Hi.. I have a warm, south-facing half acre, designed using permaculture principles, with a large organic garden, composting loo, fruit trees, ponds and an artesian well. I live in a wooden cabin and there is a caravan with basic cooking facilities, electricity and a wood-burning stove.

This is the heart of West Cork, so there is plenty of clean air, mountains and rivers. The nearest town is 7 miles away and has good buses if you want to explore. I usually go out once or twice a week to local markets and you're welcome to come along.

I'm an English native and TEFL trained, so if you're coming to improve your English, this is a good spot.

I'm not commercial, so there's no set time-table, but I do like to keep weekends free if possible. Work is relaxed and focused around the weather and seasons. General jobs include gardening.. planting, weeding, watering and general maintenance.. painting, wooding etc.

The food is basically vegetarian, local and organic if possible, with... more inside

We are a family of 5. Three school going kids aged 15, 10 & 6 and Mum & Dad who work in music broadcasting & PR. And, of course Louis - our friendly Basset Hound. We occasionally need an extra pair of hands to work on various projects in the garden & house. Starting in September, we require someone to help with the 2 younger children after school, some cooking & housework.
We are situated in the beautiful heritage town of Ballina Killaloe http://www.killaloeballina.ie/, on the banks of the River Shannon & Lough Derg, 30mins to the Burren and 20mins from Limerick city.
The area is renowned for outdoor activities with beautiful walks, hikes, forests, lake activities, horseriding, biking etc..
We can offer our canadian canoe with life-jackets and bicycles & helmets for our helpers.
I am a keen homecook and I prepare interesting dishes for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
High speed wifi.

I have a large walled garden that is in it's second year of planting with veggies and fruit after lying dormant for some years. It is always in need of care and attention and developing more of the beds. Aside from that I work from my home workshop building boats and there may be the odd project around that.

There is one bedroom free in the house for one or two people.
