Hello helpxers..... : ) We are looking for some help with a building project from around the 20th August. Any takers?

After helpxing ourselves for a year we came back to Cornwall and bought 3 acres of riverside swampiness just outside Truro. Since we got here we have been creating veg patches and repairing the old barn that was here so we have somewhere dry to sit! We have also begun a new oak framed barn as a long term project (maybe to be a house some day...)

The land and what we need help with...
On the land there are also fruit trees, ancient Cornish hedges, broadleaf woodland and wildy willow wetland areas. We would love help in any of the following areas . . . . .. veg garden (we grow organically and are guided by permaculture principles), weeding (always!) creating pathways through the woods and on the little islands by the river, making lovely little seating areas in the woods, repairing our 'tea room' which is a gorgeous back end of some old truck that needs T... more inside

I need a helpful and friendly person for two weeks from the 20th February. No smoking in the house. You would five hours a day, for six days a week. You would be made very welcome and live and eat as family, no special diets available. Your own bedroom. The work is simple as I am modernising my house and garden and need help to lift brick paths and stack the bricks ready for re use and remove tiles from the house walls and stack. No skill is required just a hard working attitude. I live in a beautiful small town on the South Coast of England. It has a railway station with trains to Gatwick Airport and London. My house is five minutes walk from the railway station and also only ten minutes walk from the sea shore. There are many historical places of interest nearby, such as the Portsmouth Dockyard with the Victory, Nelsons ship; Warrior the first steel ship; and Mary Rose museum and ship, which sank in 1540, with many recovered Tudor objects, clothing and goods used by the sailors... more inside

We are looking for some fit and capable person/s to help with conservation land management - mainly clearing scrub woodland, fencing and repairing bridges. We live in North Devon in the house that we built between Dartmoor and Exmoor on the land between two rivers (Taw and Torridge). We have a small farm with sheep and cattle a few chickens and a dog.
The helper/s would have their own room and bathroom which is at one end of our house and has its own entrance. We would like 4 hours work a day 5 days a week in return for accommodation and food. It will be hard and rewarding work!
We have table tennis, tv, wifi, bicycle and plenty of books. There are regular buses within walking distance and a nearby train service to Exeter and Barnstaple and we are happy to help with lifts.
Do get in touch if you are interested and we can talk things through

We are in Kent, a short walk from the centre of the picturesque historical town of Rochester with it's Dickensian heritage, Norman Castle and its' own Cathedral. We have good railway access to London and Dover.

Our house is a renovation work-in-progress. We can offer short term accommodation in exchange for internal and external skills. Examples of which are garden taming, tree surgery, using a drill (curtain poles, shelves), small scale plumbing and wiring (only if qualified), plasterboarding, fitting insulation, gloss painting, curtain making, housekeeping or just as an extra set of muscles for moving furniture around.

We are Eco-friendly, Green, Festival folk and welcome your ideas, experience and practical assistance to fulfill some of our plans.
Our home is a pet-friendly, non-smoking and vegetarian household. Smoking is acceptable only in the garden please and you are welcome to cook meat but preferably while we're out, haha.
