We are a young couple looking for a skilled builder or carpenter to help us build eco geodesic domes so that tourists can watch the northern lights through the roof and also, renovate our house so we can rent it out as a holiday let over the Summer. For the domes we need help with the wood work and building. For the house, we will be doing basic finishings and some extensions.
We live in Arskogssandur, North Iceland. It's quite a remote town by the sea, 50 km from the Arctic Circle. I am originally from the UK although i have lived here for over 3 years now. My partner is originally from Brittany and has been here almost as long. I have a MA in environmental management whilst my partner trained as a mechanic and is now working as a chef. We have a young baby and a dog. We are relaxed people who like to be outside and explore.
There is lots to do here although we live in a very remote location. In the nearest big town, Dalvik, 10 minutes away there is a geothermal pool complex, sk... more inside

This is a small country hotel between the sea and the powerful mountain Hafnarfjall. Our mission is to let our guests enjoy the unspoiled nature. This is a place where you can;
- pick up blueberries 10 meters from the Hotel.
- enjoy the darkness for the Northern Lights
- go for a walk and enjoy clean and fresh water.
- Enjoy the quietness of this place.

But furthermore our mission is in this environment you can enjoy a good breakfast and later on a good restaurant.

Hello
I need a helping hand in a guesthouse from august 20th to september 21st 2016.
Work from 8/9 am - 12/1 pm. Five rooms, breakfast buffet, laundry, check-out guests.
Employees can have two separate rooms (or one) and can borrow a car.
The guesthouse is on a working farm in West Iceland. Located in a beautiful valley, close to many popular attractions, such as Hraunfossar waterfalls, Deilartunguhver hot spring and Reykholt historical place. It takes one hour and thirty minutes to driver to the farm from Reykjavík.
In this month you could experience the last part of summer, to see when the sheep come from the mountains, beautiful nature and hopefully the northern lights.

Hi everyone!

We are looking for a helper or two ASAP who knows his or her way around the garden, hydroponics (not a must) and plants in general, and who’s willing to be lending a hand here and there around the house. The garden hasn’t been used for growing anything for a while, so you’ll have to start from scratch (very exiting!).

As part of an art project in Seyđisfjörđur, Iceland, we need to cultivate our garden. The project is called ‘The Scent Bank’ (thescentbank.com) and we will grow plants indoors, in bottle towers (hydroponic), outdoors and in a greenhouse. Flowers and plants will be destilled extracting hydrosol and essential oil in order to make a scent library.

Seyđisfjörđur has a very lively community of artists, musicians, cultural events and lovely people in general. And if you like hiking there are two huge mountains here, as well as loads of birds at the end of the fjord at Skálanes waiting to be looked at.

We hope to hear from you soon!
// Philippe & Ida

if someone prefer to help us doing houseworks on the inside, than that is also an option, like, cook, bake and clean floors and do washing.

We are a young family living in the beautiful west fjords of Iceland. We live in one of the most scenic areas of Iceland with numerous waterfalls, endless mountains, extraordinary sunsets and wonderful wildlife all around. We are close to the home of the Atlantic puffin and a rare Sea eagle nesting ground.

We also have numerous Icelandic horses which you can ride, when the opportunity presents itself.

To start with we are looking for someone active and enthusiastic to babysit our daughters ( 4 years old & 1 1/2 years old) while we work. I am a chef in a hotel next to the house and the summer months get quite busy. We would encourage you to explore the area around with the girls, for example to accompany on trips with the extended family, harvesting eider down from the islands nearby.

Our family has a business creating bedding with the eider down, it is a very delicate process and there is a lot to learn within the trade. There would be opportunity to work there as well.
