Hello!
Currently traveling/HelpXing/Karma-Yogying so not hosting at this time.

We were Helpers abroad in New Zealand and met some great people so we thought we would like to try being hosts too! We have also been Karma-Yogis recently in the Bahamas so helpers with an interest in this are encouraged to contact us as well.

*PLEASE NOTE: HelpXers that are already in the US and coming our way are welcome to contact us. Please do not make us your sole destination, and commit to a specific arrival date.

Lee is rebuilding a 45 ft. Wooden Schooner in a small Historical/Maritime town. This area is a great place to relax/unplug/create/swim/walk/bike/sail and paddle but city thrills one must drive for. We also bring other boats back to life with cosmetic repairs and enjoy sailing them. Short walking distance to shops, library & post. We also have a 25 ft sailboat in the water for sailing fun & accommodation. Tent space is also available.
In summer we are on the Chesapeake Bay ... more inside

Our farm is located on 160 acres of forests and rolling pastures, with ponds and an extensive forest trail system in Southwestern Virginia, nestled among the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The Jefferson National Forest, the New River, and multiple access points to the Appalachian Trail are less than twenty minutes away. Over the years, our family and others we have invited to live on our property have undertaken a wide variety of projects—a market garden business, music festivals, tiny house and van builds, trail building and forest gardening projects, sheep dog trials, airplane landing strips, and more. We have always believed in making the amazing resources of our farm available to members of our community and beyond who have a passion for living close to the land in a creative, communal setting.

This season, we are looking for helpers as we move the farm in a new direction in the upcoming years. We intend make the property available on AirBnb this summer, and need help cleani... more inside

Learn about suburban regeneration and community involvement at our four year old suburban permaculture site in our well cared for home. I am a science teacher and work full time and am looking for help with my young food forest and moving my home toward minimalism.

You will learn a lot by helping me with:

Spring maintenance of site which includes:
Mulching with onsite shredded leaves (leaves must be raked and shredded on site)
Removing dead and undesirable plants and composting
Building trellises for brambles (blackberries and raspberries)
Pruning (I will teach you)
Minimizing (helping remove unneeded items from garden and home)

20 hours/week. Our food is mostly but not all organic and we are semi vegetarian. We are in a lovely area with ocean and bay beaches, lakes, forests and lots of art culture. We are about an hour and a half from NYC so you could visit use before or after your time there. Our family is involved in the community so if you are interested in ... more inside

Our 100+ acre farm and cafe are a part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run cafes, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to stay with us in exchange for participation in our busy life. We currently have goats, ducks, chickens, cattle, and honey bees. We care for our animals to provide milk and eggs. We are now endeavoring to grow and process our own grain to provide non-GMO flour for ourselves and feed for our animals. We would love some support in establishing our granary and infrastructure surrounding it. We also run a café in the tiny town of Oak Hill, New York. We built our rustic Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment.
Help with animal care, household chores, and even some work in our cafe are much needed and very welcome.

We all work together in our houses, on the farm and at our c... more inside

We are a family of 4. My partner and I are former circus performers, we have two school aged children. Our children are spirited, loving, and gentle children who enjoy meeting new people. They love to share about their interests and hobbies. During the school year we need extra help with household errands and chores, occasionally child care, but not often.

Our ideal helpXer would blend into our family unit, is willing to help around the house, for example helping with chores or helping children with their chores, occasional errands. Hopefully nothing that would be more than your own parents or family would expect from you. We would hope you enjoy being with the family.

Because we are not tryig to find a "worker bee" we do not keep a set schedule for our helpXers. If you are here looking at schools or exploring the city we are flexible and can accommodate the day to day things when you are around. We prefer that helpXers contribute to the home community by pitching in with c... more inside

We specialize in dried herbs for tea and infusions. We strive to produce the highest quality herbs through our growing and drying practices. These include harvesting at the herbs’ peak potency and rapid drying process, setting the quality of our herbs far above that of conventional herbal teas. Our farming practices are absolutely chemical free, we are a no till farm and use local compost for fertility. Everything done is by hand. Biodynamic and permaculture principles are incorporated when able. The farm is located located on peaceful land at the foothills of the Catskill mountains with field, forest, and a special creek.

We are also a budding homestead community & retreat center, growing allot of our own food, tending chickens, building infrastructure and hosting events.

We are seeking enthusiastic self motivated volunteers interested in sharing knowledge. Volunteers can expect to work on: planting, harvesting, dried herb processing, packaging, veggie growing, cooki... more inside

Hi, I'm looking for someone to help doing various home, garden, pottery studio and yard chores. I grow a fairly small vegetable garden for personal use rather than a market garden. I also have some simple home repair/ building projects I need help with...I sell my pottery and have a studio in the garage. I also need some help with studio chores and can trade some studio time/teaching for help there and with selling at the local Nelson Farmer's Market. I have a small dog who is very friendly and lives both indoor and outside.

The area I live in is rural, with lovely views of the Blue Ridge mountains all around. Opportunities for hiking abound. There is a small community nearby, with lots of fine, friendly folks, a few stores, restaurants and plenty of local wineries and breweries. It's about 30 mins. from Charlottesville, a wonderful small city and hub of culture, music and art.

There's no public transport, so it is helpful to have a car. I do have Broadband WIFI. You would... more inside

We have two locations--one urban and one suburban. We currently have goats and chickens, but are hoping to get a large vegetable garden in for spring. There isn't a ton to do over the winter but we do so appreciate the couple of hours a day help that we are getting. Looking for independent people who can work alone or bring their own traveling companion.
