A small 5 acre block in early stages of being planted as a food forest and permaculture block. Very rural, on a gravel road, in a NZ drystock farming/forestry area. Help want with varied activities such as fence building, digging, making garden beds, creating compost heaps, working in potting nursery shed, planting trees and plants, mulching. Attending to care and feeding of a small herd of rescue animals including goats, sheep, chickens and ducks. Building animal pens and shelters. Maybe chopping and stacking firewood or just collecting pine cones. Opportunities to learn about permaculture as you work.

Hi, we're a busy family of four, Mum, Dad with two kids 16 and 11. We live about 20mins south of Palmerston North and about one and a half hours drive North of Wellington.
We're in a beautiful rural area with breath taking views, fresh air and loads of room to move.
We have a dog, two cats, chickens and some grazing stock. We've both travelled and love international visitors in our home to broaden our children's cultural experiences and develop their desire to see this beautiful world.
We enjoy cooking, baking, entertaining. We eat most meals from off the farm, vegetable garden and mostly home-made. Our interests as a family are travel, golf, thrift shopping, up cycling, sewing, designing, art, a wide range of sports, movies and heading out to the nearby beach house to relax.
We're offering a Help Exchange for accommodation and all meals for help with jobs around the house and farm. Weekends free and very happy to arrange times that suit everyone.
We have a double room and a si... more inside

Greetings from the beautiful Kapiti Coast, on the west coast of the lower North Island.

I need some help with doing some house renovations. Mostly interior painting, some wallpaper stripping. Outside painting too. Maybe some demolition and re-lining walls depending on abilities. Also lawn weeding. There is so much to be done, you can choose what you would like to help with.

The Beautiful Kapiti coast offers the beach and ocean (beach access just across the road from the house), a beautiful island bird sanctuary, amazing bush walks, with the Tararua ranges offering longer hiking if you’re that way inclined. Wellington City is an hour away by train. 45 mins by car.

I have a lovely sunny backyard to relax in, and a big vege patch with some things to harvest (soon!), and a spa pool in the garden. Laundry facilities available.

Minimum stay 2 nights, maximum one week.
Three hours of work a day in exchange for a comfy bed and bedding, and breakfast foods. If you like to ... more inside

This is a simple bach, 5 min walk to a beautiful beach and stream. There is a kayak, bikes and boogie board for use. A small fridge, small stove, shower and composting toilet. A great viewing platform where you can sit and relax and see the beach.

This place is available only sometimes, as it is our holiday and occasional week long hangout, not our permanent abode. However, you can be here before we arrive or after we leave and we make it overlap where we can. Just enquire and discuss.

Just email me and I let you know if we are there.

We consist of my partner Natalie, myself, and our 4 children, ranging from 4y to 15 y of age, and a dog. Sometimes we take two chickens. Sometimes it's just three of us.

Please check with us via email if you are interested. It's a great stop on your way to Wellington or North from Wellington.

I would ask you to help for 2.5 hr per night you stay, and provide your own food.
Help is largely needed for jobs like weeding, lawnmowing... more inside

We are located in Masterton, about 1.5 hours North East of Wellington in a rural area.
We run a Day Spa called "Changes MediSpa" adjacent to our beautiful 1910 two-storey Manor House that we are restoring.
We run an accommodation business from a Wing of the Manor House with 9 rooms, with shared facilities and a separate lounge area. You will stay in your own large bedroom with en-suite facilities in the main family house.
We also have a few rental properties, including one next door which has a small orchard area and a small Copse that was damaged badly in recent storms by falling trees. There is always grounds maintenance and minor home maintenance on all of these.

Katie and I both work full time in our respective businesses and are desperate for any help around the house. A daily duty during the week will be preparing and serving the evening meal which takes approximately 30 minutes from a meal package delivered weekly. Other duties will include changing light bulbs, spouti... more inside

FAMILY
I,James was brought up on the family farm in the area and worked as a mechanical engineer before traveling and working abroad extensively for about 5 years. Upon returning to NZ, I decided to return to farming to enjoy the outdoors and hands on work. I purchased Millstone Farm 9 years ago and have two kids, Elsa and Maxime who spend time with us on the farm and in town with their mum.

There are four working farm dogs, and an old favorite who is retired but keeps an eye on what everyone is up to.

FARM
320Ha sheep and beef farm. I winter around 1400 sheep and 350 cattle and this year will be rearing 400 calves. Day to day work depending on the time of year includes feeding the calves milk and meal in the morning as well as feeding, sorting and moving stock which also need health treatments from time to time. The afternoon usually leaves time for projects or extra jobs that need doing, fencing, tree planting/pruning, weeds to control or buildings to maintain- you name i... more inside

WE ARE LOOKING FOR HELPERs who are competent riders and can assist us with getting our horses fit for hunting and eventing. Comfortable home with pool and tennis court available.

We are a family of 4 - Scottish/Kiwi. I work locally and part-time. We live in a 6 bedroom house, so you can have your own space and bathroom. In exchange we would expect you to get up when the family gets up and partake in tasks which would in general involve the horses, (eg mucking out the paddock, cleaning tack and riding.) and gardening. However other skills such as and cooking are appreciated!

Our interests are varied and with a 15 Year old we are always on the go and would like you to join in as many family activities as possible such as back yard cricket, swimming in the river and a bit of tennis, so if you are more of a couch potato, we may not be right match for you!

When you email us, please tell us what jobs you enjoy and how much riding experience you have. We are particularly in... more inside

Gardening and spring cleaning type jobs and farm work if suits.
Helpers are welcome to ride and enjoy the horses and will find their riding skills grow as there is a safe older horse or younger more spirited horses to choose from.

Due to a change in my circumstances I have a new house with the section mostly unfinished and undeveloped - it was previously neglected and overgrown with weeds before the house was built.

I need some help with clearing and establishing a garden. Some heavy lifting (bags of compost, stones and bark etc). Some heavy digging to clear out the weeds. I have done much of it myself and I found it to be hard work. (Maybe partly due to my age!)

In particular I also need help with some basic carpentry skills to build edges and garden boxes, and put up a trellis. I have some power tools - drill, small chainsaw etc but I don't have the skill to use them.

The house is new, fully completed and furnished but the section is only partly developed.

Accommodation and meals are provided in exchange for four hours per day help. I can be flexible about how helpers might arrange work/free time

I do not have pets and would prefer helpers that do not smoke or have pets.

I have a twin be... more inside

We are unable to host until after 1 February 2019.

We are a friendly, fit couple who have travelled widely and enjoy meeting people from other countries. It would be a bonus to have assistance of 4 hours a day as our lovely property and house has lots of challenges.

We live only 500 metres off State Highway 1, and only 6 minutes by car from the town of Levin. We are just over an hour north of Wellington, the Capital of New Zealand which is also the transit point to the South Island.

Levin is a town with 20,000 people and is the agricultural centre for the region. The North Island buses stop there – both Intercity and Nakedbus, and the commuter trains. We will arrange to pick people up and drop off Helpxers if required. There are various things to do in our area including going for tramps in the hills, going to the beaches and lakes and rivers, and exploring the lovely farms and seeing how green New Zealand is. There is lots of local Maori history. We like this area – we... more inside
