We are currently looking for Volunteers to start Mid February who can offer skills in the kitchen and house.

The Lindholme Hall Estate is the home of Gomde UK. The estate is a 180-acre ‘island’, which lies within the Humberhead Peatlands National Nature Reserve, in the centre of Hatfield Moor. The Lindholme ‘island’, once only accessible by boat, can now be reached across the peatland via a one-mile single-track road. The beauty and seclusion of the estate make Lindholme Hall a perfect place for the practice and study of the teachings of the Buddha. Our spiritual director is Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche who is the Abbot of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery
We have created a small, but thriving, resident community which manages the day to day running of the centre. When there are vacancies it is possible to join the community as a short-term or long-term volunteer. As a resident volunteer you would be involved in a range of activities, according to your interests and skills. We ask for 6... more inside

Taking helpers March - September 2020

We, Mike 70, John 81, Peter 63 and Porage (the cat) 12, have been here for five years. The house is an old English farmhouse with nice neighbours and buses to local towns, train direct to London. We go to the gym at least three times a week, and Mike and Peter like walking and running.
We need someone to help REDESIGN THE GARDEN, cut the grass, prune trees, make a water feature, and dig, dig, dig. John is interested in interior decoration - stencilling and colour washing etc. Some of the gardening/construction is heavy work.

We are on the main line to London. The local gym has a good swimming pool. The walking scenery is excellent - Mike likes walking and running, and Peter goes swimming several times a week. We do not provide a computer for you to use, but we use WIFI all the time. The village library has computers for internet access free anyway.

You will have your own room. We don't have formal work schedules. We expect you to muck i... more inside

CURRENTLY PARTICULARLY INTERESTED IN MEETING PEOPLE FROM ITALY, BUT HAPPY TO HOST HELPERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD

We've been part of Helpx for several years now and have met some wonderful people, many of whom we still keep in touch with.

We live in York, in the north of England, where we have a garden and (a 10 minute walk away) an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables.

We try to cultivate using the `no-dig` method and like to re-use and recycle wherever possible.

Our house has solar panels on the roof for water and electricity as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment.

The work includes turning and spreading compost, making new beds, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting.

From early summer, fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving.
If the weather is bad then there are always jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse.

We can offer all meals, laundry... more inside

We have a delightful bungalow in the beautiful Devon countryside with a large garden and peaceful location.
We are vegetarian, many of the meals are vegan but not always. Non smokers please.

Were looking for someone to help with our garden to tidy up and pull out the weeds...it will require strength and a good pair of wellington boots.
There’s fencing to paint (with water based paint).
If the weathers bad you can help with a few organising jobs indoors, but it’s mostly outdoors which needs attention.

We can offer you the cosy caravan with electric blanket, kitchen, fridge and cooker. The WiFi is very fast and you can download unlimited films. Outside there’s your own pretty sitting area.

We’d like 4 hours help a day with your weekends free. In exchange we’ll give you £20 towards your breakfast and lunch food to prepare in your caravan. We provide the basics like rice pasta and lentils herbs tea and coffee.
Monday to Friday evening meals, we all eat a home cooke... more inside

Hi

We are Richard and Janet and we consider ourselves to be a young couple in our mid-fifties! We live in rural Lincolnshire with our two large dogs.

We are mainly seeking help with gardening, landscaping, maintenance, decorating and building repair work together with occasional domestic chores. If you are good with vehicles we also have a number of classic car projects in our workshop, a half converted camper and a number of old pinball machines etc. for anyone who has a flare for electronics. There are always lots of projects on the go from building things to fixing things and occasionally just doing things for the fun of it. We are not a business enterprise.

You must love dogs as they are a big part of our lives. Our home is an old partly refurbished farm house and group of outbuildings dating back to the 1850’s. It is set in two acres of land located approximately 3 miles or 5 Km from the nearest town of Boston. We are located 2 miles or 3 Km from our nearest convenie... more inside
