Could use help restoring a 1700's log home as well as other outdoor work around the farm.
Unskilled and skilled labor are useful.
After working, I would be happy to tour with you. We are very close to Gettysburg,PA and within reasonable distance of Washington,DC.
I also enjoy kayaking, boating, hiking and camping. Doing these will not be a problem and would be a pleasure to make a fair trade.

We are a 10 acre homestead in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We have a "Certified Naturally Grown" orchard and make artisanal apple cider vinegars. We sell our vinegars at farmers markets and local organic stores. Our Homestead is 10 miles outside of a small town with two colleges (lots of cultural activities). If you are interested in apple cider vinegar making and orchard management, then you would probably find a visit with us to be enjoyable.

This is a 20 acre farm in central Maryland. If you love animals, we are the place for you! We raise sheep for their fiber and have many other animals including chickens, miniature horses, miniature donkeys, riding mules, alpacas and even a resident goat and cow. We specialize in humane education, animal behavior training, and dog training through our business Humane Domain. There are projects available for everyone – caring for the animals, construction of animal shelters, building of new barn/machine shed, fence repair, hay baling, and many painting projects, etc. We are located directly across from Liberty Reservoir which offers hiking and fishing. Other areas of interest are “America’s Best Small Town – Sykesville”, historic Ellicott City, the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, and Washington DC. Come visit for a day- or spend as long as a month with us! Currently we can accommodate up to two overnight guests, but welcome groups for day visits.

I need help managing my garden, my land, and working on my home. I'm looking for 3-4 hrs of help a day. It can be very flexible. Some paid work may be available with me doing work for others. I have many years of gardening, and home repair under my belt. I traveled years ago work trading on farms, and homesteads. I'm a handyman by trade these days. I can teach about building trades, gardening, plant identification, and more. I live along a 57 mile long trail called the New River Trail. It's a rails to trails state park. It's a seven mile bike ride on the path to the closest town. I have bicycles to use. There is a river close by, I have a canoe. My land has a spring, a creek, hills, meadow, forest, and wetlands.
Accommodations are modest. I have an extra bedroom, and matress. We will likely renovate that room this summer. There are plenty of places to camp as well. There are no flush toilets, i have a composting toilet. Hot showers are available. There is e... more inside

We are a happy, busy family of four with two indoor cats and one dog. We are looking for helpers able to do both gardening/yard work and indoor projects including painting, minor home repairs, and light housekeeping. We have two school aged kids, so assistance with childcare also might be needed. We are right on the bus route to the Staten Island Ferry (about a 10 minute ride) making our little corner of the Island very convenient to Manhattan by public transportation. We are a perfect location for someone looking to spend time exploring the best of the city alternated with time supporting our busy family. Flexibility is essential.

Learn about suburban regeneration and community involvement at our four year old suburban permaculture site in our well cared for home. I am a science teacher and work full time and am looking for help with my young food forest and moving my home toward minimalism.

You will learn a lot by helping me with:

Spring maintenance of site which includes:
Mulching with onsite shredded leaves (leaves must be raked and shredded on site)
Removing dead and undesirable plants and composting
Building trellises for brambles (blackberries and raspberries)
Pruning (I will teach you)
Minimizing (helping remove unneeded items from garden and home)

20 hours/week. Our food is mostly but not all organic and we are semi vegetarian. We are in a lovely area with ocean and bay beaches, lakes, forests and lots of art culture. We specialize in dried herbs for tea and infusions. We strive to produce the highest quality herbs through our growing and drying practices. These include harvesting at the herbs’ peak potency and rapid drying process, setting the quality of our herbs far above that of conventional herbal teas. Our farming practices are absolutely chemical free, we are a no till farm and use local compost for fertility. Everything done is by hand. Biodynamic and permaculture principles are incorporated when able. The farm is located located on peaceful land at the foothills of the Catskill mountains with field, forest, and a special creek.

We are also a budding homestead community & retreat center, growing allot of our own food, tending chickens, building infrastructure and hosting events.

We are seeking enthusiastic self motivated volunteers interested in sharing knowledge. Volunteers can expect to work on: planting, harvesting, dried herb processing, packaging, veggie growing, cooki... more inside

Hi, I'm looking for someone to help doing various home, garden, pottery studio and yard chores. I grow a fairly small vegetable garden for personal use rather than a market garden. I also have some simple home repair/ building projects I need help with...I sell my pottery and have a studio in the garage. I also need some help with studio chores and can trade some studio time/teaching for help there and with selling at the local Nelson Farmer's Market. I have a small dog who is very friendly and lives both indoor and outside.

The area I live in is rural, with lovely views of the Blue Ridge mountains all around. Opportunities for hiking abound. There is a small community nearby, with lots of fine, friendly folks, a few stores, restaurants and plenty of local wineries and breweries. It's about 30 mins. from Charlottesville, a wonderful small city and hub of culture, music and art.

There's no public transport, so it is helpful to have a car. I do have Broadband WIFI. You would... more inside
