Hello, we are Laura and Dave and we run a small, private camp site with fully furnished tents, with camp fire, barbeque area and chill-out tent. We are also tent makers, so all of the tents are made in our workshop.

We can offer food and accommodation in our large house for two people, preferably a couple or friends, during September.

We have a kitchen garden, a greenhouse and a poly-tunnel in which we grow vegetables, plus large landscaped areas to manage.

The work will consist of cleaning the tents on change-over days, gardening and general site maintenance. There are always bits of work to be done on the house, as well as our workshop where we make the tents.

There is in addition a studio flat that we rent out on Airbnb.

At the house, we have a double and a single room available for workers and we all take part in cooking and housework. We prefer our helpers to stay a minimum of two weeks if possible.

We are very rural here and there is limited public tra... more inside

Not your usual gig. I am an artist who has just bought a large old shop and needs help with getting it sorted. General building work. Shelves, counters, some gardening (inc wall building). Nothing too specialised although if you are a qualified plumber or electrician then all the better :)

1 - 4 people (I have 2 spare bedrooms): free accomodation in exchange for a couple of hours a day help (or 4 hours every other day). For people interested in making art, the studio will be avaiable.

DO NOT expect wonderous views or peace and quiet :) But the Peak district is nearby. There are buses to Alton Towers, and Stoke has a large and growing arts community and an established ceramics industry (Spode, Wedgwood etc).

Initially for 2 weeks, maybe longer. From mid september

Hi,

I am currently in the middle of a renovation project so looking for tradesmen to help out.

I live in an apartment that's part of a large converted victorian house on a beautiful road just a few minutes walk from the town centre.

Looking for:

- Painter / decorators
- Carpenters
- Electricians
- Loft conversion builders
- Plumbers
- Plasterers

Location:

Harpenden is a beautiful town in the county of Hertfordshire, England. Harpenden is a commuter town, with a direct rail connection through Central London. 26 mins to central London.

A notable feature of Harpenden is its abundant parks and commons. The central area of Harpenden, known locally as "the village" is characterised by Church Green, Leyton Green and the High Street Greens, which give the town its provincial feel.

We offer a community apple juicing service. 90% of all apples in private gardens fall and go to waste. People bring their apples to us - similar to the village olive presses around the Mediterranean. We wash, press, pasteurise (keeps for 12 + months) into glass bottles and print the customer's house name on the label. Village schools, community groups, fundraising networks also gather fruit local, bring us a batch load which we press altogether and and print their name and logo on the label. We charge a fee per bottle - discounted for groups so they can sell on to raise funds. We are busy August to Christmas - the process is very labour intensive - we would love help for at least 4 weeks. You will learn about many apple varieties, how to make and preserve apple juice, also pears and making cordial from stone fruits. The work is quite physical, moving boxes of apples or bottles of juice around. Lots of customer contact - please be smiley and positive. We are on the edge of an ancie... more inside

We have a 3 bedroom house with garden front and back, we need someone to do some painting and decorating indoors and some gardening and landscaping outdoors. Hours to work per day are open for discussion, we are a 30-40 minute walk from the centre of Plymouth and there is a regular bus from the end of our road, so a very convenient location for anyone wanting to explore Plymouth and surrounding area. We will provide an evening meal and you will have access to food for breakfast and lunch. We will try to accommodate any dietary requirements. We have recently done up our spare room which has a double bed so could have a single person or couple stay.
