We are Muriel and Evan, a retired couple. I was an ESL teacher for many many years and Evan has done a variety of jobs including local politician, builder and tiler.

Just 5 minutes by car from Kuaotunu Beach, our home was designed and built by my Evan. It is situated in acres of NZ native forest. Whitianga is a 15 minute drive away. It's a lovely little town with a great selection of beach and ocean activities on offer.

We are keen on helpers interested in working in the forest to make paths and clearings and also collect firewood. Other help includes gardening, house maintenance, dog-walking. We are particularly keen on help with painting our roof, if you have skill in this area.

We need help doing general gardening, landscaping. Some cleaning inside if it is raining. Possibly some firewood collection that will require heavy lifting & would suit a couple.
We have a large 5 bedroom home. You would have your own room with a queen bed. Own toilet and shower, or use the main bathroom. Rooms are inside the house, not in a outdoor flat. We have 3 children (6, 3 & 2yrs).
4 hours help in exchange for home-cooked food and board. Please let us know if you are vegetarian/vegan so we can prepare.
10 min drive from Hot Water Beach and live next to a craft brewery.
We're a genuine, happy family who need a bit of help around the place.

I live in the centre of Thames in a small two bedroom house with my dog, Lyra. Helpers usually sleep in the garden studio which is a great space and gives us both some privacy as well as some togetherness. You will help in the house and garden, walking the dog is great too and if you can cook the occasional meal even better.

we live in private homes, with our own gardens and orchards on a communally owned block of land, our principles are poison free; trap pests, cull wilding pines and gums and generally look after about 300 hectares of bush. We also have to maintain a 3km stretch of road. We have weekly potluck meals where you will be able to meet other people who live here. There are about 30 adults and 6 children and babies. We are looking for help in the garden for a couple of hours a day, and will then provide 1 meal a day, so you would have to bring your own supplies for your other meals and for days that we cannot work. There are also other people here who probably will want your help on the same basis.

Large comfortable home with developing gardens in rural area just outside Thames. We are looking for help with firewood, landscaping, and general gardening. All our tasks are reasonably heavy at the moment, so please consider that when applying.
We are an 'empty nest' couple these days, who enjoy wholesome hearty meals with ingredients from the garden where possible. You are welcome to share our evening meal and help yourself to toast and cereal breakfast, sleep in a comfortable bed, have largely exclusive use of the adjoining bathroom and log onto our wifi in exchange for four hours' help a day with no work on the day you arrive and work the day you leave.Helpers will need to have their own transport and supply their own lunch.

Our home is in the beautiful Kauaeranga Valley where there are many walks and summer river swimming opportunities.
