We are a young couple, who have a family-owned farmhouse on the beautiful sheepshead peninsula. The area is well known for its stunning scenery. We are in the process of renovating the house, this and our gardens are our main focus for the next couple of years. We are looking for independent, self-motivated people who can use their own initiative but also work well as part of a team. This is important as there will be various different people helping out at different stages during the project. The work will be varied but mainly focused on the renovation project which is still at the deconstruction stage!

You will have use of bikes (we are approx 8 mile/45 minute cycle to Bantry) and kayaks. Look up www.thesheepshead.com to see the area detail. We live only a mile from the sea and the Sheep's Head Way is on our door step. We eat a mainly vegetarian diet and meat a few times a week.

At the moment we are both working in Rachel's family business (healthfood Shop, Cafe and Bakery)... more inside

I live in an old rented lodge house, about 5 miles from Bandon, on a rural road. It is very beautiful but also cold and fairly basic. There is only limited mobile phone coverage, and very slow internet. So you can count time you spend here as a sort of retreat!!
There is a piece of land behind the house which I am gradually turning into a garden - using plants that like waterlogged ground as I have learned that this soil is very badly drained...so most veg don't do well, and i want to work with what i have rather than try to change it to suit me, and a piece of woodland which has mostly been cleared from brambles this last year- and a small pond dug, but which I envision with glades and bluebells. There is a hammock from which you can lie and envision too! I would like help with cutting back and digging out the majority of the brambles, making the garden, and fencing. Gathering and chopping wood is also important Inside I need rooms painted. I also would like you to look after my... more inside

House by the sea with garden in the countryside. House warm and comfortable with all mod cons. We are a laid back couple who live on our own. Children grown up and living away. We aren't vegetarian but can happily accommodate vegetarians and people with different dietary exclusions. We enjoy meeting people from different cultures. Mandy speaks French and Spanish. We both work. We like music and entertaining. Mandy loves gardening. There is a village about 20 minutes along the beach or about 2 miles by the road. We used to have couchsurfers to stay. We would be interested in people helping in the garden a bit. It's nice to have company when gardening. If you don't like gardening there are DIY jobs to help with. We would like maybe 3 hours awork a day, 5 days a week. Jobs to be discussed and if you don't want to do one job we can find another you like. If we are off work we will try to take you to visit places of interest and help you plan outings. The beach is very nice for walking,... more inside

I'm seeking one person or two friends/ couple to help in garden and home. Tasks will include weeding, hedge cutting, some tree planting, cleaning and painting. (and some carpentry if you have those skills). I prefer if helpers are mature maybe 23yrs plus as you will be living in a nice mobile home adjacent to my home. I live in a beautiful rural area of Co. Clare. My house is small and simple and is situated 1km from the shores of Lough Derg. Closest village/town is 9km. Bicycle is available for use.
There is plenty to do close by- canoeing or kayaking, hill-walking, discovering historical sites and holistic activities to name but a few, while simply being part of the local community for a while.
Closest city; Limerick. Closest town; Killaloe or Ennis. Closest village; Tuamgraney,Scarriff. From Dublin; take train/bus(Dublin Coach) to Birdhill or Annacoty (on Limerick route).

Skipper of 1930's traditional wooden sailing lugger has recently purchased land in south west Ireland on a small island called Bere island in the very beautiful and rugged Beara penninsula. We are hoping to go fully sustainable in food and shelter. Lee is also preparing sailing boats to fish under sail with and happy to have keen volunteers he can share his building skills with.
We have erected a yurt so far and accomodation for helpers in recycled liferaft tents. We are clearing and draining overgrown, wet land to prepare allotment plots for growing food. volunteers will have to contribute to their own food costs until we have enough food growing to feed people. we need volunteers to help work the land including building stone walls, moving equipment, making compost toilets, digging veg plots. We have plans to build a water wheel and keep chickens, goats, bees and a cow.
It's not all hard work however so we've got plenty of toys to keep people entertained including sailing, kay... more inside
