Due to Covid-19, we have stopped taking HelpXers for the moment. We wish all young people a safe time as we weather the storm which is coming. All being well, we shall again be taking strong, young travellers from later September, approximately.

We're always interested in hearing from strong, young people willing and able to help us in the garden and on the farm - those who are also interested in sharing experiences and culture in a happy atmosphere. We prefer non-smokers and omnivores!

Over the years, we have enjoyed the company of over fifty HelpXers. We especially enjoy helping new arrivals settle into Australia during their GAP year or during tertiary studies, giving non-intrusive support and advice. Many of our HelpXers return for a second and sometimes third visit.

This is an old family property first established by Andrew’s Great Grandfather in the 1850s, although we now live on a small section of the original property. We formerly ran a merino sheep stud and t... more inside

Hello!

I'm Michael. I'm 38 years old and live by myself at Venus Bay with my pet wombat, Womby! It's a 5 minute walk to my local surf beach and 10-15 minute bike ride to local Venus Bay shops. There are sometimes 100's of kangaroos within a 5 minute walk from my house!

Victoria's famous Wilson's Promontory National Park is about 45 minutes by car, Phillip Island 45 minutes and Melbourne 2.5 hours.

I have photographed for 20+ years. ... more inside

We are not looking for Helpx people for our horse stud at the moment but will readvertise when we have vacancies. We provide an opportunity for backpackers who have an interest in horses to spend some time on a horse stud where horses are ridden and trained for dressage and jumping. Those that have established riding ability have an opportunity to ride and undertake instruction in riding, it provides a great opportunity to improve riding skills for those that are suitable. We have other horse related activities for those who cannot ride proficiently.

We have been training and breeding competition horses for over forty years and information about us is available on the web. For those that wish to review that information, Google search for our property name which is Northern Warmblood Stud, or Northern Warmbloods.

The property is approximately three and a half hours from Melbourne by bus, and daily bus services serves the local area from Melbourne. We have the full range of f... more inside

Dear helpx helpers due to the covid - 19 virus I am not currently able to take any helpers at this time. Hope you all stay safe and well.

I am on 24 beautiful acres of hilly granite country just 3km from the historic town of Maldon.
I am looking for some help in, September and October if restrictions due to the virus are eased by then.
Preferably looking for a couple to help with general gardening, weed control, pruning, vegetable garden, general clean up, painting. Experience using equipment like mowers, brushcutters, chainsaw would be good but not essential.
Also painting and cleaning of the self contained BnB cottage accommodation on my property. Could also be house maintenance tasks for anyone with skills in carpentry or building.
Private accommodation in a building separate to the main house with own bathroom and limited cooking facilities - queen bed and spectacular views. (See photos for building and view). Self catering breakfast supplies, other meals with ho... more inside

We're very sorry but weren't not taking helpers for the next few months. We hope to be available again later in the year.

We live in a wilderness retreat in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, by the Tambo River along the Great Alpine Road.

We offer accommodation in a either a cosy bedroom or a vintage caravan, inside the shed. The shed has a wood fire and is a short walk from the house. We share our meals together and make our guests feel at home in our house.

We provide great food and campfire cooking - a genuine Australian bush experience - in exchange for 4-5 hours work a day, helping with building, bush regeneration and landscaping.

At the moment we are completing building and bush regeneration work, so ideally need people who have experience in building, landscaping or gardening, and are willing to undertake physical work. We have been affected by the recent bushfires so there is a lot of regeneration work we need to do.

Update 24th March - we are unable to host new helpXers at the moment.

We are currently full as we are hosting 2 previous helpxers who are now stuck in limbo due to border closures and another 2 previous helpXers are returning to us tomorrow after their flight home to France was cancelled.

Stay safe everyone

When we can host again we can offer you fun, laughter, sightseeing and help with improving your English (as well as accommodation and food) in exchange for 3-4 hours help per day per helper (depending on the jobs). Happy to make it a couple of full days work followed by a couple of days off with me available to drop you off and pick you up from local sights if you don't have a car.

We welcome you to become part of our family during your stay and enjoy sitting around the dinner table in the evenings and learning about where you are from and your previous travels and future plans. ** We have no vacancies at the moment **

Calling all horse people! We'd love your help to look after our horses and help get them ready for daily exercising and the occasional competition. Things like feeding, watering, rugging (when required), catching, brushing, tacking up, lunging, untacking, returning to paddocks, cleaning stables...if you like to spend time with a few different equine, canine and feline friends (not to mention human too) then this is the place for you!

Most of the time you will be working independently with the horses, so please only contact me if you are confident working with them.

Our horses are either competition horses or young horses in training, so we can't offer lessons or a horse to ride, unless you are a very experienced dressage rider who is capable of training young horses.

Help is required for around 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. Weekends and afternoons are free for you to have time to yourself - sleep, swim, explore, play wit... more inside
