We've been part of Helpx for several years now and have met some wonderful people from all over the world, many of whom we still keep in touch with.

We live in York, in the north of England, where we have a garden and (a 10 minute walk away) an allotment where we grow fruit and vegetables.

We try to cultivate using the `no-dig` method and like to re-use and recycle wherever possible.

Our house has solar panels on the roof for water and electricity as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment.

The work includes turning and spreading compost, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting.

From early summer, fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving.
If the weather is bad then there are always jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse.

We can offer all meals, laundry and accommodation, (in a double bed/own bathroom) in return for a helping hand, usually around 4-5 hours a day... more inside

We have several old Apple trees and a newly planted Orchard, our garden has grown in size year on year with a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, including quite a few Squash and a lot of Blueberries, we also have a few Tomatoes and Peppers/Chilli in our Greenhouse, we again don`t have any Animals during 2019.
With help we aim to continue to increase the size of our garden each year, on top of the normal planting and looking after the crops there are new raised beds to create, hedges to be tended, grass and brambles to cut back. There are always jobs like moving stone, digging and cutting wood. Over the next couple of years I'd like to construct a fruit cage, chicken tractor, composting toilet, fencing, dry stone walling plus a whole lot more. I`m also open to new ideas. Long term we want create several lakes for fishing and construct a poly tunnel, 25 hours per week (flexible on days and hours) Accommodation is in old Caravans, Contact us now for availability and for more inform... more inside

We are a family farm, with a dairy herd of Brown Swiss cows on a New Zealand paddock grazing system.
We grow as much of the cattle feed as possible. We also have an anaerobic digester 180KWh

We have hosted several people through other schemes, vetinary students, cheesemakers, people interested in anaerobic digestion, we are Warmshowers hosts.
Helpers could be involved with calf rearing, cheesemaking or working to restore our walled garden, according to skills and interests

Hi we are looking for some help with landscaping / improving our garden - nothing particularly skilled just a bit of time and hard work needs to be spent out there. At the moment we are preparing an area for paving so quite heavy work. Perhaps if you were a couple and the work in the garden was a little too strenuous for one of you, you could help inside the home a bit, preparing food, cleaning etc. You will be working mostly during the day whilst we are at work but we can work together during the weekend.
Don't worry google maps is out dated and we've done lots of improvements already! we'd hope that you like children, are enthusiastic, cheerful, able to work of initiative and independently. We are able to offer you a room (bunk beds) and use of our home facilities wifi etc along with breakfast and an evening meal each day. In exchange for 4/5 hours work a day with a couple of days off each week where you could explore the local city of Brighton, the south downs or even catch ... more inside

Our farm has heated accommodation and warm hospitality for the right person who will need to be enthusiastic and dedicated when it comes to our precious livestock.

This is a lovely old fashioned farm set in the very heart of the beautiful Devon countryside. The location and landscape is unspoilt and offers easy access to the wilds of Dartmoor.

Ben and his wife Larry and Benís Mother Tessa along with our volunteers and students work together to maintain and develop the land, livestock and a sustainable way of life.

We enjoy life on our 400 year old traditional Devon Farm and manage over 100 acres consisting of culm grassland, hay meadow, ponds and woodlands (43 acres), all worked by our shire horses. Our Woodlands provide a wonderful opportunity for preserving the time-honoured skills associated with traditional woodland management such as coppicing, charcoal burning and horse logging.

Modern techniques and home comforts are embraced but where possible the farm is run pr... more inside

Hi, we are Jane and Dave. We live in a small village in rural Lincolnshire in the East of England where we keep bees, chickens and pigs and a lovely cat, and grow fruit and vegetables in our large garden.

We still have places towards the end of October and in November. Though if you have a real passion and knowledge about gardening and would like to do some garden landscaping and care for our flower borders, that would be great and we'd probably find a space for you earlier in the year!

Weíve travelled a lot ourselves, so itís great to welcome people from around the world into our own home. We get the benefit of all the help with the animals, the garden and our various projects and enjoy the company of so many interesting people.

This is a home stay, you live as part of the family, and it is really important for us to know that we will all get on well together. Part of living as a family involves helping with ordinary household chores in addition to the 'work' that you d... more inside
