Hi helpers,
Our little patch of paradise is alongside a river 10mins walk from the town of Malanda which is in the hills 1hr west of Cairns. We have a couple of teenage kids as well as dogs, cats, chooks, geese and cows. A drivers license is pretty handy, but not essential. There is a self contained flat near the waterfall and all meals are had with the family.
We also have a property up in the hills where our breeder cattle live. It is nice and quiet and there is loads of wildlife about.
Between these 2 farms we are kept busy. We usually take 1 or 2 helpers at a time and prefer not to take small children as the river is very close to the house.
Best contact is the mobile, but we check email most mornings.

G'day,

My house is located within a 15 minute walk of the city or 3 minute walk of several bus routes. The house is a traditional old style Queens-lander house with a big back yard. You will have your own room for 1 person and the use of internet.

In return for this, I'm looking for someone to do house cleaning and some gardening

Julatten is renowned amongst bird-watchers worldwide and in particular for Mt Lewis National Park where all 13 Wet Tropics endemic bird species can be found. Taking Mt Molloy township as a central point, there is just over 300 bird species including all 13 Wet Tropics endemics have been recorded within a 15km radius of the town. No other region in Australia can boast this, not even Kakadu!
This is a small rural property opposite the birdwatchers lodge.
Port Douglas is 45 min away, Mossman with its famous Mossman Gorge 30 min.
I am in a 2 bedroom cottage that is over 100 years old. It is mostly renovated and with 2 verandahs very spacious.

Room/s available in upmarket house in very lovely, quiet & peaceful location. Close to airport, beautiful botanical gardens, charming cafe precinct and within easy distance to Cairns city (10 mins by car).
Suit single person or couple who enjoy peaceful living, away from the city lights and waking to the sound of birds.
Will only suit people who do not require having their meals prepared for them. will swap accomodation for some home duties each day.

Also worth noting that although buses do run to and from Cairns city from nearby bus stop, having your own car would be really handy.

ABOUT US :

We are married for 46 years and have a big extended family all around us but need a bit of help with a property that's a bit big for 2 older people. Our 42 year old son Andrew is living with us and he will be a source of information. We also have 3 small house dogs that will appreciate the extra attention.

LOCATION :

We are located about 5km outside of Cooktown. It's a small town (2500 people) located at the mouth of the Endeavour River, on Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland where James Cook beached his ship, the Endeavour, for repairs in 1770.

Cooktown has an IGA supermarket, post office, cafe's, pubs, laundromats, bakery, pizzeria, hospital and an ANZ & Westpac bank.

There is bus connection to Cairns and we can lend you a bike to get to the town easily.

We are a family run business operating an Oyster Farm on sunny Moreton Island. We are happy to accept travellers and have had some wonderful experiences with wwoofers already.

Duties include, building water infrastructure, making oyster bags, culling and sorting Oysters, general farm hand on the land base and grading of oysters.

Moreton Island is remote even though close to Brisbane, we have to generate our own power via solar and also collect our own rain water. If you love nature, hiking, reading or taking photos, you will love it here.

Accommodation is a caravan on site and a studio apartment. First in best dressed for that one.
We supply food which is eaten with the family, except breakfast, we give you that for you to have in your room. If you have a favorite meal you would like to share, we are more than happy with that.

Moreton Island is a National Park, you can go swimming, fishing, Kayaking, bush walking or just lay on the beach in the sun.
