Just me my dog and a house in the heart of small country town. Alot of friendly tourists pass through here in search of adventure land.

I Would be happy to welcome anyone passing through thats in need of accommodation or a place to park a camper-van, can have access to guest bedroom and the usual facilities, refresh, recharge, relax, eat, drink, smoke, be merry, each to his or her own desire. :)

I have many DIY jobs to do for anyone wanting to stay a little longer and help out.
(Establishing permaculture style backyard and garden, some renovations depending where im at, and a variety of creative ideas and uses of natural resources that are on my to do list! from out door pizza ovens to driftwood picnic tables)

But we are all in such a hurry these days so I am more for boosting the experience. :) (Thats what id want)

So for any adventurers reading I have enough kayaks to plop up to 4 people in the many slow moving tidal rivers around here and spend some leisure tim... more inside

We are a Christian homeschooling family with four children, living on a lifestyle block, five kms from Hokitika.
We have a house cow, sheep, pigs, ducks, dogs and cats.
Peter is a builder and runs his own business. We also co-own and help operate a campground. We are very family oriented.

We can offer a variety of experiences and jobs to help out with. These range from gardening, small landscaping projects, weeding, using light garden machinery ( weed slasher, mower) and farm equipment, (driving a tractor or farm bike). House cleaning. Animal care. Building experience. Sometime we have a tree planting project, where we plant heaps of trees around our campground or on our farm property.
Or helping out with any project we are currently doing around our home, farm or campground.

Accommodation would be in the guest wing of the house. This has a queen sized bed, its own bathroom.

We are not vegetarian. If you have dietary requirements please let us know in a... more inside

Hi, I am a mum of three boys aged 2-10 years. I am currently working part time as a teacher and would prefer for our youngest boy to be looked after at home (rather than go to preschool). So this position is for a person preferably with some experience looking after small children (although training will be provided). Hours are 8:30am to 1pm. Depending on your situation we may be able to offer you accommodation at our holiday house in Hokitika. This is a very tidy fully furnished beachside apartment with unlimited wifi, it is a 1 minute stroll to the supermarket and main shopping centre in Hokitika. Ideally you might be a female backpacker (although I would also consider a male, or a couple/ 2 people) or a local person in need of some extra money, accommodation or both! A vehicle may possibly be available to the right applicant (but your own vehicle would be preferable). A negotiable pay rate would also be available to the right applicant. Duties would include mainly just pla... more inside

I am a retired potter/wood worker/photographer who has moved into hobby fruit wine making. My daughter and I make mainly feijoa and cranberry wines. I grow both fruits, and have a tunnel house for growing house hold veggies. On my section I am renovating spaces for the production of the wine and landscaping to tidy up the section. I have good intentions but am pretty disorganised and work with little structure so any help moving things forward would be appreciated.

You'd have a double bedroom in a four bedroom, 2 bathroom house with 3 living spaces. I can offer meals and interesting conversation on the deck over wine.

I'm looking for 4 hours help a day with various projects including construction, landscaping, wine making, horticulture, and house maintenance. If you're able to proactively find things that need doing I'd really appreciate it or my daughter will be around to help prioritise projects.

If you want to experience the West Coast of the South Island you couldn't get better than this offer. The most amazing beachside spot, fully self contained, off the grid but only a few minutes drive to Hokitika which is an amazing town. I have installed an amazing outdoor shower and flush toilet. I'm looking for building / landscaping assistance or someone who can cook. I also have a couple of horses that need exercising if you are an accomplished rider. Nothing nicer than a beach ride at sunset. Open to all offers of help though, so lets just talk and see if you can help me.

We are a family with two kids age 8 and 12. we recently moved to Westport and have a 1930s bungalow that needs some TLC.
Most of this is not skilled work, but can be messy! Cleaning and fixing gutters, sanding and painting etc.
Some gardening also.

We spend a lot of time off camping and know the local area quite well from holidays. The local beaches are good for surf and both north and south of here are many walks and cycle tracks.
