Hi Wanderers,

Brynmelyn Bach is a lovely little patch of land that still needs a fair bit of work. We run a microdairy where the goats and cow keep their young and animals that would usually be slaughtered are retired to a conservation grazing herd. We sell raw milk, yogurt and cheese.

We are a bunch of scroungers and do it yourselfers looking to make a living off the land. So we are looking for someone with a sense of adventure and an appreciation for the rustic. I work as a way of supplementing income while we set up so you'll also need a strong work ethic and be happy to occasionally manage yourself. You won't be lonely, my partner is an artist working on the land and we have lots of people who come and go.

Now for the best bit we live on a double decker bus that we've converted into a farmhouse. There is a bedroom in the bus for you to stay in or you're welcome to stay in the tipi when there are no guests. Communal areas are shared and we have a compost loo outside. ... more inside

Hello Dear Helpxers!

Skilled and unskilled workers equally needed all year round.

We have the privilege of managing a beautiful country house that is used for B&B, Retreats and Weddings in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside.

This house was built in 1856 and was a family home originally. In recent years it has been developed as a B&B with 9 bedrooms, a conference and retreat centre and party and wedding venue. The range of events we have here is quite vast but we can tell you all about it when you arrive.

So here is the deal, regarding skilled work, if you have experience in any of the following:

- Carpentary
- Roofing
- Lead windows
- Plumbing
- Building
- Painting
- Gardening
- Cleaning
- Events/hospitality
- Cooking
- Marketing

Then you are especially welcome!

But regardless of who you are, there is plenty of work to be done.
The garden is in need of work at the moment, the spring is coming and its a goo... more inside

We are an elderly couple, man 94years and woman 87 years. We are now carless and pretty much house bound. it would be nice if we had a couple to stay for a short time to cook meals for us to help my wife, to take her out shopping or just a trip out, whilst somebody keeps me company, accompanys me on my walks, I can get a bit wobbly sometimes on my feet! We have a carer coming in daily so no nursing or personal care is required.
Just a change of face and a friendly ear and a kind soul. We tend to need a lot of rest so probably the afternoons would be your own time.
Good traditional english country cooking easily digested for an early evening meal.
Accomodation and food in return for food, transport, companionship, a bit of cooking, light housework. We are in a beautiful village on the edge of the cotswolds close to Oxford, so a good position for sightseeing. Or a super place to unwind and walk in nature or lie on the lawn with a cup of tea and a book.
A calm and sympathetic natur... more inside

We are a friendly family who, 4 years ago moved to our smallholding in a beautiful spot at the foot of the Cheviot Hills in the Scottish Borders. We are starting from scratch turning a bare field into an organic veg and fruit plot and home for animals. We need help with all sorts of things: digging and planting; erecting stock-fencing; building a tree house; growing food from seed; maintaining the veg plot and hedging; painting the inside and outside of the house; looking after the dogs and chickens; help around the house. If you can turn up, fit in and help out then we can look after you!! We had Helpxers for the past few years: it was a great experience and we got loads of jobs done and made new friends. We're a pretty laid-back lot (except the labradoodles who are pretty nuts!). Have a look at our references if you are interested in coming here.

September requirement

1 or 2 people or couple required for splitting & stacking & wheelbarrowing firewood (up 2 or 3 steps with plank over it) from front garden to back garden (about 35 metres). Work is outside. So you need to be comfortable with being outside, enjoy physical work, and have a normal degree of everyday fitness. Being tall or male or young does not necessarily mean you will find wood processing easy. You need to be able to work consistently and pace yourself. Our best wood processing helper was a mid-western American woman in her late 20's who had grown up doing it.

Sarah & Guy are a friendly couple in late forties with twin 7 year olds, living in comfortable, spacious house in Headington a suburb of Oxford City. We can offer internet, own largish twin room (sharing if there are two of you), good home prepared food (smoothies for breakfast), we will do your clothes washing and return it dried to you. There may be other (possibly international) guests staying... more inside
