We currently have a vacancy. A couple would be great, or a couple of friends who don't mind sharing a large queen bed! Singles also welcome.

There are two 1000 metre greenhouses which we used recently to grow calla lily flowers for export but no longer do these, and succulents (over 70 types) for garden shops, Trademe and the local farmer's market. You can see some of them here: https://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=1135847

We usually have a few cattle, and a timid little girl dog. In winter we have citrus fruit here which starts just when the fejoas are finished. Right now we have lots of mandarins. We also have an orchard with plums, peaches, apples, pears, nashi and others. All are eat as much as you want. None of the fruit trees have ever been sprayed because we have never got around to it. They also need a good prune so if you have any skills there it would be great.

Our property is divided by a semi-permanent creek which we've been told has good siz... more inside

Hi , I'm Pete.
I have a 5 hectare farmlet in the Bay of Islands NZ.
I also have a 15 meter live aboard trawler style launch with sails , this is where i spend most of the time . We are based in Paihia but do travel around NZ waters and some winters head to Fiji and surrounding islands in the south pacific .
I am happy to provide a place on the boat and to share my knowledge of the ocean environment to those interested .
In general the ideal length of stay is one week and up to four weeks .
The boat is safe and comfortable and my experience as a skipper is extensive .
In exchange for this unique experience aboard i need help with the never ending maintenance the comes with boats , mostly polishing the metal work , general cleaning and some painting , oh and some cooking , though i am a good cook it is always nice to have meals from other cultures .
If you are a fast learner and easy going attitude and would like this experience then please do get in touch , thank you .

I have a beef farm about 20 minutes drive out of Kaikohe or 50 minutes to Kerikeri, the Bay of Islands or Whangarei. It is one of the larger properties listed on helpx. Ideally I would like someone who can help with a variety of tasks; ranging from cleaning windows, housework, perhaps lawnmowing, or helping around the farm and cattle with seasonal tasks. Couples or 2 friends are welcome. Very flexible work hours. Normally, 4 hours work for bed & all meals. However, if it suits someone to work extra hours some days so they can take a full day off, to go sightseeing in the area, on another day, that can work too. I prefer meat eaters as that works in well with my meals. Also someone easy going, willing to learn and flexible. Accommodation is a large, private, comfortable bedroom, queen sized bed and ensuite bathroom. As I am out of town you need your own transport. Non smokers only please.

We are a easy going couple in our thirties who have a 16 acre farm that we brought nearly five years ago. As we now have a 4 year old gorgeous wee girl, and my partner works long hours in his family business, we could really do with some help on the farm to continue building our dream.
A friend of ours also lives here with his partner in his tiny house on the property.
We also have a couple of caravans and some cabins onsite.
We started on our property with only a caravan and a bare block. We now have built a shack around our caravan and have some other infrastructure in place like large chook coups, gardens, compost toilet and compost bins, dirt bike track, woodshed, yards and more.
We have currently built some new cabins for us to live in and our shack we used to live in is now a self contained helper quarters, with kitchen, pool table, dart board and tv.
We could do with a hand with painting and other building type jobs/projects.
We all follow similar ideas for the fa... more inside
