We are a small family owned hostel in Culebra, Puerto Rico! We are looking for people to help with general maintenance of the hostel.

Culebra is considered by many the star of Puerto Rico with the distinction of having the 3rd most beautiful beach in the world, Flamenco Beach. We also have gorgeous reefs for snorkeling, fabulous restaurants/bars, and a positive laid back environment.

The help here is versatile: depending on your skills and talents you would help with housekeeping, gardening, construction and hostel office help. The work is divided in shifts, so you will have days off and lots of free time to explore the island. We expect around 30 hrs/per week for this exchange.

Our hostel believes in gender equality and good communal atmosphere, and we look forward to hosting individuals with the same type of values. We also wish you wouldn't be a heavy drinker.

We are looking for individuals willing to commit to stay at least 6 weeks, but if the fit is right, we are op... more inside

Our main cash crops are leafy greens. We blend our own mesclun mix with a combination of baby lettuce, mustard greens, tatsoi, and kale. Other greens include arugula, braising kale, and collard greens. In addition we are growing a variety of herbs, root crops, and fruits.

Produce is delivered weekly to hotels, restaurants, and grocery stores in Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, and Kingston. Additionally we sell at an organic farmers' market in Kingston.

Harvest begins at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays begin at 8 a.m.

Living accommodations include a rustic cottage with private bed, bath, living room, kitchen, patio, running water, gas, and electricity. Willing to discuss food plan/living wage/other expenses.

I have a farm in the rainforest of Puerto Rico that is really a paradise. We need to do a lot of planting, building,I have a hostel and a spa that needs someone to care for it. There is so much to do that I am overwhelmed and therefore I am seeking some adventurous people who want to start something. The only issue is food so please have a budget for yourself of about ten dollars a day for food until we start producing our own. Also look us up on facebook as Hacienda Guaraguao or Don Toler. It tends to be more efficient to contact me there.

We have a wonderful organic farm around 30 miles from Santa Domingo. Carolina has been working on the farm for 16 years building it from barren nothingness to an established food forest and supporting edible garden. We have turkeys, chickens, and geese currently and are working to build more diverse animal and plant ecosystems on the land.

The current aim is to employ techniques of permaculture to promote sustainability and to improve ecology to create a sanctuary of self-sufficiency which can serve as an educational model. We intend to open the space as an area for learning permaculture techniques, including all aspects of eco-sustainability from horticulture to natural building to economic sustainability and fair share.

We welcome volunteers to help us improve the farm both physically and socially, inviting innovative creators and passionate hard workers. We believe in creating a place of peace in harmony with the natural ecosystems, extending this out to work with the local... more inside

This is a backpacker hostel that looks to connect the university center of Puerto Rico with international visitors. Cultural and outdoor activities are key.

Helpers will be involved with receiving guests, cleaning duties, furniture and house remodeling, gardening and repairs, and support for the greater community.

I provide a bunk for helpers in the shared room, and meals and/or food to cook. In exchange I ask helpers for six hours Monday through Friday, and weekends free. I try to take helpers on excursions with me to the wild areas of the island when possible.

As a host I look for helpers with initiative and smiles. I fell in love with Puerto Rico after a short stay, and enjoy connecting my guests and helpers with the larger community and activities around the hostel.

Bonjour,

Nous habito... more inside

We are a homeless shelter and rehabilitative day program in Port Antonio, Jamaica. Portland Rehabilitaion Management (PRM) is a NGO (non-governmental organisation) providing shelter, food, medicine, and other rehabilitative services to the homeless that desperately requires volunteers to help keep our struggling organisation alive by helping to raise funds and provide care services to our clients in need.

We currently serve 15-20 clients, (roughly one third of the marginalized homeless population of Port Antonio), who have been socially displaced often due to many of the following factors:
• Mental Health Issues (mostly schizophrenia and bipolar disorder)
• Physically Debilitating Conditions
• HIV/AIDS
• Displacement resulting from ex-offender or deportee status or circumstance.
• Abuse or Exploitation

We are an NGO charged by the Portland Parish Council, to develop, fund and administer a rehabilitation program for the homeless persons of the parish of Portland.
