We are a family (2 adults, 2 children 2yo, 5yo) who run a deer farm and beekeeping business based in Greta Valley.

We also have a business making beeswax wraps - beeswax wraps are a reusable natural food wrap which can be used as an alternative to plastic wrap.

We would like short term helpXers (1 or 2 people) to come and help us primarily with our beeswax wrap business - this involves assisting in the manufacturing and packing of beeswax wraps.

At certain times of the year we would also like assistance with gardening and farm activities.

In return for 4 hours work a day we will provide a great rural experience, accommodation and meals. Acccomodation is provided in the main house but upstairs seperate from the family.Wifi and cell coverage available.

Greta Valley is a great location to explore the Canterbury region - we are 20 minutes north of Amberley, 50 minutes north of Christchurh, 1 1/4 south of Kaikoura and 1 hour from Hanmer Springs.

We have a 160 acre farm located in Springfield, a small rural village in the foothills of the Southern Alps. The majority of our land is leased to a local farmer, however we have about 4 acres around the house where we are restoring native bush to the property. We would appreciate help with planting, weed control, mulching, wood splitting and other tasks around the property.

We can accommodate 2-3 people at a time. The type of work and the remote nature of the property means it is best suited to 2-3 people travelling together.

Accommodation is in a warm and cozy self contained 2 bedroom cottage. One bedroom has a King bed, the other has a Queen bed. There is a kitchenette with a small fridge and gas hobs and bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Our property is off-grid but comfortable with fast, unlimited wifi.

Our family is vegetarian/vegan so we can accommodate vegetarians or vegans, and those happy to eat this way during their stay. Please let us know other dietary req... more inside

We are a busy sporty family of 5. Due to sporting commitments we're away a lot so we could do with some help around the property such as weeding and tidying up the garden and sometimes a bit of housework or cooking/baking would be appreciated. We love trying food from around the world. We are mostly vegetarian.

I am looking for up to 2 people to help for 3/4 hours per day. Food is provided.

We are walking distance to shops and cafes and we are close to State Highway 1 so we can be reached by bus. We are located approx 35 mins drive from the CHCH CBD.

Hi!
I have a horse property in North Canterbury, Cheviot. I have three part arabian horses and love to go riding.

I need help with gardening, lawn mowing and work around the property. I am looking for an outgoing and easygoing person or couple who can help clear branches, weeding, assist with cleaning up. If you have farm or chainsaw experience I would love to hear from you. But gardening is great too!

I offer the use of the spare room in my house (queen size bed only). And I include wifi.

I like helpers to offer 5 hours a day, 5 days a week with all meals supplied. You will be working alone most days and you will need a car as I am about 10 mins drive from the township.

If you are a keen horse rider there may be the chance to ride. You will need to love dogs as my girl is very friendly!

Thanks for looking.

We are a home-schooling family with 8 children, 5 still at home, 4 of them school-age. Both parents came from Germany as backpackers, and met here, so our home language is German. Our lifestyle block is home to 2 goats, 4 geese (and 5 goslings), a flock of domestic ducks, between 30 and 40 hens, and of course many wild birds, rabbits and the tiny creatures of fields, woods and duck-pond. An old apple, apricot and peach orchard and a young walnut grove are also part of our little paradise. Amazingly, though situated just off SH1, our place affords a cosy sense of privacy, as it nestles behind an old pine-tree shelter belt and is lined with a row of poplar trees along the rest of its border. The township of Amberley is 5 min away by car or 1 hour by foot, where you can do all essential shopping, go to the bank, petrol station, gym, second hand shop or hairdresser. Rangiora, the next larger center of North Canterbury, is 20 min away, and central Christchurch 40 min.

Our property is 20 minutes from the centre of Christchurch. We are a busy working family and run a wholesale rose business from our property. Helpers stay in a warm and private cottage with one double bed, own bathroom and kitchen.

Food for breakfast/lunch is provided which you make in your own cottage, and dinner is shared with the family. We always appreciate a traditional meal (or anything else!) if you like to cook/bake.

Help needed is varied depending on the time of year. You will either be helping us in our rose nursery or general help around the property/house, just wherever we need an extra pair of hands! Our helpers typically help for about 4.5 hours a day, with one day off.

Hi there!

My partner Mitchell and I have two beautiful girls Issy (5 years old) and Zione (4 years old). We live on a dairy farm in Springfield, 45 minutes from Christchurch in the picturesque Canterbury foothills. This is 20 minutes to Porters ski field and Castle Hill.

We are looking for someone to help out for three hours a day for accommodation, food, internet. We also have paid work available for feeding calves in the afternoon if you were interested. Chores would include babysitting, feeding calves and farm jobs.

This would be a great opportunity for you to live with a friendly kiwi farming family and improve your English (if this is your second language). I lived in South Korea for four years as an English teacher so I'm happy to help out if you have questions.

We hope that you will remember your time on our farm and your kiwi family with fondness! We prefer if helpers can stay for a month, or if this is not possible at least a minimum of two weeks, as we w... more inside
