Help with kids needed from 9th of September for two weeks. Their Dad is away for work, and I need assistance before and after school three days a week.
We have a one acre property with some established fruit trees. We are 20 mins from Hobart, with a bus stop within walking distance. There is a lovely river swimming spot a short walk away. Day trips to places like Bruny Island are also a reason to visit.
Current projects to choose from if you like to have a specific goal: build a chicken coop, build a rock wall, plant fruit trees, plant a native garden.
Accommodation is within my house, single bunk beds or double bed, and share the family bathroom. Meals included.
I have two daughters, 10 and 12 years, a cat and a very friendly dog.
I'm looking for some help around the house or garden.
I am happy with short stay. Hours of work are 20 hours per week, negotiable times.
I want to host because I enjoyed volunteering when I travelled overseas, and I love meeting like minded p... more inside

We are a family of three my husband Stuart (Scottish) myself Bridgette (Austraian) and our almost 3 year old daughter Ayah. We moved into our house in August 2017 which is located in Tasmania's longest standing community, with the intention to become fully self sustainable one day. We love fermenting and preserving food, brewing beer, gardening, earth building and caring for the amazing land we call home. We woofed around New Zealand and Australia and love too share skills and learn new ones. We would love help in the garden, mud building, building fences and we are hoping to sand and stain our house this summer. We have a large bell/tipi tent set up near the creek and the worlds best swimming pool. We are vegetarian so we wouldn't cook meat except yummy food from our veggie patch and local goodness. Stuart is the local vegetarian chef so good food is a promise. Its a magical place that we would love too share with you. xxxx

Hi. we are doing lots in the veggie and flower gardens for spring veggies. We are also building up our food business for afternoon tea bookings and farm shop.

The farm is not far from the beach and fantastic bush walks, we welcome people to stay with us and join in with farm activities, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen with some great local seafood or farm produce. We also have bikes and a kayak that need a bit of attention.

As well as working in the gardens, we are doing small building and general farm projects, see below a youtube video that gives a taste of helpex and farm stay visits to our farm.

Most of all we want your stay on our part of the coast to be interesting and enjoyable that balances the work you do...Our area is unbelievably beautiful!!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Cheers,
Mike the Cook

I live in a beautiful, remote valley in Tasmania.

I raise beef cattle and all my own food.
Spring is soon upon us, and I cannot keep up with all the necessary tasks to prepare for Summer and the next years food.

I milk my own cows and make all our butter and delicious cheese.

Recently, my husband and soul mate of 33 years died, and although I miss him terribly, life must go on.

If you have some time to help me spread compost on the garden, plant seedlings, stack some wood, carry dinner to our pig, I can promise you a beautiful place, delicious food, a glass of wine at dinner, a warm comfortable bed, and lots of happy conversation and laughter.

There is no transport to Lorinna, so you will have to call me so I can arrange to pick you up from Devonport.

I would like a conversation so please give me your mobile or email address. Look forward to hearing.

very scenic 5 acres of organic fruit vegetables and flowers only 10 minutes drive south of Hobart and 5 minutes to the centre of Kingston. We have 2 co joined houses on the property, we live in one and the other with 2 double bedrooms is vacant. I'm hoping to meet a couple or single that know about gardening and are happy to do 4 hours work a day, in exchange for room board and occasional use of my car.
Our family is vegan, we have a 3 year old, 3 crazy little dogs, 6 chooks, 4 geese, 3 drakes and 10 guinea fowl. We love the quiet life and we love growing all our own food and want to expand the range of fruit and veg that we grow.

Small hobby farm just 5kms outside the town of Deloraine in the north of Tassie. Deloraine is a farming/tourist town located on the way to Walls of Jerusalem and Cradle Mtn National Parks and near the Mole Creek caves. Public transport is available from Launceston or Devonport to Deloraine.

The farm is owned by myself and Pete. We have a large 3 bedroom house which is also occupied by several very friendly indoor cats. Guest bedroom has a double bed and is kept cat free.

We are still slowly establishing our farm, currently working on possum proofing vegetable garden beds, fencing for our friendly goats and poultry, pallet constructions and weed control. There is a lot of bush and some tall trees.

If people have the skill or the desire we are also keen to put in a small mountain bike track at the back of our property :).

We are offering a home stay arrangement with meals in exchange for some assistance with gardening, weeding, landscaping, fencing, and general maintenance... more inside
