At our farm, we try to live sustainably and minimise our impact on the earth. This means we grow a lot of our food, don't use poisons and eat seasonally.

As you'll notice if you come and visit, we try to repurpose, recycle and reuse as much as we can. We hate waste and the thought of perfectly serviceable items ending up in land fill!

We have always grown fruit and vegetables and have over 80 nut and fruit trees on the property. We have several bee hives, which help our fruit to pollinate and provide us with delicious honey. We also have many olive trees which we use for pickling and for oil.

We don't use poisons on our crops, which are irrigated using rainwater collected in our dam. Whilst we're not certified organic, we can't see the point of using poisons on food that we'll eat or allowing it to end up in our ground water.

We run our tractor on biodiesel, made from discarded re... more inside

We are about to commence mustering, which is exciting time of year and new accommodation opening too...busy, busy.

Outback Cattle Station located in the beautiful Pilbara region of Western Australia. We are located in the middle of 880,000 acres of open rangeland. We are a short flight from Perth to Paraburdoo by Qantas, or if driving, we are on the travellers scenic route to Broome.

We ask that people have adequate travel insurance to cover activities such as horse-riding, must be experienced riders. We have found that Helpx who join in on our working day make the most of the opportunities. In terms of exchange, please be aware that can be far more expensive providing food and accommodation, basic transport in remote areas.

The property has Telstra 3G and Next G coverage in places for mobile and internet, need own device. We have a fully equipped quarters, for self catering meals (we pay the grocery bill but you choose and cook what you want) and bathrooms. Accommoda... more inside

Hi there happy travellers!

We are a couple in our 30' and 50', with twins (a boy and a girl) who are 14 month old. Our Dog (on the photo) is unfortunately no longer with us. We (Celine) speak English, French, German and Spanish. (Geoff's mother tongue = English, Celine's mother tongue = "Swiss"-French).

We leave on the hills 25 minutes drive from Perth (Kalamunda WA Australia) with a bus commuting directly to the Perth CBD from our street and plenty parking if you have a vehicle. Kalamunda village and its shops, cafes, pubs and market is 2 km away and easily accessible by bus, car or a 25 minutes walk.

Apart of Perth and its coastal life, there are plenty of activities in the surrounding of the Perth hills: for example the Bibbulmun Track, camel ride, outdoor cinema in the forest, John Forest National Park, Lake Leschanolti, Mundaring Weir, Boutiques Wineries, Kayaking, etc.

At the moment, we are looking for a girl or a couple, helping us with general housework and to ... more inside
