We are a 152 acre farm that sits 10 km east of Vanderhoof (or 85 km west of Prince George) We have a 1 acre market garden, a small herd of speckled park cattle, a few chickens, an absolute darling milk cow, and a few other residents who come and go seasonally. Gordon has extensive experience with low-stress livestock handling. We are enthusiastic about sharing our passion for creating a farm environment that is beneficial for everyone: the land, animals and people. The property is beautiful with green pastures, a fair bit of forest, wetland and wildlife.

We welcome helpers into our home, and offer meals and accommodation in exchange for good-natured and hard-workin' help around the farm.

Our family (9 year old boy and 11 year old twin girls) has a 1 acre farm with chickens, sheep, pigs, bees, and several large gardens and greenhouses. All of the food we produce is for our own consumption over the year.

We are located a short walk or bike ride (we have extra bikes) to Smithers and have amazing mountain views from our back deck. There are so many activities to do in Smithers in the summer; biking, hiking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, and so many more.

You will get a private room with a queen bed in our house and access to internet, laundry and food. If you prefer to sleep outside, we can provide a tent to give you more of your space. We are quite flexible with what you want to do, if you prefer cooking to gardening, we are happy to let you cook. If you like building and not weeding, then we can find a task for you. Let us know what you like to do and we can probably find a way to make it happen.

I'm looking for child care for my children only 4 days a week.  The summer months would be longer than the school year. In the summer the girls ages 6 & 8 will need help with keeping up on their reading, sight words and math. Both girls will be in school come September and in the winter months of December to April i will need someone to walk the girls to school, and pick them up after school. During school hours in the winter 9:00am-2:30 pm is mostly your time to do as you wish. The school is 4 houses away but there will be snow from late October to March! Not to worry, it's not over the hills trudging through deep snow. I would like some help with household chores and meal prep and cooking as in the summer months I work until after 5:30pm. There are a few food allergies, so some foods will not be allowed in our home ie peanuts, mangos and a few herbs. If you have allergies or dietary requirements we will do our best to work around them as well. I would also like help with some ligh... more inside

We are a family of 4 and live on a small Hobby Farm with some goats, chickens, a dog and a cat. Sandra and Marc were born in Germany, Torben (15) and Ellena (18) were born in Canada, though we speak mostly German at home, unless we have visitors (or helpers) staying with us.

We can always use some help to care for the animals, with the fences, the barn, in the house and the small garden. The amount of work depends on the time of year and the length of your stay. We offer clean accommodation and some meals.

You must be honest, reliable and independent; non-smokers only and absolutely no drug use! Our place is about 10 km out of town, so it's best if you have your own car (or really like biking).

We are new to helpx, but have been hosting couchsurfers for a few years (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/masatesch).

Please contact us if you are interested or would like more information about us and our place.

I live on a lovely river and a few minutes walk from the ocean.

At different times, there may be one of three cabins available, or sheltered camping space (with a nice tent set-up :)), and we can share meals, or arrange cooking space for you.

I'll be looking for support around here with carpentry, gardening and odd jobs -- We can figure out what works best for your skills and interest and the time of year.

Enjoy food gathering all year around, paddling and watersports, and old-growth forests. I'd love to welcome you to this magical island!

Feel free to contact me for more information

We are a small cattle farm. We are calving, in the spring such an exciting time of year. we have about 65 cows and 20 horses all year. we have an additional 30 horses from October to June. The 30 horses work for a guiding outfit the other months. in the summer we hay and we also ride horse to check on the cattle which are on pasture. The Fall is fairly busy with gathering the cattle from the range and shipping the calves to market. Winter there is feeding the animals hay with the tractors and keeping the fires going as it gets cold. Spring is the busiest season with calving. Summer time is fishing time and we ice fish in the winter as there are many lakes around. We have a leather workshop where we make shirts, chaps, belts and more.
