We are in the process of setting up 'glamping'accommodation and we are looking for someone to help us out during the busy months. The work would be mainly doing the laundry and making beds as well as helping out with pizza making in the evening. At the moment we are focusing on completing some building projects like an outdoor kitchen, shed, concreting and plastering. We also want to improve our vegetable garden and need to build raised beds and enclosures. The site is off grid but we have solar lights in the main bach (cottage). To get cell phone coverage you have to walk to the top of the hill.We now have the internet available,it can be purchased for a day or a week at a time. The property is regenerating native bush but has wilding pines and wattles that we are cutting out. The work available is mainly physical and will involve building, digging, clearing scrub and fallen trees etc. I am also using earth bags to build retaining walls. These need to be plastered. We get all day sun... more inside

We are on a high plateau across the valley from the Takaka Hill. We are surrounded by native bush and are fairly secluded. We are about a half hour from town.

We have developed the property to be self reliant, looking at an uncertain planetary future. Our water comes directly from the bush as the property backs up to the Kahurangi National park. We are on our own Micro Hydro, which gives us our electricity.
We have a large library, and plenty of peace and quiet.f

Work depends on the time of year, there are always many projects, roadworks , construction, animal care , gardening, tree care , bottling and drying food and all things pertaining to self sufficiency.

Kia ora!

Come to beautiful Golden Bay! Abel tasman, Farewell Spit, Waikoropupu Springs, are just some of the sights to see, plus we have stingrays, penguins and seals, oh my!

There's no public transport in the Bay so you'll need your own car.

We`d love for you to come and help us with our permaculture veg beds please! We are increasing our self-sufficeincy! There`s also a bit of easy weeding and some pruning/chipping also. Only a few weeks before spring begins and we have so much to do!

We have a neat WARM house with a small but very productive garden in the mild microclimate of Golden Bay.

Rurally situated with cows for neighbours, the Southern Cross and Milky Way are our streetlights. Only 4km from the beaches or Takaka, and you can drive right into Abel Tasman National Park in 20 minutes!

Come and help us become more self-sufficient while being treated like family! You`ll be working with us not for us.

You get to stay in our light and spacious guest room ... more inside
