Welcome to my quiet but fun 3 acre semi-rural property, 20 minutes' walk to the Hurstbridge train station and town centre. Melbourne city is less than 1 hour by train and the local area features some interesting vineyards, art producers and boutique organic food producers.
As a guest at my place, you will have your own bedroom with a double bed, wardrobe and desk, bathroom, and shower. There are musical instruments to play, wifi internet and a lounge room with a tv I rarely use.
I live by myself with my dog and there are often friends popping in and hanging out socially. I love cooking and have a great kitchen so welcome the opportunity to learn new cooking styles and will provide ingredients to facilitate this.
I would prefer guests to be 25 years or more.
The property has a big shed and workshop to play in for those inclined. In return I have 4 hours / day (which I'm happy to compress to allow free days) of simple house renovation tasks like painting, gardening and property m... more inside

I need assistance in home maintenance:
trim the garden, wash walls prepare the walls then paint. I will be very grateful for this help.I am also interested in helpers with carpentry skills.
I am now a helpx host expert and have had much appreciated help from a range of helpers from all over the world. Helpx has provided me with much needed help and social opportunities as I took my helpers to dinner or the movies to just to plain relax and go for a walk.
Helpers enjoy my location, second bathroom, bicycle and plenty of food in the fridge.

Hi All,

We are a friendly vegetarian couple with 2-boys (11-yrs and 3-years). We have an 18-acre 'uncertified' organic farm with a home/shed/studio and dome just outside the sweet little town of Castlemaine, Central Victoria (just over an hour from Melbourne direct by train). We grow over 300 fruit and nut trees, have a large vegetable garden and are always building. We are currently half way through building our main house using lots of unique natural building techniques.

We are really interested in all things permaculture and natural building aligned. We have many permaculture systems in development on our land and our house build is passive solar strawbale with earth render.

We are looking for 1-3 people at any time who share similar passions and specifically who may have some building or horticultural experience, or at least an interest.

We are looking for someone who ideally could chip away at this project sometimes unassisted (but under direction) and would also ... more inside

Hello there, I run a Free Range Egg farm in East Gippsland that supplies eggs from Sale to Lakes Entrance. We currently have a stock rate of 1401 chickens and operate using a free to roam, always pastured practice. We use Maremmas to guard our stock against predators as well as having some comical Alpaccas. We do not use chemicals on the property, and also run a small herd of cattle for our own consumption. We also have a flock of free range ducks that roam the property, and across the road, 1 cat, 2 golden retrievers and 1 sheep.
Work duties will involve such things as egg collection, lawn and general mowing, maybe some carpentry or fabrication, or perhaps you could bring your own set of skills to the farm and improve us along the way. Helping with egg deliveries and of course being a willing coffee drinker and conversationalist

I am currently open to both short and long term stays. Having your own transport would be an advantage, as we are about 20 minutes from town, and it... more inside
