We are a couple.. Tom (38) and Jacqui (33).

We have been given planning permission for a dwelling under the new Wales-wide 'One Planet Development' policy, which offers people the chance to build a home 'in the open countryside' if they can demonstrate a commitment to various low-impact, environmentally responsible principles while also providing for the monetary needs of the household with a 'land-based livelihood' (in our case a tree nursery and processed fruit business) and the production of a large proportion of one's own food and fuel etc.

We like to think we can offer you a good return for your help, and that your contribution will be honoured. We have a good library, are passionate about what we do, discuss regenerative agriculture often and are well connected with other producers in the area. You will hopefully learn a lot with us.

We currently stay in a rented barn on a neighbouring farm. It's a one-room situation so unfortunately we can't offer accommodation her... more inside

***Are you a keen photographer or filmmaker? We are looking for visual storytellers to help us communicate what we are doing at the farm with the world. In exchange for your unique perspective and an eye for a good shot, we'll offer you the chance to immerse yourself in an organic, land-based lifestyle, get back to nature and learn about permaculture & small-scale farming! Get in touch!***

Nestled in the green rolling hills where Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire meet, Bronhaul is a peaceful, diverse and abundant place where we are working to regenerate land, people and community... We invite you to come and pitch in and be part of the development here, and lend your creativity, expertise and ideas to the momentum that is growing!

Bronhaul ('Sunny Bank' in Welsh) is a small-scale family farm and permaculture project of 25 acres, where we grow our own food, farm livestock, manage a sustainable woodland and offer four holiday cottages and bell tents for regenerative breaks. We... more inside

Cwrt y Cylchau is a stone farm house and outbuildings situated with five acres of sheltered and peaceful land in a valley in the hills. Surrounded by mature trees and bordering a mountain stream, we have a forest garden, vegetable beds, polytunnel, ponds, coppices, meadows and woodland. Sheep graze part of the land whilst some meadow is left to encourage wildflowers. Wildlife is a priority and permaculture informs the management of land and lifestyle here. Currently there are three residents. Some residents have jobs away from home. The owner is home-based and usually available to work alongside volunteers.
Guests and volunteers are accommodated in the farmhouse or may camp in summer months. People sometimes come here for retreat, enjoy the tranquility, breathe exceptionally clear air and find silence interrupted only by birdsong and the sounds of wind and river.
Volunteers are asked to help with the daily and seasonal activities. These might be gardening jobs connected with growi... more inside

We run glamping accommodation with 20 acres of land, four acres of which are woodland. We are looking for help with outside jobs. These include: wood collecting and splitting, laying new paths, digging, strimming, mowing, gardening, replacing fence posts, painting, etc.

We are 'off grid' and have been for 26 years so know quite a lot about alternative energy - happy to pass on knowledge! The business and our life style are very sustainable (we've won awards!) moving here for 'the good life'.

We are in a very rural location with great views of the countryside. the nearest shop is 3 miles away - so having a car is advisable. Lots to do in the area - lovely beaches about half an hour's drive away, plenty of castles etc. Mobile phone reception is good but limited internet (available in the house but not in the accommodation).

In exchange for 3 hours work a day we will provide accommodation in one of our yurts or a tipi and supply breakfast but not evening meal. Cooking ... more inside

We live on a (small) smallholding in a rural location in North Wales, on the edge of Snowdonia. The setting is delightful and secluded, yet the nearest town is only 4 miles down the road, while the North Wales coast and mainline train station are 18 miles away. Walking, climbing & cycling opportunities, as well the many attractions of Snowdonia & the Coast are only a short drive away.

Our animals (dogs, cats, chickens, bees, rare-breed sheep, donkeys) rule the place and our lives, so this is for animal lovers only!
Our land is mainly pasture in two fields adjacent to the house, with a large garden with orchard & veg beds.

We are currently have availability to host from 20 August onwards, for a maximum stay of 3 weeks at a time.

We are are quite new to smallholding life so we are specifically looking for people who already have relevant skills to share, as we have a lot to learn. Work can be arranged flexibly around a mutually agreed schedule. You should be able and confid... more inside

Hello from Joe and Caz at Glandwr. We are an OPD permaculture project next to (but not part of) the Lammas Ecovillage. Our project currently consists of a young forest garden, areas of young woodland, an organic vegetable garden and areas of pasture. Joe is a woodworker and Caz forages for wild foods for restaurants. Our interests are self sufficiency, home brewing, music and more. In previous years we’ve enjoyed plenty of travelling and festivals, we love meeting new people and sharing skills.

We currently live in a converted horse box and have BASIC facilities on site. Our projects this year are building a carpentry workshop, finishing off land works, improving infrastructure for volunteers/visitors, upkeep of the forest garden, growing vegetables, using a holistic grazing pattern to keep sheep, caring for the 2,500 trees we planted last winter, general land maintenance and more.

We aim to create a beautiful and functional landscape which will support our own needs and promo... more inside

I have 6 weeks off as I work in a College and it's now my holidays. I want to do a lot on my house, which I am renovating at the moment. Awen (my house) is a characterful, Victorian, terraced house which is situated in a peaceful country town, directly opposite the fast flowing river Teifi, which is a popular canoeing and kayaking area.
4 extra hours of help a day on my house and outside area would make a massive difference to the progress. Preferably I would like someone’s help that can do carpentry and building work.
For leisure time I am able to show off the amazing countryside such for swimming and walking/exploring. I also know many people in this area for social events and live music.

After a long period not requiring help, due to illness we are now looking urgently for a helper, 2 friends or a couple to help run our holiday accommodation, bunkhouse, tipi and small campsite, as well as some animal husbandry looking after our horses and sheep. We would like somebody who can stay until around mid September, learning how we do things initially and then being able to put this into practice in our absence.

Helpers will be involved with the day to day running of our bunkhouse, tipi and small campsite; booking people in and out, answering enquiries, ensuring that the premises are clean and tidy, changing beds, laundry and general cleaning, grass cutting, and perhaps occasionally preparing simple meals for guests. Some days can be really hectic especially when there is a changeover between two big groups, other days when a group is staying for several nights, for example, there may be nothing to do except a quick inspection and dispose of rubbish.

Our native ponies... more inside
