*Thank you for looking at our profile. We are currently unable to receive guests due to some work going on in the house*

Good luck with your travels.

Hello we are a family of 3: Will, Millie and Ollie.

We live in a lovely little pocket of Melbourne, 14km from Melbourne CBD. There are shops and public transport close by, with the lovely Darebin Creek bike track at our doorstep. The three of us live in our little oasis with gorgeous Kelpie-cross, Zoe.

We love the arts - Will is an English teacher, painter and poet and Millie works in the arts while Ollie goes to school.

We take frequent walks along the creek - giving both the child and dog a run! - and love cooking good food. Our garden is full of fruit trees and vegetables, although the vegetables clearly vary with the season. And effort.

We would dearly love to have someone come and live with us to help with some after-school childcare over a busy time at both of our work. We will need some help around the hous... more inside

We also have chickens, two dogs and two cats, although the animals do not enter the bungalow you would be staying in.

We would love to gain your help in doing some small projects such as making a brick garden wall, helping build a tree house or just lots of gardening, blackberry removal and tree pruning. When enquiring please specify what interests you and I am sure we can find something that would suit!

We are looking for people to stay a minimum of 5 days to a maximum of 2 weeks and live in our self contained bungalow/cottage. All food and bedding will be provided in exchang... more inside

**Looking for a female to stay for 2-4 weeks from 21 November 2017**

Hello,

We live in the Surf Coast town of Torquay, the start of the Great Ocean Road. Torquay is a popular seaside town with beautiful beaches and is a favourite holiday destination in Victoria. Torquay is just a 1 hour drive or train ride from Melbourne, and 20 minutes south of Geelong.

With Summer almost here, this is the perfect time to visit Torquay and explore its gorgeous surrounds. We are located just 800 metres from the beach, with many parks and outdoor areas to enjoy.

You will have:

Volunteer to help with a scientific research project - a bit different from other listings on HelpX!

I am researching seed dispersal by wind of an invasive tree - the grey sallow willow, which is damaging native waterways in Victoria. I'll be gathering data this spring in the Australian alpine area between October and December (around 2 Oct - 22 Dec). Specifically, I'll be visiting sites where willows grow and monitoring seed development, and also setting up some weather stations to measure wind.

And I need a volunteer to stay with me and help out for some or all of that time.

ACCOMMODATION:
Accommodation will be included and will probably be mostly camping, although if the weather is bad we have a house to retreat to. You can bring your own tent, or take the second sleeping pod in my tent (which is large or very waterproof). Helpful if you have your own sleeping bag/mat, but if you don't I should be able to borrow some for you. I'll probably get a gazebo and electricity... more inside
