We are a sheep and beef farm with a few deer and goats. Mike works full time on the farm and his interests are Tennis, Squash, and making his own sausages and salamis. I work off farm and my interests are Tennis, Scrapbooking, Yoga etc and we have one 14 yr old child still living with us at home. Our home is up on a plateau at the base of the Takitimu Mountains, the scenery is what drew me to this part of Southland. We are very happy to be flexible with work hours to fit in with your sightseeing in the Fiordland area. It would be great if there are any helpers that would be interested in some gardening or stock work etc.

We live approximately 25 minutes from Te Anau and 12 mins from Manapouri, so any helpers will need their own vehicle. Te Anau is the gateway to Milford Sound and the Glowworm Caves and Manapouri is the gateway to Doubtful Sound, we are very happy to talk to travellers and help them with their plans. We can provide a bedroom with a double bed and shared ab... more inside

We live on a family owned sheep and cattle farm just 1 1/4 hours from Queenstown, 1 hour from Invercargill and Te Anau. We are not certified organic but take pride in sustainable and environmental farming practices with many areas of plantings, ponds and QEII covenants (retired land regenerating). We require help in our family home which would include an assortment of jobs about our property for example painting fences, planting trees and vegetable gardening. I teach yoga in my local community and you would be welcome to attend any of my classes if you were interested. We have self contained accommodation separate from our house with TV for you to stay in. We eat a very nutritous & healthy diet with Annabel being a former chef. We do include meat from our farm in our evening meals but understand if you prefer a vegeterian based diet. We would welcome helpers who are considerate and understand how to clear up, wash and fold clothes, do dishes and are tidy! We are happy to accept c... more inside

We live on a beautiful, sunny property in Riverton with views overlooking the estuary. We bought the property last and have plenty of visions to work towards but need some help to achieve them.

We are looking for a single person or a couple who has experience in, and enjoys, looking after small children and also likes working outside - planting natives, tending a large veg garden, weeding etc. You would be working mornings or afternoons, leaving the rest of the day to sightsee/chill out.

In return we will put you up in a gorgeous, fully functional caravan, complete with its own kitchen and wood-burner (so you will be warm and comfortable no matter what the weather). Wifi is available. We would prefer for you to cater for yourself in the caravan but are happy to buy your supplies! We can pick you up from Invercargill if you don't have your own transport.

We need someone for about 4 days ... please contact us if you're interested!

We have a small house with a huge backyard in Invercargill. We offer a homestay with 3 young adults. As a born and breed locally I have a wealth of knowledge about Southland to share with people travelling around the area/country. As for work in exchange for accommodation, some information and a meal or two we always have things to be done. The main task I require of people is helping in the massive job of renovating a 25ft gutted caravan to a tiny house I will eventually live in full time. We also have a large vegetable garden and lawn which as we work fulltime struggle to maintain. We also have a small zoo with 4 dogs, a rabbit and a cat which need love, attention, runs and playing with. Overall we are a bit of a crazy house but love to meet new people to add to the craziness for a bit.

My name is Craig. I'm a children's author and songwriter. I have a young daughter .

My holiday home is located 70km from the nearest shops {Manapori and Te Anau} in the far south western corner of the South Island. It's only a few km from fiordland national park and lake Monowai. 2 hours and 15 mins drive from Queenstown heading south west. My log cabin has 3 bedrooms, and lots of land. Because it's my holiday home I don't get to look after the land as much as I would like so I need some help to clear the land.

I am willing to supply accommodation (your own room) in the 3 bedroomed log cabin, 3 meals a day and all the local advice for walks etc in your down time in exchange for 4 hours of work per person per day.

Because of it's proximity to Fiordland national park some of the best and secluded walks and treks are located just a few km away. Work is predominately "on the land" clearing weeds and small bush.Planting native trees and Flax. Lawn mowing,. Things of this natur... more inside

We are a family of 4 on a sheep and beef farm. We're are friendly people who enjoy meeting new people. We'd love some help on the farm, around the home and in the garden. Experience in painting and a willing and able attitude will be an advantage. It is essential that you have travel insurance. Having your own vehicle would be an advantage. For 4-6 hours work a day, 4 days for a week you will get breakfast 7 days, lunch and dinner 4 days a week. The accommodation is self contained with a spacious double bedroom, kitchen, toilet and shower, see photos below.
We're situated in beautiful Eastern Southland amongst rolling green hills and we live beside an excellent fishing river rods and gear available for use. It is 20 minutes drive to Gore, 2 hours to Dunedin or Queenstown and 1 hour 10mins to Invercargill.
We're really looking forward to hearing from you.
Chris and Mairead and kids.
