Hey,
A while ago I bought a little place in the Auvergne region in France because I love to spend my time in a quiet, natural and green environment.

The house is situated in the countryside, some 25 km from Vichy and 50 km from Cleremont-Ferrand. The region is slightly mountainous, we are mostly surrounded by cows and bees and there are many opportunities to go on hikes .

I would like to find some people who want to give me a helping hand in the months of May and June. This year the work mainly consist of pointing (renovating) the stone walls. Furthermore there are some painting chores, gardening and just enjoying life!

I can offer you the accommodation of the house and environment and a private bedroom (including use of the kitchen, bathroom, food, laundry, internet).
If you love nature, want to help me out, you're so welcome!

Im currently building a house in the country side of france for myself as well as 13 handicap people. There is a lot of work to do on the project, such as roofing, brick-laying, electrical work and plumbing. The frame of the house has been completed along with the kitchen and a few rooms. I also have a peaceful garden with two donkeys, a goat, dog, chickens, ducks and geese. The volunteers would live in the house with me while working on the construction. Meals are provided but you can also cook for yourself. The work is not very complicated but is very labour intensive, but there is also a lot of basic work such as painting etc, actually my principal work is to build a wall with stones... Volunteers can stay however long they like, ranging from one week, or until completion. Please contact me by email.
voilà, c'est aussi l'occasion d'apprendre le français et de partager de bons moments autour de la table en fin de journée... j'ai pas mal voyagé à travers les continents et j'appréc... more inside

I am the Dutch owner of a small former farm in the Allier (north Auvergne) which I am renovating.
Some weeks during spring, summer and autumn I could use some help outside and inside the house and other buildings.

We have been living and working here for the last 17 years. The property is set in 23 acres (9.25 hectares) and is made up of a hunting lodge, farmhouse and a rundown Porcherie. Jennifer is a catering manager in hospitality for a motor sport team, Malcolm is a working musician. Malcolm also works as a professional antique stove restorer, so there are always interesting architectural antiques about the place. We are both in our 50s. Jennie has a wide repertoire in the kitchen and is quite happy to teach those that are willing. She can teach the following cuisines: Indian; French; Cordon Bleu and good old fashioned English country cooking. Jennie is also an excellent vegetarian cook.

We have three adorable donkeys, three miniature black sheep, a flock of interesting breed chickens, a pond full of Indian runner ducks and a Toulouse goose. We also have four cats one of which is a pedigree Maine Coon. We have a productive veggie plot which helps to feed us throughout the year. We look... more inside

Description

In the most beautiful valley of the Puy Mary we bought several ruined buildings and a deserted farm in an isolated spot right in the middle of nature. We need to rebuild houses, barns an old mill while taking care of ourselves, the animals and the vegetable garden.

We could do with some help, be it for shoppping, cooking, fencing, gardening, or more heavy stuff like road building, deforestation, rebuilding old stone walls or retapping the ancient walls of the buildings.

Languages spoken

Dutch, English, French, German

Accommodation

tent or caravan very modest conditions, since in full process of renovation

What else ...

Although village and town are not far off, please be aware that we live in the middle of nature without much modern comfort conditions. You must like solitude and nature

I'm living in full countryside at 1000 meters in Aubrac, a beautiful area in the south of Auvergne. My house is very old with a very nice view. I'm working on markets in touristic villages, selling olives, spices, dry fruits, nuts. I need a helper for some markets. I can lend my car to the helper. I provide a bedroom and food. I speak english.

We run a Chambres d'hotes in the volcanic Auvergne region of central France. We have 2 young donkeys who are looking forward to going out for lots of walks in the area. We are looking for someone to help out with some of their schooling, therefore, someone with some equine experience. Other duties would consist of light household jobs and gardening. Anything else would be dependent on your DIY skills. We would also prefer if you are either side of July and August - outside of the main holiday season.
If you enjoy mountain biking and walking, the area is full of lovely views. There is also plenty to do in the area - paper and cutlery museums, lots of bird life, or just peace and quiet!
If this sounds like it could be for you, please get in touch - we look forward to meeting you!
