Elli and Graham`s home is a 19th Century wooden cottage in semi-rural surroundings. It has lots of natural timber floors and walls with a fine collection of period furniture. We are 2 minutes from train station and 50 minutes by train or 35 minutes by car to centre of Brisbane and 1 hour drive to Gold Coast. There are lots of nice walks and a sandy beach nearby and we have bikes for you. Catch a ferry to nearby Stradbroke Island to see dolphins, rays and turtles. [And whales in winter] We are an energetic couple who love reading and the house is full of books. We have a sailboat and sometimes we can offer a day out sailing. We like sharing different cultures and we`re looking for people who are easygoing, nature lovers and non-smoking.We prefer one or two people for one to two weeks duration but we are flexible. We have several projects including renovating our home, [carpenter particularly welcome] painting the house and general help in garden. Our family live on a small cattle gazing property about 70km north of Mackay and about 75km to Airlie Beach.
We are a family of 3, the two of us and a 13 year old son.
Rodney works shiftwork and therefore we could benefit with some help with the daily tasks of running the property. This would include fencing repairs, housework, feeding animals etc. We are in the process of developing a food forest and vegetable garden and would really appreciate some knowledge and help in this area.
Accommodation is your own room in our home.
Even though we have listed as non-organic, we avoid chemicals wherever possible both in our home and on our land. At the moment we are experimenting with various permaculture and bio-dynamic techniques on our pasture.
Stays are for a week or more.

UPDATE: Looking for a general farm helper and family member. Lots of opportunity to learn including animal work through to butchering!

4 hrs minimum a day including food and board etc (we give our helpers the same lifestyle we have - total immersion! - but when we are busy it means more work).

Minimum 4 week stay.

Woodspring is a cattle farm in Inglewood QLD owned by Ben and Sarah Eisel. We primarily fatten cattle and feed our pigs/sheep/horses by sprouting barley grass in a large cool room. We do this to make some of the yummiest beef ever and try to sell it direct to consumer. We eat it at home too so if you`re a beef lover you can`t go past it!

We are not organic but we don`t use chemicals on the paddocks, only household cleaning products in the sprouting shed. We do use chlorine bleach and you will need work clothes as they might get bleached (we can provide work clothes and boots).

Help us by harvesting the barley grass and feeding it to the cattle. Check ... more inside

Well-established Permaculture property with orchard, garden and animal systems located ten minutes from Noosa and seven minutes from (famous) Eumundi Markets. (But public transport VERY poor in this area - see note at the end)

Dave is a past Permaculture Teacher and willing to offer training to anyone keen to increase their knowledge of Permaculture systems. We are a laid-back but hard working couple who enjoy the "good life" in all its simplicity. We practice fermenting - beer, sauerkraut, kefir and make our own cheeses.
We are looking for a single person or happy couple preferably with practical skills to assist with gardening, collecting animal fodder, maybe some lifting/digging as required for 2-4 hrs/day and Permaculture trainees would get particular benefit.

We can offer accommodation (or van parking site), teaching and two meals/day (what we normally eat) plus access to caravan gas burner & fridge space for up to 25 hours work a week. Successful applicant(s) will beg... more inside
