Hi, we are horse-family. We live in south of Iceland and we have stable for 20 horses, but we own 80 horses.

We live in a big house and we are used to have many people with us, mostly girls who have the focus on going to the riding teacher school in the North, Hólar. I am educated riding teacher from Hólar so I am teaching a lot. I am looking for people that can work with horses, feed, muck and clean. We have horses in every training scale, young ones, breeding horses, competition horses and mostly we are training the sale horses. We also have a small Horserental. We look forward to hear from you :)
I lived in Norway for 6 months working on a horse farm so I know a little bit how it is to experience something totally different from home.

I like to have people that have good balance and are open minded. Experience in Icelandic horses is not important, only that you have been riding before :)

Best and kind regards
Sjöfn at Perluhestar

We, Tessan and Peter, have a small apiary that we run with organic methods and a summertime café that serve cookies, cakes and simple food, all mainly containing organic or locally produced ingredients. We have a very small forest, a garden that was once wellknown for its herbs, a workshop and sometimes we host courses or events for the local community as well.

More than ten years ago I (Tessan) was travelling as a helper myself, great experiences staying with different people and doing everything from picking stones in Australia's outback to cleaning rooms in a NZ lodge. Now when I finally have a place of my own I want to contribute the worldwide community by hosting as well.

Accomodation: We have a small guest-cottage with a double bed that helpers can stay in. It has electricity but no water so toilet and shower can be used in the main house. This is a cat-free area so those of you who get itchy eyes from our feline friends are also welcome to stay. In wintertime we have a... more inside

Hi, because of the current situation in the world with the corona virus, I will not be accepting any helpers until things calm down a bit and the danger has passed. Hopefully toward summer I can begin accepting helpers who would like to visit us. Until then, be safe, take care of one another and do what you are asked of government officials to stop the spreading of this horrible virus. Together in this fight, we are strong.

My home is a log cabin in the woods on an island in the middle of Norway“s largest lake. It is very quiet here so this is not the place for people looking for lots of fun. But if you are looking to escape the city, and you respect nature and enjoy the quiet around you, this is the place for you. We are 45 minutes from all the larger cities around the lake, including Lillehammer which was the home of the 1994 Winter Olympics. 1.5 hours from the airport Gardemoen and 2 hours from Oslo.

You will have a lot of time for yourself, so you must be ok with that. Th... more inside

Welcome to this beautiful shore of a rural island on Norway`s West Coast! An hour from Bergen city with bus.

You can do good to this place, me and the environment in a lot of ways. Your creativity and interests count. It can be gardening; cleaning; painting; other maintenance; construction; cleaning up the sea shore; you name it ... 20 hours a week is fine. You can also help me by discussing my priorities; help structure my time; share opinions; maybe teach me some yoga etc. ...

We'll discuss and make our plans together, and I’ll usually be around, but you’ll work alone most of the time, and you must structure your time yourself. - Work when it suits you.
I provide the instructions you need.
You'll be expected to look for, and try your best to understand, what to care for; to think independently in alliance with me; and to make initiatives!

You'll share kitchen with a woman who rents rooms next to yours.
My helpers normally keep a separate household; including meal... more inside

Due to corona virus borders to Norway are closed (as many other countries).
The only info I have for sure,is that we don't know what the next weeks bring. Once back and running I know we'll need all the help we can get.

STAY WELL - be careful and remember an extra sms and phone call to your loved ones!

Various work for preferably longer stays.

Planning for summer-fall 2020 - get in touch.

The campsite has a beautiful location by the Oslo fjord, approximately 45 minutes drive from Oslo (1 hr+ by bus). The site is owned by the Norwegian YMCA-YWCA.
I“ts about 13 acres large and has 500 meters shoreline, lots of fruit trees and other vegetation and a soccer field. It was originally a residence for a wealthy businessman from Oslo in 1901 and was founded as a campsite in 1941/42.

The work varies with the seasons and will consist of everything from kitchen work, gardening, painting indoors and outdoors, carpentry, tidying, organising, cleaning, caring for animals with food... more inside

Hi there!

We are a Finnish family living on a historical farm in the Eastern Finland close to Russian border. We are looking for handy helpers to help out with various kinds of tasks on our land.

We run a business in tourism, forestry and agriculture on our farm. We have lakeside cabins that can be rented for spending a holiday and a smoke sauna area for arranging functions in a unique setting. At the moment we are concentrating on ecological tourism at our lakeside area and we want to offer our guests authentic experiences with the minimal effect on the nature.

We have two cats that live in the house with us, but we don't have any other animals of our own. However, in the summertime we have some sheep that we look after. Around our house we have big gardens with apple trees, plum trees, berries and in the summer we grow some vegetables. The fruit, berries and vegetables we preserve for the winter. Our land is next to a lake and our home is surrounded by fields and forests... more inside

Permaculture small farm in southern Norway. About 120 km south of Oslo. The farm is directly at lake Farris, with possibilities for swimming, kayaking, fishing, ice-fishing and maybe even ice scating.

Annette (60, totally permaculture minded and active) recently bought the farm. The farm has water from the lake and with the possibility to have solar panels on the garage, Farris Permaculture will most probably be off grid from 2021/22.

Ten nut trees and ten fruit trees and other greens are spending this winter in a temporary place, waiting to be replanted on their permanent place from March to the end of May. It would be nice and coosy to have some help with this replanting, probably also swales making... the last mostly maybe to get rid of excess of water, because there is a lot of the properties forest on higher grounds around.

From April 2020 there will be free ranging chickens and later in the year also a dog on the farm.

Helpers will be sleeping in the guesthouse at ... more inside

We are located on the Vatnsnes Peninsula, 25km north of road no. 1. Ósar ocean beach is full of life. Seals abound and also eider ducks and other birds, and the rock Hvķtserkur, which resembles a prehistoric Dinosaur, is within walking distance.

The unspoiled nature, peaceful environment and a variety of recreation opportunities makes this an ideal place. In only about 5 min walk you are in unusually close contact with nature. Here guests can see a number of different birds and one of Iceland`s biggest colonies of seals, swimming only a few meters from the beach.

We are offering a help exchange, we are offering helpers to come and stay with us in exchange for help on the farm, or with the Hostel.. That could be helping cleaning rooms, or doing reception, on the farm it could be fence work, or helping with the animals.

A superb place for nature lovers

Hallo unknown friend,
I live in a small cottage in the forest, at the end of the road, with some animals, a cat, 2 goats and chickens. There are outhouses, a garage, a green house and a guest cottage for 2 persons on the premises. Also two separate rooms with beds in the main building. It is also possible to sleep i my cosy, vintage mobile home with a double bed (180 cm wide).

It's a tranquil atmosphere, no traffic, with nearby lakes to swim in and a friendly country side to explore. It's 15 km to town (Uppsala being a bustling university town), buses run every half hour from the main road and I can give a lift as I need to go to town several times every week in my car.

As I am getting older (74), I am not so strong and fit any longer and live alone - it would be great to have some help. I have received many guests throughout the years through an international peace and travel organisation called Servas (Servas.org). Many of them have lent a helping hand, for which I have be... more inside
