"As a volunteer at Chisholme House you are appreciated for who you are, not only for what you do."

This is a place of great beauty set in the heart of the Scottish Borders. It is primarily a school and retreat centre. The 187 acre estate offers an ideal space in which to retreat, engage in study and experience the reviving effect of being close to nature.

We accept help throughout the year but at the moment we are particularly looking for help over the summer. Come and join volunteers from all over the world for a week or two of satisfying work in Chisholme's walled garden and estate - and help too in preparing the wonderful meals for which we are famous. You can come for one of our special volunteer weeks when a programme of activities complements work outside - or at any other time. Please see the website for more details http://www.chisholme.org/whats-on/upcoming-courses.html

Volunteers are a vital part of life here. You may be involved in diverse activities such as ... more inside

We run a busy Bed and Breakfast facility within our family home, which is situated in a small picturesque village called Plockton, on the mainland of the north west highlands. We are near the Isle of Skye. During the season we would welcome your help with the B&B and any help around the home/garden during the day would also be welcome . You would have your own room with it's own bathroom facility near by.

There is a vibrant traditional music scene in the village, beautiful walks around the coast and the countryside, it also attracts its fair share of artists who take inspiration from its location in the Scottish Highlands. The village is situated on the shores of a sea loch, and provides availability of water sports during the summer season.

You'll be made very welcome. BUT RIGHT NOW we can't take visitors
This is a Cotswold house with a large garden ...I need help to get the house and garden ready for visitors and also while we have people staying.
You'd have your own comfortable room and be expected to work with me and unsupervised on everything from gardening, cleaning, DIY and decorating - maybe even teaching and art work if you like that kind of thing? We'll be around so you can ask questions if you need help with stuff. It's a lovely part of the world.

This is a community growing initiative. We are currently implementing estate wide permaculture solutions across the beautiful estate at Stanford Hall. Our current project is the launching of a 7 acre community supported agriculture scheme that will provide vegetables and educational activities for local schools, community growers and surrounding villages. The scheme is utilising no dig, biodynamic principles along side many other cutting edge agricultural techniques.

To get this pioneering scheme off the ground we need to bring together a diverse team of individuals. We've set up 5 cosy yurts with wood burning stoves, right on the banks of the river Avon. There is access to toilets, hot showers, a canteen and communal recreational area, and a chef on site to cook and take care of everyone.

There are tasks to suit all abilities and experience levels, so if you'd like to be a part of this exciting project please get in touch.

Are you available from mid-February for a few weeks? Have you got some gardening skills, practical skills like painting and do you like dogs/cats? Is your English of intermediate level or above? I am looking for a disciplined and hard-working person to help with the following: taking care of dog & cat one or two days a week, some housework, cleaning and occasional cooking. Some garden work - mainly pruning and tidying. The house is in north London, 10 minutes walk from train station and shops. Dog and cat are part of the family - so you need to like animals, not have any allergies etc. In return I can offer a nice environment, good, home-cooked food and help with your English as I am an English teacher. If you are preparing for an English exam or need better English for job applications, this could be a good opportunity for you. You would need to provide references either from the HelpX website or elsewhere. I look forward to hearing from you.

The work will mostly be helping with cleaning our holiday rentals, painting & decorating and some garden work.

The 325 year old farmhouse is equipped with a walled garden, an orchard, a paddock and polytunnels and is situated in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, nestled between the historic city of Salisbury and the New Forest, one of England's most treasured forest and heaths. With beautiful views great walks and an abundance of wildlife.

We are preferably looking for a couple or two friends with experience in outdoor work to help us transform the 5 acre piece of greenery into a multifaceted living organism. The work will involve working alongside Paul & Charlotte in the walled garden/kitchen garden and developing the allotment area (this could be weeding, planting, pruning, sowing, watering and tending to the vegetables of the time, as well potentially being involved in some our larger projects which will develop over the this year and next).

If you like books, peace and quiet, then you will like my house...it is untidy though, so anyone with OCD should stay away.
