We are Laura, Gary, William and James, with small very friendly dog Monty. Our house is a newly built with the Passive House aspiration. It sits in the south wall of a Victorian Walled Garden.

The Garden is made of three sections: orchard, flower garden and veg garden, with surrounding woodland lanes. All very beautiful and full of potential. We need help with managing all aspects of the garden and starting to create different areas of interest within the structure of it. We need to move away from a building site to a home where people can visit and enjoy the garden.

We work hard and try to find a balance in life, so need a little help to move the garden along.

Independent living accommodation suitable for a two or an individual.

30 minutes drive to the Lake District and 20 minutes to Yorkshire Dales. 3 hours train link to London. Lovely walking and mountain biking. Work expectations matched with free adventure time. Food mainly vegetarian and home grown where possible.

Hi, we moved to our home in North Dorset August 2014. It is a farm in a beautiful area of England. We have 3 children aged 20 - 12, 2 dogs and a cat and are preparing for beef cattle. It is a very friendly area, and the train station is close by. We planted 17000 trees over the last 3 years which need some help maintaining. We are establishing a garden, renovating a barn, making doors, painting. There are lots of different jobs to do from helping on the farm, to the garden, to cleaning and cooking in the house. If you have carpentry skills, brick laying or building skills, that is useful but not necessary.

We recently finished converting a barn to a large studio with a kitchen, it is attached to the house but quiet and private with great views.

We are hosting Helpx again in 2018 and we offer a double room with en-suite bathroom, plus meals, for 20 hours work per person per week, based on working 9.00 to 13.00 five days. We have about an acre of ground at home, plus we have another acre and a half 10 mins walk away. We especially enjoy gardening, both flowers and vegetables. We welcome help with garden work, such as outdoor painting, weeding, and mending. The work will often involve active jobs, e.g. cutting brambles and wood, moving manure, digging etc, so you need a reasonable level of mobility/fitness, and it is helpful (but not at all essential) if you are willing to use power tools, such as strimmer and mower! If you would like to join us for a while you will need working clothes and suitable outdoor working footwear, as we still work if the rain is not too heavy! However, if the weather is too bad to work outdoors, ordinary domestic jobs such as housework may be involved, too. If you like to cook that is a bonus!

Update:

We don't need anybody for now but you can apply just in case, and shifts are different now cos we have 2 more properties and 3 or 4 volunteers so they are working 4h a day, 5 days a week.

Usually we don`t select helpers until we know when the current helpers are leaving, we know it`s not good for planning but it`s good for the current helpers since they don`t feel pressure to leave and that is more important for us.

Anyway you can apply any time and if we like your profile we keep in touch and let you know when we have any position available

Our 17th century farmhouse is home to Piers, Sue, three young people aged 18-22 (two are away at university), two house cats and a small, very friendly dog. Our stay length is two, occasionally three, weeks. We are now looking for help in October and November.

We offer helpxers comfortable accommodation in a prime tourist area, excellent food and a genuine welcome, in return for a fair level of physical work. It's a great opportunity for people who are keen to stay in a family environment and learn stuff about country living. We usually take helpxers one at a time; sometimes we have two people here.

Our home is within sight of the sea in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are shingle beaches to walk to and steep-sided sandy coves easily reachable by bike (although the roads are hilly!). South Devon is an enormously popular tourist destination from Easter to October, when it earns its reputation as the sunniest part of England.

We moved here seven years ago and h... more inside

Hello, I am a busy working mum with two children aged 9 and 6 looking for someone to help around the house. General house keeping and cleaning along with a little babysitting for a 3 hours per day day, 6 days per week.

We are situated in the beautiful seaside town of Torquay and can offer a bed in a shared dormitory in my husbands backpackers, which is a 2 minute walk from our house. There may be the possibility of staying at our house in the future but we currently have a lodger there.
