Our village is located northwest of Kathmandu. The village lies on the flank of 3,500m mountain at the base of Ganesh Himal and next to Manaslu Range. As the village lies on the border of two ethnic teritories, they have a mixed practice of Hinduism and Buddhism. Our village name means 'Flower Garden'.
Agritourism in our village is about traditional rice farming. It starts from June / July and lasts till October. Rice is main staple food of Nepal. Researches show that the rice productivity of Nepal is lower compared to leading rice producing countries. It is only 3 tons / hectors. There are several factors such as dependency on rain, labor shortage and traditional farming technologies. Agritourism and agricultural volunteer is about learning the traditional terrace farming in Nepal and helping them by the means of tourism.

Help us with re-building projects in the village of Sauhara, Nepal

Nepal was severely touched by an earthquake. The whole country is in an emergency state and foreign aid has already arrived. Unfortunately first aid is primarily located in Katmandou and in the touristic zones of the country. Many villages are isolated and in desperate need of help and first necessities.

My name is Bijay, i am the manager of an ecolodge, in the beautiful national park of Chitwan in the village of Sauhara. I was there with tourists when the earthquake happened. Here we were lucky so watching our Nepalese friends learn the deaths of family members and friends is unbearable.

Then, with the volunteers who were already in this place, we decide to help isolated people to provide some food, tent and other emergency necessities.

We collected money for the emergency but now we need to find volunteers for rebuild the country.

How can you help us ?

We would like to build houses and schools in ... more inside

Live with a family and work on an ecological farm during your stay in Nepal. Consider spending time with us on our family farm.

Our farm is located in Gangangar, a small village in Chitwan District in the Terai region of Nepal. It is about 150 km far away from Kathmandu and just a kilometer away from the renowned "Chitwan National Park". It is dedicated to the goddess "Sitamai", who is widely revered by the "Tharu People", indigenous people of Chitwan.

The Tharu people themselves say that they are a people of the forest. In Chitwan, they have lived in the forests for hundreds of years practicing a short fallow shifting cultivation. They planted rice, mustard, corn and lentils, but also collected forest products such as wild fruits, vegetables, medicinal plants and materials to build their houses; hunted deer, rabbit and wild boar, and went fishing in the rivers and oxbow lakes.

We chose the name because of our respect to these indigenous people and commitment to sustainabi... more inside

We need native German teachers. You don't need to have experience; we will provide you a short training. Five day week, 2 days off. We don't ask for any sort of volunteer fee as our program is based on the work-exchange policy. At least 3 months required
