We are a small organic olive farm, not yet in commercial production. We practice permaculture and the olives are part of a `forest garden` which also includes 200 cork oaks, carob and other trees and shrubs. We also have a vegetable garden, fruit trees, dogs, cats, a house pig, donkeys, rescue rabbits and worms!. Living in a Mediterranean climate we practice several different methods of water recycling and have a biological swimming pool. Help is required with all aspects of a compassionate, sustainable lifestyle.
Meals are vegan, wine is served with the evening meal and we are non smoking. Current projects are forestry clearing in preparation for planting, garden management, animal care, plus various indoor projects for bad weather. The olive harvest is late October.
Normally up to 4 helpers are here at a time, living as part of a family style community. We ask a minimum commitment of 4 weeks, with longer stays very much preferred. People usually book a few weeks ahead, but we so... more inside

I need english speaking young people to come and help with my small summer school in Normandy. French children from 11 years old come to stay with us to improve their English during the summer holidays. We normally have up to 4 per week.

We need someone to join in the fun, going to the beach, visiting tourist attractions and entertaining the kids. Can you impress us with your skills on the PS2 and Wii? Are you a demon at Monopoly? you must speak English all the time. Absolutely no French.

Of course there is cleaning and maybe cooking if you'd like to?

I pay entrances to tourist sites and you get all your meals included....even chocolate!

We live in a large property in rural Normandy, in a small village opposite a medieval church. William the Conqueror used to have a chateau here but it has long gone now.

We are Mum, Scarlett 27, Morgan 22 and Oliver 20. The kids are away working or at uni most of the time.

We are fun and easy going and treat our helpers as part o... more inside

We are retired teachers. We inherited a large family property with several buildings and a large field. We are nature lovers and we decided to create a park (arboretum) and we take care of it. We also produce organical vegetables and fruits, but we do not make breedings. We are not vegetarians, but we are very careful about the quality of our supplies : we are members of an AMAP, "voisins de panier" to buy local organic food to complete our production.
Paul is also involved in a workshop of wood and a blog on the internet. Pascaline is interested in writing. We both play music and we work together a lot in the park.
The house is large and well appointed and the last few years we do hosting also couchsurfers and bewelcomers. We really appreciate getting to know all kinds of people. We offer a real exchange : we helped those who wanted to learn French according to our abilities...
The house, garden, park, carpentry, all this gives us a lot of work. Not being very young, we seek h... more inside

I live in an old farm and farmhouse, La Rougerie, in Normandy. I have converted a cottage into a B&B with 4 bedrooms (all en suite) and the first barn into a gite. The next stage is to convert the next barn. I also have a Yurt and a campsite,a chicken, geese, goats and 2 cats. With the guest-accommodation, farm and further buildings to be converted, I could always do with an extra pair of hands. Skills can range from building, painting, cleaning, taking care of the animals, farming hay and general maintenance. Someone with a sense of humour would be great. I enjoy music so you may find all sorts playing, from classical to Genesis or Roxy Music!

Current project (weather dependant) include:
1. Chicken and goose enclosure
2. House roofing

I offer accommodation and all meals included in return for 5 working hours per day, 5 days a week. After a week I'm happy to give a day tour of the battlefields ...

Easy to find and get to .. .By train leave Paris at the Gare de St ... more inside

We have created an association here in the heart of the Normandy countryside at my home with the aim of sharing ideas and practices relating to permaculture, veganism and sustainable living. The work with friends and volunteers is currently coordinated by myself (an English woman with a background in plant based cooking, permaculture, organic gardening, teaching and ecoconstruction).

This year we will be developing the food growing aspect of the project as well as to start running vegan cooking and permaculture workshops. We have created an edible/permaculture landscape consisting of a mandala garden, apple orchard and forest garden. We grow edible flowers, herbs and fruit and vegetables on a small scale. I want to work on incorporating more green manures, edible perennais, living mulch and wild plants.

Vegan cooking is a big part of life here. We try to use produce from the land as much as possible. I would love to hear from you if you would like to stay for a longe... more inside
