Hello!

Our farm is a community that has a chicken pen, a dozen sheep, a greenhouse, a vegetable garden, some fruit trees and a field that aren't currently cultivated. On that site, we are also welcoming refugees (from November 1st) from the camps of Calais and Grande Synthe, who don't have access to emergency shelters this winter. These two facets of our project co-exist in that the products of the farm are used to feed the community (of a dozen people); we don't sell anything.

The volunteer has the following tasks:
- managing outdoor spaces and production tools
- preparing the fields to be cultivated in the spring
- looking after the chicken pen and the sheep
This is all happening within a community that's motivated for these tasks to be carried out together. You are encouraged to be initiative-driven and to propose experiments on site, especially in terms of raising awareness and working together with people who are welcomed on site.

The refugees welcomed are c... more inside

Salut,

We need busy hands to help us with a new project at this former watermill between Carcassone and Castelnaudery. Anybody with some skills (cleaning, gardening, cooking or with wonderful ideas) is warmly welcome. Idealy we looking for a long term stay (4 weeks - 4 months) with knowledge in english and french. The project is in the Aude region in southern France, we building some extra rooms and bathrooms at the house (this won't be part of the job) and the idea is to tidy things up, clean around, leave the garden even more beautiful, build a nice environment to start receiving guests on middle December.
We would like to create a nice community, so we really into people with good mood, positive attitude, no bad vibes allowed here hehe.
Everybody will be part in the task of cooking, either cleaning or preparing the dishes. We share breakfast, lunch and dinner, we provide the food, apart from alcohol and sweets. Mostly vegetarian food.
Driving license can be a plus.

We're a few people living in the Pyrenees mountains (south of france near mediterannee sea), a place isolated from road and town.

Our main goal is to restore the potential of the old little village La Coume to allow people to live there.

We run different projects: organic gardening, raising animals (chickens, goats, donkeys, horses), rebuilding ruins with old methods, making our own energy.

I am looking for people to help me 6 hours per days 4 days a week. I expect autonomus people who are not afraid to work hard and walk.
People need to be able to reach us by foot, work independently, cook for everyone, do a bit of housekeeping.
You must be aware that it's not a holiday center...

In exchange I will be happy to give them food, housing, activities happening around in the valley, trekking and exchange knowledge. You will be lodged in a commune house with a dry toilet outside.

Most of work is hard and outside: building with stones, electric fences, clean the fields, ... more inside

I live in an old farm and farmhouse in Normandy. I have converted a cottage into a B&B with 4 bedrooms (all en suite) and the first barn into a gite. The next stage is to convert the next barn. I also have a Yurt and a campsite,a chicken, geese, goats and 2 cats. With the guest-accommodation, farm and further buildings to be converted, I could always do with an extra pair of hands. Skills can range from building, painting, cleaning, taking care of the animals, farming hay and general maintenance. Someone with a sense of humour would be great. I enjoy music so you may find all sorts playing, from classical to Genesis or Roxy Music!

Current project (weather dependant) include:
1. Chicken and goose enclosure
2. House roofing

I offer accommodation and all meals included in return for 5 working hours per day, 5 days a week. After a week I'm happy to give a day tour of the battlefields ...

Easy to find and get to .. .By train leave Paris at the Gare de St Lazare for Che... more inside
