We are a family practicing Natural Farming on our organic farm, below the town of Corongo in northern Ancash. Corongo is a remote place in the Andes, about 14 hours with bus from Lima, or about 7 hours from Huaraz or Chimbote. Important ; In Corongo there are -- no ATM, no supermarket, limited busdepartures ; to Huaraz only every friday and from Huaraz to Korongo every sunday (3 pm) Direct to and from Fiori in Lima 4 days a week, but those buses are not so comfortable.

We are dedicated to teaching Daoism & natural farming ; it can not be learned in a couple of weeks, and we prefer "students" that will stay for a longer period (2-3-months) Before coming here, we recommend you read "The One straw Revolution" by Masanobu Fukuoka, to know what it is about. Our Natural farming has influences from Daoism (southern China) but also from traditional ways of mountain-peoples from Amerika to Europe and India.

We have lots of hiking-possibility -- our own glacier (5118 m) , lots of lake... more inside

It is a wonderful little town to explore as well as it is a living, immaculately preserved Inca village with original streets, structures and still flowing canals. We seek a volunteer who can help us in reception and can learn about hospitality in the Valley. We are able to offer breakfast and accommodations to any volunteers interested in developing their hospitality experience and experiencing life in the Sacred Valley of Peru. We are running an innovative educational-ecological project here in Arequipa, Peru.

The city is facing a huge garbage problem, there is no separate collection system for waste and people are not used to recycle. Moreover the public school system is focused on excellency performance through means of mainstream pedagical methods which undermine creativity and interactional learning.

The vision of our project is:

1. Embodying a sustainable, autosufficient and conscious living in our everyday life by:
-applying permaculture, bioconstruction, organic agriculture, beekeeping, hand craft and recycling,
-installing on renewable energies such as solar panels/cookers, wind and mechanical energies
-encouraging bicycles usage in daily life

2. To spread green thinking in the upcoming generation through:

My name is Carol Salazar. I am the founder and chief executive of this English school.

Four years ago I moved to "La Villa de Contadores" in Trujillo, a community of low income families which lacks in the schools, medical centers, and social services which are essential to any community. It is for this reason that with the enthusiasm of having a positive impact on this community, I began the project of a small English school that offers the opportunity for children to learn English. With the help of enthusiastic volunteers we share our enthusiasm and love with the children and encourage them to learn a new language in the same way they are learning Spanish. We also try to teach them values ??and fill them with a positive attitude towards the different circumstances that happen in their lives.

We offer now 2 volunteer-opportunities

We are looking for a community manager who can help with the information on our facebook fan page.
