My partner & I moved in August 2012 & have been working hard at setting this place up as a self-sufficient organically run smallholding. We are located in the beautiful valley of Glenasmole on the foothills of the Dublin Mountains.

The holding is made up of 8.5 acres which is set out into several paddocks, there are also stables & plenty of sheds. The sand arena has become our veg garden & it is laid out in some raised beds & a polytunnel, with loads more to make.

We also now have another 13 acres rented from a neighbor.

We have had volunteers from September to December in 2012 and this was our first ... more inside

Hello.

I am looking for 2-3 people (solo travellers or groups) who would be willing to work 5 hours a day for accommodation and board from the 16th of January for two weeks. Help needed with simple house restoration, gardening and general maintenance in exchange for friendly interesting home, comfortable lodgings, fireside evenings and lovely local pub. And even the odd day trip to remarkable locations.

The house and garden are situated in the midst of beautiful landscape in the county of Sligo - lakes, mountains and an odd day trip to the sea.

If you are travelling in Ireland and interested in this exchange please do not hesitate to contact me as soon as is possible.

Many thanks,
Suki

I also have a small sailing boat that needs a clean up for the coming season, and my Citroen 2CV is in need of a rebuild! Irelands only award winning ECO Village is a 5 minute walk from my house.
