We are a Czech / Australian family of four with two small children. In 2014 we began to establish our self-sustainable farm, and are slowly moving forward with our dream. Our first priority is the reconstruction of the 150 year traditional Wallacian wooden cottage, as well as the establishment and maintenance of vegetable gardens and fruit orchards.

Many of the jobs we need help with change with our needs and the time of year, but others, like preparing firewood, weeding, and a little help around the house are more permanent.

We expect from our helpers 6 hours of work, 5 days a week. We prefer to start the working day earlier so you have more free time to enjoy in the afternoon.

We're happy to show people around, and we have a bike that helpers can use. In the Summer we like to go to a nearby (larger) pond for a swim. Around us grow many wild herbs we like to gather, as well as mushrooms.

At the moment we can offer only a tent to accommodate helpers. It's important f... more inside

It is a small starting breed of Shetland sheep in the Rychlebské hills on czech-polish border in north-east of the Czech rep. It was founded in spring 2014 and in last two years it has nicely expanded. Ovcezkopce is also a workshop of homemade handicrafts made of our own wool and wool from other local farms. The workshop Ovcezkopce honor the local tradition and craft and has an interest in supporting local shepherds in producing regional brand products purely from local resources. The farm jobs are mainly "hard ones": building and repairing fences and shelters, mowing meadows, making and transporting hey, collecting and chopping wood. Volunteers can stay in our cosy and clean original mongolian yourt.

Our home is a big 150 year old traditional stone built farmhouse set in a nice large garden, only 45 km from Prague, situated in a tiny village set amongst beautiful rural countryside of rolling hills, forest, farmland and just a short distance from one of the biggest recreational lakes in CZ. Close by are other quaint villages and a town - so, we are not isoltated - and are ideally located to visit many fascinating historical ancient towns and cities as well as castles, popular recreational venues and Prague of course. Excellent public bus transport from our village linking all areas or to the nearest main railway station 10km away in the town.

We are a British-Czech couple with a 7+ yr old daughter who produce video for the travel industry/tv, are interested in travel, food/world cuisines and also outdoor activities. We can provide accommodation in a large room in the house with its own entrance, plus all meals, in return for help in preparing some apartments for homestays and ... more inside

Full time farming couple in their fifties are seeking for helping hands. We grow some vegetables to make kimchi as a natural fermented vegetable to survive the winter.
We have some animals, too, used as lawn mowers, sheep, pigs to maintain an orchard full of fruit trees, especially plums for slivovice, it is a special local alcohol.
We live in a little cabin next to our pond full of fish. There is also built a little cave with 2 beds, we use it as a fridge in the summer.
We cook on a wood burner or outside on a simple fire place. We are vegans and we offer simple vegan food, mostly from our organic sources.
Accommodation is possible either in a tent or in a small house nearby.
Washing and bathing in the pond or in an outdoor herbal bathroom.
We need some help in everyday tasks, there is always plenty to do but we know how to relax as well, swimming in the pond or making a fire in the evening.

Update... People needed for Spring for preparing raised beds and other work.

I am a Native English speaker with a small farm. I keep sheep, goats, chickens, ducks and cats.
I reside an hour north of Prague in a quaint little village, with the nearest town being about 10 kilometres away. There is a bus that runs into town every day from the village.

I need help around the farm, mainly with the animals, making fences, weeding, chopping wood and whatnot. My main plans for this year are to fence a field for my sheep & make a shelter for them (photo of the field below.) I also have a very large barn that needs organising.
I’m currently renovating the house as well, so anybody with skills around that area would be most welcome. Currently the upstairs is habitable but the downstairs is not. I have a designated area for cooking/preparing meals but installing a proper kitchen is definitely high on the to-do list.

I am able to provide a large bedroom in the house and Wi-Fi. I can... more inside

Our land has nearly 2 ha, it is situated on the edge of forest (deer walk on our land quite often) with small stream running thru it. There is plenty of work on the land and house as we have been refurbidhing for some time now, but we know very well, when to relax and have fun too, we like to sit by the campfire or relax with lovely cup of English tea.

Lately we have been concetrating on refurbishing our house more than working on the surrounding land. We have now special filter for our drinking water and soon will also had flashing toilet :-). Till finished we still have inhouse chemical toilet and outside wooden toilet in the forest we all prefer to use.

As we are refurbishing the house the room you can stay is very small with just 1 double bed and some space for your belongings, the room is normally used for storage.

So the stay with us, till we fully refurbish the house, is not for whimps, who expect to be housed like in a hotel :-) !!!

There are very nice walks in ... more inside

Since 2009 we have been trying to create our family homestead on a lonely place close to the forest , not wired. We are trying to be as much selfsufficient as possible, dependent mainly on the Sun. The Sun produces our electricity, heats the water, shines onto our vegetable beds and to our trees in the orchard, and dries our fruit. We do homeschooling with our older daughter. We take care of about 5 ha of the land, where we keep goats, sheep, a donkey, chickens, a dog, a cat, and bees. We make our own bread, cottage cheese, cheese and other milk products, honey and eggs. In our orchard there are more than 200 trees, mainly plums. We are trying to use permacultural principles not only in our garden. In summer we jump into our small natural lake. As we ususally use internet only once a week be patient, please, for our response.
