Hello
We are an eco village in Ariege living in community 7 kids and 18 adults, 2 dogs, 3 horses, and chickens. Our main interest is democracy, liberty and democratic schooling based on sudbury schools. How can we live in community while still being free ? This is our main challenge that unites us. Authentic and open communications is really what keeps us alive and thriving.

WHERE DO WE NEED HELP?
As we just welcomed 3 horses we are in need at the moment of strong volunteers with building experience ideally to help us build a shed for them, and also build some fences with wood stakes, and other things (round pens....)

As we are coming into winter there are quite a few villagers that will not be around so help caring for the animals horses and chickens would be awesome.

With horses. Preferably people with experience. We don't have a round pen yet (that's part of the construction projects!), but still to groom them, desensitize them, walk them around. One is an old bu... more inside

Hi there!
I'm a Belgian, dutch-speaking woman living with my fast-growing puppy in a big modern house close to the town of Perpignan, near the Spanish border and some 10km from the sea. Both my daughters will leave home for studying this september so I can need some company.
There's a spare room to host 1 or 2 people who can help with gardening, some painting and house- and pool maintenance. In exchange of 4 hours of work a day I offer you a room and 3 meals. Vegetarians and vegans are welcome but should help me with the cooking because I'm not used to cook vegetarian/vegan. But I would love to learn some good recipes.
Although I love the contact with people from all over the world, I also like to be on myself. That's why I prefer a short stay of maximum 8 days maximum and you should feel fine by working alone most of the time.
Please don't hesitate to contacte me if you want some more information.
Hope to see you soon!

Right now, mid November, there is no need of watering the garden! But in between the showers, the garden needs cleaning up. If you are not afraid of colder weather you are welcome to stay for 1 or 2 weeks, either in November or beginning of December.

I am currently looking for helpers with gardening skills and for other jobs. There is quite a lot of mowing and strimming to be done all year round, as well as weeding, watering the garden so I will need help with these jobs. And of course, pool maintenance!

Typical French country house near village in south-west France. Lovely countryside for walking; biking, canoeing (in summer).

Help requested for gardening, carpentry and painting. Other jobs possible, including pool maintenance. You will have your own room. Bicycle available. I can pick you up either in Cahors or in Figeac or at Brives airport.

From March onwards I need help with cleaning up the garden and the grounds, some pruning of shrubs, making bonfires. There are... more inside

WHO WE ARE

We are a small community and plenty of aspects are still in an early stage. After the individual members have travelled for many years in different ways and took part in different projects and collectivs, we settled down here in the Summer of 2018. We have a lot of space and ideas, but no finished plan concerning extending the infrastructure and the communal life. Many different things are developing here.
We are not a commercial undertaking.

There are four adults and a three-year-old living here permanently. Two members of our community live here part-time. Also living with us are two horses, a small herd of goats, a handfull of chickens and a pond full of carps.

Though inmidst of a country idyll, we wish to reason intensively about political issues. We strive to respectfully and mindfully deal with all people. We're not perfect, and you also don't need to be. We want to continue learning, from you, with you. This basic attitude to us means amongst other aspect... more inside

We are a small organic olive farm, not yet in commercial production. We practice permaculture and the olives are part of a `forest garden` which also includes 200 cork oaks, carob and other trees and shrubs. We also have a vegetable garden, fruit trees, dogs, cats, a house pig, donkeys and worms!. Living in a Mediterranean climate we practice several different methods of water recycling and have a biological swimming pool. Help is required with all aspects of a compassionate, sustainable lifestyle.
Meals are vegan, wine is served with the evening meal and we are non smoking. Current projects are harvesting, general forestry and garden management, animal care, autumn planting plus various indoor projects for bad weather. The olive harvest is late October.
Normally up to 4 helpers are here at a time, living as part of a family style community. We ask a minimum commitment of 4 weeks, with longer stays very much preferred. People usually book a few weeks ahead, but we sometimes have ... more inside

Ross and I have been taking care of an elderly couple with Alzheimers, and now they have passed away. We are busy building our dream of a bike lodge here in South West France. I am a visual artist and specialize in monumental welded steel sculpture. Ross is an amazing musician and is very eclectic, and is also doing most of the construction renovation work on his own! He needs help!
The property we live on is big and contains 36 fruit trees, a small forest that was recently thinned out. The fruit trees are all organic and need pruning, and picking of fruit in the right season.
We are building a super exciting bike lodge and need people with strong hands and skills! We need help with the renovation with work such as tiling, painting, building shelves, and waterproofing. Soon a new sewage link will be put in and there will be landscaping work to be accomplished as well.
The property has many trees that need pruning and wood needs to be split as well as branches hauled from one end... more inside
