We are looking for a young couple or fit and active older couple for a two to four week stay from now - February 2017.
Squire Farm is a small sheep farm in the South Shropshire Hills. There are two holiday cottages, a small vegetable garden, coppiced woodland (just started) and sheep (kept for mutton), horses, chickens, dogs and cats along with other less welcome livestock! We have recently started making Shepherd Huts also, which is an interesting project.
The farm is not organic or self-sufficient, but neither is it intensive or wasteful. There is always much to do to maintain the whole caboodle and we could use some help; building maintenance, gardening, logging, fencing, machinery maintenance, decorating, woodwork, cleaning and tidying and possibly lambing (due end April). In exchange you will have a room in the house, some delicious food (both Peter and I are good cooks!) and the chance to walk, ride, cycle and work in beautiful surroundings.

We are a family living in a log cabin type house in some steep woodland in the Blackdown Hills in Devon.

We are currently looking for help from frbruary to April. You will need to be a bit hardcore, capable of working on your own and not weird about compost toilets.

We have two sites, a woodland with vegplot/polytunnel a few minutes walk from our house, and a couple of miles away a 6 acre plot with young trees, a willow bed and pasture supporting some Jacob sheep.

Help is needed with gardening, both in the raised beds and in the polytunnel. We also have a network of medieval fishponds and ditches which require renovation, as well as general path maintenance around the woods here.

Accommodation in a classic camper van, belltent with burner or a timber frame building, depending on whats going on at the time. Plenty of room for camping in your own tent or vehicle if you prefer.

Coastal Paragliding centre and retreat/accommodation facility on The Island, coastal location, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are resurrecting the old organic herb garden and working on upgrading the buildings using reclaimed materials. Current work in progress includes dismantling a big polytunnel and erecting a conservatory in its place, some decorating and maintenance, fencing and hedging ....all making ready for this years walking, biking, flying, beach fishing, singing, yoga and holiday visitors.
Looking for (ideally) experienced help, mostly with construction side: tools, wood, brick etc.... Cheers!
Accommodation might be in a caravan, the bell tent or possibly sharing in the main house or clubhouse. Veggie food provided (but not prepared, as I'm a useless cook!)
Paragliding experiences likely if you're keen.
Cheers
Butterfly Dave

I recently moved with my partner in a large Victorian house, converted many years ago from a Police Station. The house is very close to the centre of York, you can have a nice and easy walk by the river.

We're looking for either a single person or couples to help with the renovation of the property. Lots of wallpaper to strip, and all sorts of building\repair works!

I live in a quiet, semi-detached house in south London. Buses go directly to the centre of town and to Brixton where you can catch the tube. there is also a train station nearby with direct trains to Victoria and London Bridge.

I need some help around the house such as painting/decorating and gardening. I would like someone to work for about 4 hours a day - that's about 20 hours over a week. Welcome to eat with us or cook for yourself.

I have a spare room with its own entrance and washbasin. The kitchen and bathroom are shared. We have a cat.

** short term Monday - Friday placements available from Feb onwards**

We have available short term project based placements available from Feb onwards mainly focused on gardening, outside painting and some inside painting.

YHA Blaxhall is a 40 bed hostel which makes a great base for exploring everything that the Suffolk coast has to offer. Comfortable and inviting, this former school is at the heart of the village on the edge of Blaxhall Heath surrounded by wildlife and beautiful countryside. Perfect for bird watching, cycling and walking. Also just down the road from the world famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall, and a 20 min drive to the fabulous RSPB reserve at Minsmere.

Your own transport is recommended as the nearest bus stop is 2 miles walk. You do need to be quite self sufficient as the hostel is fairly isolated but if you love nature, wildlife and peace and quiet you'll be happy!

Jamie & I (Amy) are the managers and we live on site with our young son. Our part tim... more inside

Hi there
we are looking for a friendly and practical person to help out with various internal decorating jobs from mid October for 2 to 3 weeks. You should have painting / interior decorating experience.
We are a friendly family consisting of myself Andrew, my wife Rosie and our two children aged 14 and 13. We are not a working farm although we do have ponies, dogs and chickens! So you must be animal friendly.
This would suit someone with a little experience of property development.
Our home is a beautiful thatched farm cottage situated near the town of Pewsey in Wiltshire some 20 miles north of Salisbury and 20 miles East of Bath. We have 4 hectares of fields surrounded by a little stream.
We are just 1 hour 10 mins from London by train.
You will have your own room with an en-suite bathroom with a bath (no shower). The bedroom has a huge king size bed and is super comfortable. Access to kitchen is not a problem and hopefully you will join us for some meals.
Expected work: 5... more inside

We are looking for help to refurbish our timber framed house to reduce its environmental impact. Fantastic, unique peaceful location but just 6 miles from the very centre of London. Anyone with carpentry, plumbing or gardening skills would be most welcome.

Accommodation is in the main house, own bedroom (pictured) with king sized futon and balcony. All meals can be provided, so long as you don't mind vegetarian cuisine. We also make excellent coffee. There are also plenty of shops and cafes within very easy walking distance.

At this stage we're looking for short term helpers rather than long term help, so a 2-4 night stay. 4 hours help per day would be appreciated, but this can certainly be negotiated - you definitely need time to explore the local area, and it's a ten minute train journey into the centre if you want to go sightseeing.
