we live on 4.5 acres of reclaimed tropical dairy land in the green tropics of far north queensland.
the atherton tablelands elevation ensures slightly cooler and more comfortable temperatures than the coast.
our property is peaceful and green. at night, you can see the milky way clearly and hear the johnston river at the end of the road.
we have been planting for the last few years in an effort to provide habitat for birds and mammals and have finally successfully attracted a lumholtz tree kangaroo to our property.

we need assistance with the garden: basic weeding and mulching and pruning.
my husband milks cows twice a day for a neighbouring farmer, and i run two small businesses.

your accomodation is a very comfortable latex mattress on a teak daybed in the spacious and colourful weaving and spinning studio next to the kitchen.
we all share a single, very modern bathroom.
our home is a converted boat shed...spacious and open plan.

We are Barb and Dave and we live in wildlife country just north of Toowoomba. We have about 30 hectares that we are preparing for cattle, but at the moment we have just a few horses. We are looking for a girl or couple of girls to help out. We would consider anyone (male or female) who is a qualified or experienced house painter :-))

The main jobs you will do will be cleaning, gardening and helping me keep control of the house and farm. I also need help scanning a heap of old photos and sorting them out - a time consuming job that I haven`t been able to get started on. If you are a painter, all of our window frames and sills need repainting even thought the house is only seven years old. I am learning Spanish, so would love to have someone who would be keen to talk to me - but not necessary.

You will have your own room and usually your own bathroom, depending on what`s happening when you come. You will help about 25 hours a week, and we are flexible about when you do this -... more inside

Hi, we are located in the upper freestone valley with freestone creek on one side and willy's gully running through the middle of the farm. The farm is mixed grain and cattle, we grow crops including corn, sorghum, forage sorghum, oats, wheat, barley, chickpeas and mungbeans. There are 45 head of cattle, 1 horse, 2 dogs, a few chickens and a range of native animals. While Jess works and stays in Brisbane 4 night's a week, I work the farm. I also have 3 children going to school that are 11, 13, and 15 years old. They are reasonably self sufficient and help me when I ask that them, but some help with day to day chores would be much appreciated.
So I'm offering food and acommadation in excange for a casual 4 hour's a day to help out in the house and around the farm. The kids are here 7 days in every 14 days, so not as much help is needed in the 7 days they are not here. Which would allow host to see some of the local attractions in the area. I do not have a spare vehicle here at th... more inside

OCTOBER through to MARCH
I have a horse riding business with horses. I would love one female/male who has even limited horse experience eg. rugging the horses experiene. Also some minor farm work; whipper, watering, growing vegies, perhaps some cleaning. I have a one bedroom apartment.

My property is beautiful and 8 minutes drive from Port Douglas whereupon there are a multitude of fun things to do.

I am one hour north of Cairns and 1 hour from Atherton Tablelands. I am on the coast in Far North Queensland, Australia.

Please note: For logistical reasons we can only take 1 person, no exceptions!

We are a fun loving family with 2 children (16 and 15), 3 dogs, 1 cat and 2 horses that is looking for assistance with household, garden and animal care (horses). We live on a 2 acre property in the Redlynch Valley, 15 min away from Cairns CBD.
We have live-in accommodation available with breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. Our house has a pool, plenty of space and Wifi.
It would be great if you had experience in horse handling. However there are a lot of other jobs to do. There is approx. 4-5 hours work to be done daily: household duties, gardening like weeding, brush-cutting, fruit picking (mangoes, jakfruit, starfruit, bananas depending on season) etc, horse related tasks e.g. picking up horse manure, feeding, grooming...

We usually go to Cairns City twice a week and you are welcome to come with us.
Please contact us for more information.
