experience Leigh by the sea!

We have just brought our first house in the gorgeous seaside location of Leigh, on the very edge of the city. We are used to having woofers at our bigger organic family farm which is a short drive. We can walk to numerous surf locations, a marine reserve, and a very cool pub/restaurant. We have a sleepout which we are happy to let, fully furnished, to anyone who wishes to help out with vege garden building/section work/cleaning. 2 hours a day is fine for accomodation, dinner for another 2!
Todd is a landscaper and can also always do with a hand at work - any hours over the first 4 are paid.
Im Waldorf Homeschooling our two kids, if you have been to a steiner school, or love kids, or can teach us to knit or sing, come along!

Hi, we are a Kiwi/German family of four (with a 1 and a 5 year old) and with one dog, two cats, five ducks and a few chickens and a big backyard with plenty of work.
We live an hour north of Auckland in an attractive area with plenty of great (surf)beaches and weekend markets and happenings nearby (at least during summer). For example, the popular Matakana farmers and vintage market, Goat Island marine reserve, Tawharanui Regional Park and great restaurants, cafés and Leigh Sawmill cafe for gigs. All this and much more within a short drive from our house. From here is a good town to start exploring the far north of New Zealand, like Cape Reinga or the Bay of Islands.

We offer a newly renovated bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed and own bathroom and three meals a day. We also got wifi so you can stay connected.

In exchange we expect about 4 hours of work per night of stay and would like someone with a can-do attitude and some DIY skills to help us with some gardening ... more inside
