I'm a beekeeper that works between Cairns and Bloomfield. I mainly stay in Bloomfield/Ayton .
This time of year my work is situated north of cairns so there plenty opportunity to explore north were not alot of tourist go.

The work involves collecting bee hives fodr honey extraction and queen bee rearing this gives us plenty of time to explore the local areas. Making bee hives is another job in Bloomfield which is situated 35 km north of Cape Tribulation 500m from the Weary Bay Beach and a few kilometers from the Bloomfield River. In spare time we like to show guest the Bloomfield River and it Crocodile population.

Task also involve house work and gardening.

This time of year is great for swimming and crocodile spotting.

The work is not hard, suits male or females and is always varied, recreational activities after work as swimming, hanging out at the beach, camping, crocodile spotting and reef trips.

Mangosteen season is over and now it is tree trimming time so if you are handy with a bush saw, can climb trees then I have a vacancy for volunteers. About to start taro replanting so hay rolling is next on the agenda. I have a French agricultural student for 3 months doing an internship so prefer non French as he is here to improve his English. If you are French then speaking French will be forbidden!!!! Plenty of catch up stuff to do as well now the wet season is over, I was pretty badly damaged by the January floods so lots of repair work with the irrigation system. This is an isolated farm so only for those who love the bush and nature.
My farm is on the banks of the Daintree River in far north Queensland, 100kms north of Cairns. I grow Mangosteens and Taro. Accomodation is in two spare rooms in the house. Access is by boat only so it is a bit like living on an island, if you have a 4WD then there is a bush track which is passable in the dry season only, otherwise it is p... more inside

No Vacancy

I'd love to have you all, but have no vacancy till further notice.

Old Queenslander, not far from town.
The house was built in 1920 and has been extensively restored over the years. It has a pool, WIFI, a washing machine and a few tools should you need to fix your gear. It also has a very over grown garden that needs attention. Whilst I clean my own sh.... there is always a bit spring cleaning required (can also be in autumn or winter or summer). And there is "Monty the horrible" that needs cuddles and loves walks.
Cooking can be be shared or I cook (not a good choice). Working 2 hours per day or 4 hours and a day off or similar. I am not too stressed as long as everyone get a fair deal.
I am working from home and on weekends often go camping, bush walking, biking or kayaking, there is always room for one or two more.
I am an ex diving instructor and World Traveller in "remission" (not doing too well), so I understand your needs.

Okay...I am ready to start again in a more low key aspect. I have had a break to do a couple of Holidays. So lets get going together.

I am seeking practical minded experienced people with an idea how to do renovation /repairs......It is time to stop major projects as most are completed. This is now the time to re-organise everything back into some sort of order. There is stuff everywhere in a very bad order. So time to make tidy. There is still the topcoat of interior painting to be done. Sanding of doors and varnishing.

Even basic skills in carpentry, woodworking, sanding and painting, general repairing. I can advise how to do things, but I need to have people who have good common sense and previous experience to be able to teach you practical skills.

Odd job / handyman or handywoman helper or
carpenter / woodworking / painting / sanding
...4~5 hrs per day per person 5 days per week.

A family home at the end of a valley surrounded by rainforest located between Port Douglas and Mossman.
Perfectly located 15mins to the closest port to visit The Great Barrier Reef.
This would be the perfect place to experience fauna and flora. Lots of birds visit our gardens and wallabies and dingos reside in the valley.
The house is single storey and you would have your own large bedroom with bathroom overlooking our pool.
We can offer van parking space too.
We would love assistance with our garden, weeding, mulching, landscaping and vegie garden.
My husband and I would love to show you our beautiful surroundings.

We prefer a minimum of 1 week stay
If you are outgoing and love animals, clean, tidy, and love a good natter and a giggle, feel free to contact us.
