Do you have enthusiasm and the ability to see what needs to be done and simply do it, with little or no prompting? If so, we'd love to hear from you! If you also have skills in carpentry or building, that would be a welcome bonus. Most of the time, however, you'd be working alongside Steve (Steve is a patient and experienced teacher - always willing to share and his skills and to learn new ways of doing things). We also need practical help with the usual landscaping, wood cutting etc- and in exchange, can offer comfortable accommodation and good food with, hopefully, a few laughs and mutual lessons along the way :)

We're a friendly and hospitable couple living in the Creuse department of the Limousin - a water wonderland with thousands of streams running throughout the region. Its pure, clear water is one of Limousin's main assets. Limousin is also a land of contrasts where steep valleys, picturesque villages, peat bogs, moorland, bucolic pathways, hills and enchanting forests... more inside

Hi folks, fancy a stay at my BnB for the summer, enjoy the bird song and wildlife of the Manche countryside, helping me with some DIY, renovating gardening. The gardens have fallen into disrepair as I can't take the winters there. I'm just bout to go back after being away for a year. My house is out of town so you'll need a car, or some kind of transport, nearest village Conde sur Vire is 2km away. Nearest large town ST.LO 8km Capital town of La Manche. You will have your own en-suite bedroom, There is UK TV, mobile internet but no landline. If you like to grow your own - then there's plenty of space to do so. You can smoke indoors but not in your bedroom. I am easy going and would enjoy some company as my French is disgraceful. So if you speak some French too you'd be on the short list. I am a gardener by trade, but have grown up within the catering business. I moved to France in 2004 with my late partner, who was a very clever man and could put his hand to anything, and I'm looki... more inside

We look after a rare breed of spanish sheep (90 ewes of the race Guirra) which we sell for lamb and reproduction, so we often need help looking after the sheep, lambing and hay-making. We do a big garden and have lots of fruit trees, many grafted onto wild rootstocks, chestnut forest. We have both studied permaculture and do the occasional edible landscape design. Accomodation in caravan(summer) or small apartment (dormitory),an excellent designed fully functioning compost toilet.
The Hamlet is situated in a beautiful area of the Corbieres mountains near a small thermal resort. There is a very popular hot spring in the river bed where people shower under the mineral water. January / February is lambing time. We could do with a hand during May to empty the barn and prepare for hay making. Then all of June until 21 July with hay making, mostly loading small(light) bales. This would 3 -5 hours a day depending on weather etc. We offer three meals a day. We eat a lot of our own food an... more inside

Who we are

We're a very active, young at heart couple of English early retirees who have converted a barn to a house, which we'd like some help to finish, renovating what will become a gite and taking control of the garden, which is a bit of a jungle at the moment. Never having had a garden in England, we're on a steep learning curve with our plot of 5000 square metres (just over an acre).
We're both keen cyclists, Nick especially loves doing cols in the Pyrenees and he keeps bonsai trees. Jackie enjoys sewing, patchwork, textile arts and most things crafty in what little spare time she has, teaches English and basic French and plays guitar. We're members of the local cycling and walking clubs and active members of the local community.
We grow lots of our own fruit and veg and consider ourselves good cooks.

Where we are

We live in the Gers, in south west France, surrounded by vineyards and 4km from a small town whose proudest boast is its motor racing circuit which has ev... more inside

Bonjour,

We are bringing back to life a 500 year old French house in the foothills of the mountains that has suffered more than 50 years of neglect. It has a fertile garden that is totally, naturally organic but needs clearing and planting with our choice of vegetation rather than what chooses to grow there itself (in great profusion).

The sort of jobs that we would like help with include food preservation, cleaning, re-organising, repairing, rebuilding, decorating in the house, clearing, landscaping, planting, weeding, power and other tool maintenance and repair, etc.

We are looking for people who share our desire to have a simple sustainable lifestyle that is stress free and very much aligned with the principles of nature. We like to meditate, practise yoga, we are vegetarian, we do not smoke or drink alcohol, and we prefer wherever possible to use herbs and natural healing methods over allopathic medicine.

We aim to enjoy working with you in all these exciting projects. During t... more inside

Geraldine and Richard have owned and run a spiritual centre for health and healing on Mount Tamborine, Queensland Australia for nearly 20 years. We are in the process of building a similar centre in the Languedoc South of France where we need help with light building and gardening. Accommodation is indoors with showers and hot water. All meals are provided.
Where possible we use sustainable and `green` building techniques.
The use of random (uncut) stone and lime mortar has minimal
and even positive effects on the environment.
We ensure that the timber used is either sustainably grown or recycled.
Our aim is to create a space where groups can come to learn a range of creative, experiential and spiritual activities in a safe and peaceful environment.
We will welcome people of all nationalities and spiritual beliefs to share this facility.
Subjects which we hope to encourage will include, yoga, art, dance, astrology, meditation and healing.
We have now finished the building of... more inside

Bonjour,

I will be happy to host a handyman for outdoor help in the garden, light renovation, cooking or baby sitting !

I'm alone with 3 children in a beautiful country. The village is small with 100 inhabitant, and house is very isolated. It's better to have a car because there are no transport, and distance to the first shop is 10 kilometers. I have an internet conn... more inside
