06-Feb-20 update: I live on a hilly smallholding and my property has an area of meadow and light woodland.

I need some seasonal help with gardening and landscaping (any design ideas would be welcomed), as well as painting the house exterior and the internal doors, and with general housekeeping.

My first Helpx helper was amazing and I have more work that needs to be done. I am looking for stays of between 3 and 7 days, which could be extended. I ask for the equivalent of 5 hours a day over a 5-day week but I am flexible about when the hours can be.

The house is in a rural setting, 5 miles from Tunbridge Wells, 50 miles from London, and 25 miles from Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton south coast towns. Buses stop on my street; there is a station 12 mins walk away, with trains to Hastings (50 mins) or London (60 mins).

I can also help you with your English language learning and would be delighted to practice my school French and German.

You (he/she) would have your own ... more inside

I need help in the garden for some weeks in March, April and May -mainly with vegetable patch and tidying up the garden ready for the summer. Also some light DIY jobs - if anyone can help with putting a few fence panels up that would be great too, but not essential.

Beautiful Thatched Cottage in the heart of the East Devon country side. I have a large garden and need help with maintaining and doing some small projects in the garden as well as some DIY jobs. I am a non smoking household and you will have your own room in the house. It would be helpful if you had some experience of gardening or enjoy working outdoors.

I am two miles from the town of Honiton which is walkable but I can provide bikes otherwise your own transport will be needed. Honiton has a train station and full bus service to Sidmouth, Exeter and other surrounding towns and villages as well as pubs, wine bars and leisure centre. The nearest beach is about 7/8 miles away and we have some beautiful walks and c... more inside

Need immediate help from 1 person. We can host you now until 1 April.

Hi there Helpers,
We would like to invite 3 people into our home who genuinely love young kids and are looking for a true cultural exchange with a british american family. We need help caring for our two young boys and keeping the house clean and tidy. We would like you not just to come help us out but to truly become part of our family and want to BE with us, not on your phones all day or tucked away in your bedroom. We hope to build a relationship with you and stay in touch even after you leave.

We are an international couple from England and America (Mark and Amaris) and recently had 2 little boys :) in 2017 (Teodor "Teddy") and 2018 (Alexander "Alè"). We have traveled far and wide and have now chosen to settle down for a bit in a small village, south of Cambridge, UK. Mark works with computers and Amaris has a part time job but mostly works from home and cares for the boys. We have no pets at ... more inside

We are looking for people from the end of March. Minimum stay 3 weeks.

We are close to town and sea with Dartmoor nearby.

Whilst we do prefer longer stays we will take people for as little as 3 weeks. But not less than 3 weeks, we find that the early days can be difficult for everyone and it takes a while to get to know each other. It also takes time for helpers to learn the routines.

Philosophy:
We have a small holding in Devon where we aim to grow as much of our own food as we can in an organic and sustainable way. So we have a small orchard a Kitchen Garden for vegetable growing, a fruit garden for soft fruit plus half an acre of flower gardens. We also have poultry (Chickens, various ducks, and geese) and there are bees which belong to a friend. The poultry are not for eating, but do provide us with a plentiful supply of eggs for most of the year.
Although not self sufficient in fruit and vegetables we do try to grow what we can, so there is usually fresh veg in seaso... more inside

Set in the beautiful countryside just on the Welsh border. Close to areas of special scientific interest, meres, mosses and canals. Also commutable to the Welsh coast for days off if required.
We farm in a mostly organic way, sheep, poultry, rescued horses.also rescued dogs. We would like help from people with abilities in construction, fencing or logging or those who wish to care for the animals. Please note that we do expect a fair exchange of hours for board. we are not able to run a hotel service for unwilling helpers as this is a charitable organisation and food and facilities are not free. Please note this is a non-smoking site due to insurance and safety.
Our gardens and hedgerows are left for the benefit of the many rare birds and insects. We have a large sett of badgers who can be seen by camping nearby.
Due to failing health we need help to continue our work. This is rural but not remote. There is limited bus service within one mile and trains three miles away.( The neare... more inside

Hi I am looking for a HelpX to start in February.

I own and run a schools hatching programme using eggs from my champion rare breed hens. The chicks come back to my 6 acre smallholding with fabulous views on the northern edge of Sheffield and the Peak District. I run this with my three children aged 20, 18 and 11. We also have rare breed sheep and goats, three horses, four dogs, two cats and two turkeys - so lots of interesting animals! You will need to love animals here!

VERY IMPORTANT:.....I would like someone who has initiative and can work from a list and be self motivated! I cannot always work with you, due to other work commitments, on the smaller jobs once you have been shown them. Also someone who is used to animals and wishes to learn more about their husbandry would be ideal.

I would like someone to do help out with daily jobs looking after the livestock. Also building fences and sheds, gardening, and on rainy day some decorating and restoration in our period ... more inside

Our quiet, secluded, 12 acre smallholding is home to our herd of 18 Alpaca, 8 Sheep, 7 Geese, 10 Ducks, ~40 Chickens and a couple of pigs (in the summer). Located alongside the river Chew it also has a small orchard and walled vegetable garden.

The 14th Century Farmhouse is a delightful home to Sarah, Chris and our young daughter Penny, and of course our Black Labrador and kitten - but also an ongoing renovation project. The accommodation for Helpers is a twin-bedded bedroom; so will accommodate up to two who are happy to share. The bathroom and all other amenities are shared with the family. Laundry and WiFi are free for Helpers' use. It is our preference for Helpers to eat with the family. Should you want a little more privacy, we do have a caravan available (for the summer months).

As hosts, we would welcome volunteers with any of the following interests: conservation; gardening; animal husbandry; hedge maintenance; land management; DIY (to name but a few...)

Bedroom and sitting room available in semi detached house nestling at the foot of the Mendip Hills in beautiful Somerset, one and a half miles from the tiny city of Wells, six miles from unique Glastonbury, twenty miles from Bristol and Bath There is a good bus service to all these places, with buses running every half an hour til late. Help is required creating a garden and digging a pond and some house maintenance, in exchange for scrumptious meals, warm and comfortable home, shared bathroom and kitchen and/or self catering. I would prefer fit, able bodied souls who have some practical/building/landscaping knowledge.

We are a free range, semi self sufficient dairy farm, milking cows once a day on a rotary parlour.

We enjoy having people to stay with us to help on the farm, getting to know new people.

We offer a room in our house and shared meals so if you enjoy cooking so much the better! A sense of humour is also very important!!

We are also renovating an old cottage nearby, so there is quite a bit of building work to do plus painting and decorating.
