Hello prospective HelpXers,

The work is mainly on the farm, which is simple work of feeding and watering the animals and chickens (plus the ducks) and milking two of our goats.....

If the weather is good (and not too hot) there are outside jobs of gardening and landscaping the kitchen garden.

In exchange for all of this we will supply good food, a lot of conversation and a good sprinkling of laughter!

So if you are interested in what I have written above, please let me know as soon as possible as we need to fill our vacancy.

Please read.....

We do like our helpers to stay 3 weeks (or more) - This is because we have a lot to teach new helpers and this takes time. The first 3 - 4 days we would be working with you and then you would need 2 days off, so that is the first week gone....

**WARM** clothes (even in summer it can be cold here)- working coat/jacket and wellington boots ARE essential, please let us know if bring wellington boots is a problem... more inside

My husband, Steve, and I live in Stickford, a rural part of Lincolnshire. We are looking for help for a maximum of a month to help with hedge cutting, general garden work, rebuilding of the chicken enclosure and building a pergola and outdoor kitchen. We have an acre of land and keep ducks, chickens, Guinea pigs, rabbits, cats and two dogs, as well as running a small holiday let. You will be staying in our house and will have your own room and Internet access. In exchange for your help you will be provided with fresh home cooked, locally sourced meals and we're happy to help you explore the local area including historic Lincoln. We would be looking for help for a maximum of four hours a day, although this is negotiable and probably won't be every day, with weekends off. Any questions just ask.

AUTUMN PROJECT
2 WEEKS (B'fast, light lunch & Dinner)
VOLUNTEERS
HELP NEEDED TO BUILD VEGETABLE GARDEN
(LAST WEEK OF SEPT & FIRST WEEK OCT 2019)

ONGOING PROJECT
Our work is towards becoming a sustainable project funded by opening our fields to campers during the Summer season. We grow our own vegetables which we share with campers and volunteers. Our animals are mostly rescue, and our land is now almost organic.
We started our project 14 years ago and now we are elderly we need extra help to keep it going.

We have a variety of jobs here and previous skills and experience are not necessary, however if any one has any experience with horses, gardening, building, plumbing or electrics, then they are always valuable to us.

We are also looking for someone throughout the summer who can help us with some admin. If anyone is interested in helping with answering emails and taking campsite bookings, that would be wonderful. We do a lot ourselves, but both my... more inside

We are now covered for help until February 2020 so are now looking for helpers from then and for all of 2020. Minimum stay 3 weeks.

We are close to town and sea with Dartmoor nearby.

Whilst we do prefer longer stays we will take people for as little as 3 weeks. But not less than 3 weeks, we find that the early days can be difficult for everyone and it takes a while to get to know each other. It also takes time for helpers to learn the routines.

Philosophy:
We have a small holding in Devon where we aim to grow as much of our own food as we can in an organic and sustainable way. So we have a small orchard a Kitchen Garden for vegetable growing, a fruit garden for soft fruit plus half an acre of flower gardens. We also have poultry (Chickens, various ducks, and geese) and there are bees which belong to a friend. The poultry are not for eating, but do provide us with a plentiful supply of eggs for most of the year.
Although not self sufficient in fruit and vegetables we do tr... more inside

We have recently purchased the iconic Golden Hind museum and are looking for volunteers to join us in the beautiful fishing town of Brixham, Devon.

The Golden Hind at Brixham is a full sized replica of one of the most iconic ships from the age of exploration. The Ship has been a feature of picturesque Brixham harbour for over fifty years, entertaining and educating thousands of visitors during this time - as well as being featured on many tv programmes and films. The Ship is open from spring to autumn come rain or shine and is an all-weather attraction with indoor displays as well as wide open decks.

A striking landmark in Brixham, every visitor on board contributes to the restoration and maintenance of the Ship, ensuring that 'Brixham's Treasure' will continue to enhance Brixham's beautiful Quayside for future generations...

We run a small yurt camp site, with 4 Yurts and a Shepherd`s Hut. We really enjoyed welcoming 3 HelpX people in 2018 and are now looking for a helper who can help us put the yurts to bed at the end of the season, from mid-September for about 4 weeks. We aim to clean and re-waterproof each yurt before packing it away for the winter and during this period we also have some painting work to do (inside and outside our renovated barn) and landscaping work to do in the meadow, around the garden and maintaining the farm buildings. We can help if you want to learn more about basic carpentry and painting skills, and landscaping/gardening for wildlife.
We're a "Green" environmentally award winning site, running for 9 years and we also have a "green" approach to our house, with solar pv and solar panels for hot water, as well as a wood pellet boiler. Whilst not registered organic, we have an organic sensibility and don`t use any chemicals on the land or on site.
We (Kim and Nick) live... more inside
