We are a farming family who's children have grown up and left home and we need some help around the house and garden. We are on 2300 acres, 35km from Boyup Brook and 50km from Kojonup, Western Australia. About 3 1/2 to 4 hours drive from Perth and 2 hours from Bunbury. We were owner builders of our house. We sourced a lot of building material from local old buildings, and picked up stones for the walls from the paddocks on the farm.

We have chooks, cat, dogs, at the house and we are a sheep, cattle, and cropping farm.
At the moment, my son's 40th birthday is coming up in September and want a grand tidy up in the house garden and in the hall, where the party will be, hence also some painting. ?There will may be some sheep work as well. If job done well some money will be involved.
We are wanting help with mainly the garden at the moment and some house jobs. And maybe the odd job on the farm. Also, often some house painting.

We have a large garden area and would like general ... more inside

Accomodation is in a caravan with power and basic kitchen facilities.
Work varies depending on skills, interests and the season include garden maintenance, domestic help, helping with the animals and helping with the kids. We expect approximately 2.5 hrs work each day in exchange for accomodation and meals.

Hi, this is a unique opportunity to live in a museum! I am a gay guy who is the curator and caretaker of an historic homestead built between 1862-1880, located within extensive gardens. Part of the house now functions as a museum. The property is in a rural setting at Greenough - just off the Brand Hwy- 19 kms south of Geraldton and 400km north of Perth. I have planted fruit trees and established an organic vegetable garden. Helpers must like animals as I have ducks, a cat and 2 dogs. The property is close to isolated stretches of beach, bushland and other tourist attractions. Work includes gardening, cooking, cleaning, art projects, translating, helping keep the museum open, minor property maintenance, etc.
Only have accommodation for one person at a time and prefer non-smoking helpers over 25. For helpers wanting to improve their English, I hold a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (2001).

After 15 years on 3 acre hills property in Bedfordale I have now relocated to a new hills property in Roleystone. I've enjoyed the company and support of Wwoof and Help X members for many years now and I am keen to continue to hosting.

I am starting new productive and ornamental gardens which I will develop along organic and permaculture guidelines. I will also continue to keep poultry (turkeys, geese, ducks and chickens) and ponies.

Nearby is Banyowla National Park with many walk trails. Here you can enjoy great views to the city and see wildlife and wildflowers in season. Other attractions nearby include Araluen Botanic Park, Karakin and Armadale Wildlife Park.

On the property you can take advantage of the pool and relax in the many attractive garden areas around the house. You can also play with the dogs and groom the ponies. Work tends to be in the morning with free time in the afternoon. WiFi is available. Mobile phone reception is poor.

In exchange for 5 hours ... more inside

Hi, I am looking into Helpx for the first time.

I am a busy mum with two primary school aged girls.
I need help to sort my home out and do jobs like cleaning, folding and cooking, and possibly occasional child care.

The initial blitz will be hard work, but after that, the tasks would be easy to keep on top of, and probably no more than a couple of hours a day. For this reason, I'd prefer helpers who are willing to stay at least 2-3 weeks. I've been struggling with illness (thankfully recovering) and would appreciate help from someone who is non-judgemental about the current state of things and willing to help me sort it out. If you have experience dealing with total chaos, you're very welcome here! Students are also welcome - I can take you into town to the university or to South Regional TAFE most if not all days.

We are an all-girl household, and strictly non-smoking. We are learning musical instruments and have a piano, Cajon and guitars if you play. I cater for both v... more inside

We usually still have two properties that are available but some options have change recently

With both properties, we do not provide meals but they have shopping nearby. It`s a good idea to bring some basics foods if you arrive at night.

One is in Safety Bay near Penguin Island and the other is in Perth. Feel free to enquire as to which might be available.

The property in Perth is a lovely cottage. It is located within walking distance of Coles supermarket, grocery stores and public transport (as well as a local coffee strip. It`s a fully self-contained cottage with kitchen and bathroom. It was our house and we have move out of it while we decide its future. The helping exchange arrangement would be about 10 hours a week helping with repairs, gardening, cleaning and painting etc. It is on Woodville st (North Perth) if you want to check location Note with this property we are selling it so it may not be available for a long period.
The other option is near Penguin island.... more inside
