We are a small family of 4 who are all vegetarians living on 25 acre organic farm in NW Tasmania. Our main crops are potatoes, cherries, apples, peas, etc. We also have three cows, a goat, and a rooster that are part of the family. As well as increasing and improving the gardens I have been converting some of the out buildings to accommodation. This property used to be two separate dairy farms. So there are two farm houses and two sets of out buildings.

All on the farm are vegetarians. We can teach vegetarian lifestyle and how to live in harmony with animals, nature, and the land.

There are a 4 bedroom, 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 1 very large bedroom houses on the farm. Each has is own kitchen, bath, and wood heater.

Meals are provided in the main farm house 3 times daily.

Located near Table Cape in North West Tasmania. The ocean can be seen from the farm on clear days with nice bush walks starting at the farm.

Hello

I live on 0.4 hectare in the small country town of Sheffield with a population of 1100, on the island State of Tasmania, just south of mainland Australia. Sheffield has rich volcanic soil, with an excellent rainfall that allows us to grow a wide variety of plants. I have lived in Sheffield for 18 years and since moving here I've planted many fruit trees (plums, apples, apricots, guavas, etc) I have chestnut, walnut and olive trees and lots of native trees. I have a healthy vegetable and herb patch, too!
I live with an alpaca, ducks, chickens and a dog (Bonbon)! There is a piano for you to play and you can take day trips to Cradle Mountain where you will find some of the best hiking in Tasmania! Meals are vegetarian and accommodation is in my comfortable home. Wifi available. No smoking inside. You can see it all on my youtube page youtu.be/w5ZBrteNfjc

DOES ANYONE LIKE THE COLD?

I am a City Host with a big old house and large garden. There is always work to be done in the garden: mulching, weeding, trimming back bushes, sweeping. Painting if you enjoy that kind of work. The house always needs some tidying and dusting, etc.
I am a seasoned traveller (lived/worked in Hong Kong for the past 13 years as an English teacher for the HK Education Dept) and so can help in language aquisition if required.
I have friends who are Helpx/Wwoof hosts who can also offer you work, if you are interested in variety; they can offer second Work Visa (I cannot)
Often we 'share' our Helpers so they get a great well-rounded experience,: a city experience and a bush/country experience.

I am right in the city of Hobart, just 15 mins walk to the CBD, and close to the main route leading south to the famous Tasmanian wilderness area.

Get in touch if you are interested and let's have a chat.
Roz

EAST COAST: I have just bought a vacant motel on the East Coast of Tasmania at a place named Beaumaris. It is about half way between Scamander and St Helens. I intend to use it as budget style, self-catering backpacker/budget accommodation whilst I fix it up. At the moment there are no customers. Just Chris the owner and occasional helpers. Jobs include cleaning, tidying, painting, gardening, etc

The property has 11 separate rooms which are being refurbished and not ready to occupy yet but will be by mid March 2019. All with showers and toilets. Hi,
we are on the paint brush and building up our gardens and food business for afternoon tea bookings. In short we are trying to make our property pay for itself and support us.

Accommodation is using guest accommodation which is available most of the time, with a small caravan on standby.

People think our food is also a feature of staying here, we hope you do too.

We offer an insight into what we do and how life is on a small holding some may think of us a bit crazy after 2 fires have swept through the place, however we do really appreciate your help.

Our coast is beautiful and we urge you to use your spare time to explore it...

Thanks!

very scenic 5 acres of organic fruit vegetables and flowers only 10 minutes drive south of Hobart and 5 minutes to the centre of Kingston. We have 2 co joined houses on the property, we live in one and the other with 2 double bedrooms is vacant. I'm hoping to meet a couple or single that know about gardening and are happy to do 4 hours work a day, in exchange for room board and occasional use of my car.
Our family is vegan, we have a 3 year old, 3 crazy little dogs, 6 chooks, 4 geese, 3 drakes and 10 guinea fowl. We love the quiet life and we love growing all our own food and want to expand the range of fruit and veg that we grow.

We are an Eco-Arts Retreat in the gorgeous Huon Valley, Tasmania. We celebrate creativity, community, and connection to this beautiful land.

We are a small community of artists and artisans. Our 26 acre property has a pristine creek and wonderful swimming hole, native bush with walking trails, rolling fields and mountain views. In exchange for your contributions, you will enjoy comfortable accommodation in the chalet and your own mini-retreat! We often meet as a community for dinners, bonfires and music jams.

Projects at the moment include the design and creation of a food forest! There is also pruning, clearing, digging, and preparing the site for the summer. There are always interesting projects on the go here!
We nurture a bustling kitchen garden, chickens with newborn chicks, and our beautiful kelpie x border collie dog.

Well the hay is in the barn! Now to the veggie garden which has grown so much, I'm lost in it, needs a little getting back into shape, with autumn and winter crops planned and planted. AND there is still much preparation needed to prepare for possible bushfire with all the long dry grass remaining. ..and, being over 70, I am not as fast, or strong as I used to be!!
So it would be wonderful if some strong, handy, thoughtful helpers could come my way in February.
In return, I can offer the most beautiful place to be, great food, good company, lots to learn,a lake to swim in when it is hot, and tremendous appreciation for your help!

Please send an e-mail with your phone number, and I will call you. Or phone and leave a clear message if I am out on the farm, or reply via e-mail.

So looking forward to hearing from you soon
Love
Geraldine

PS I live in a beautiful, remote valley in Tasmania.

I raise beef cattle and all my own food.
Spring is soon upon us, and I cannot ... more inside
