We are currently looking for someone to come and work with our 12 year old daughter and her new horse. We would like someone who works with natural horsemanship.

Or...someone keen on mountain biking who would work with the kids to build mountain bike tracks on the bush clad hills around the farm, teach some bike skills, or just have some fun with them.

Situated in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, on the waterfront, surrounded by bush clad hills, this is a most stunning place.
We are a homeschooling family with 3 children aged 8, 12 and 14.
We farm beef, and also have chickens, dogs, a horse and pet goats.
We are a 2.5 hr drive from Picton and Havelock, which are the closest towns/shops. You will need your own vehicle to get out here.
We can provide food and accommodation in return for 4 hours work per day.
There... more inside

Our farm is in a remote and magical scenic area of the outer Marlborough Sounds. We have a number of cattle and their calves, hens, our dog Trixie, our cat Elmo, 2 friendly pet sheep, Ivan and Mavis. There are always interesting things that need attending to on the farm and in our vegetable garden. We have many areas of garden and regenerating native bush. Plenty of variety on the projects. We have good beaches and nice walks. One to two weeks stay works best for us. Your own transport is the easiest or there is a passenger service from Rai Valley Village. Check out our website if you need public transport. https://cairnhill.nz/read-this.shtml and you can email us anytime for help.

GENERAL INFORMATION
We grow most of our own vegetables. We make compost and use animal manures as fertilisers.
With winter we action a great progressive project to plant and regenerate areas with hundreds of native trees. Creating windbreaks, animal shelter, and native bird habitat. Come and join ... more inside

We are a family in Marlborough on a sheep and beef farm, we have two boys.

We live 20 minutes south of Blenheim, which is at the top of the South Island.

We are looking for helpers to come for approx 1 week for general gardening and round the house jobs, Painting, gardening, weed wacking, carting fire wood, etc.

If you are a group of 3 we may be able to share you with another local farmer.

We run a large farm and odd jobs around the farm could be negotiated, so farming experience would be an advantage but definitely not necessary. A great personality and willingness to be part of our family is a must.

You will live in our home and be part of our family. We have two children so some childcare
(playing rugby on the lawn!) might be involved and basic meals,

If this sounds like you I would love to hear from you,

thank you

16 Sept - We are currently looking for help in the garden, staining a fence and splitting firewood with a machine.

General Info...
We run a small farm made up of a vineyard, with livestock including red deer, cattle and sheep. We are only 10 minutes by car to the town of Blenheim (pop 30,000). We are a family of 4 with 8 and 10 yr old boys.

There are many jobs available from fencing, pulling down old fences, painting, firewood, gardening, and general tidy up of the farm. - tell us what your skills are and we might find something that suits.. building, welding etc.. We would never expect anyone to do any jobs they don't feel comfortable doing.

You will stay in a self contained flat, with kitchen, own bathroom, living and queen bedroom at the end of our house.

We find it works well, having couples or 2 friends that are travelling together stay.

Usually we would appreciate 2-3 hours work (per day, per person) in exchange for just accommodation (no meals).

Hi

We are heading into the joys of spring and summer and are looking for all sorts of help. We are a small lodge with a restaurant and bar in the middle of the Pelorus Sounds. The help required is varied, and weather dependent, so we are looking for people who are flexible and who don't mind trying new things. Examples of what helpers have done so far, are things like helping with visiting tourists, helping in the restaurant, and housekeeping, upgrading the paths, landscaping, and improving some of the facilities. The rewards are many. The location is perfect if you enjoy hiking, fishing, kayaking, or swimming. We have seen orca and dolphin in our bay as well as rather beautiful stingray. There is also a lot of birdlife. It is just a beautiful and remote part of the world. You have to see it to fully appreciate it. If you are interested in helping any time from October on, please message me, but please note because we live in a place that is off grid with no roads ( access on... more inside
