We run a holiday village / country club located in the Charente / Dordogne countryside, about one and a half hours from Bordeaux. We are looking for one or more people to help with some general gardening and maintenance over the winter. There may also be other bits and pieces in the bar or the office, depending on how it works out. No particular skills are necessary, but it is essential that you are happy working with others, both as part of a team and keeping our guests happy during their stay.

In return, we can offer you accommodation, meals, a drink allowance, plus use of all of our facilities including, tennis, golf, table tennis, basketball, swimming pool (apart from the winter months!), cycling, boules etc... including a fair amount of free time to make the most of your time here. The local football team is also in need of some talent if you've got any!

We would welcome people on their own, but due to a hectic workload and family life, cannot be on hand for socialising... more inside

We run a boutique guest house in this beautiful and rural part of South West France. We're looking for hard working, easy going people to assist and contribute to general DIY and gardening. There is much work also to be done in the house and anyone with the following skills is particularly welcome
* Gardening
* Artist
* Plumbing/electrics
* Carpenter

We are happy for people with these skills or a great work ethic and enthusiasm to learn to assist us. We would be particularly keen on hosting a couple or chaps travelling alone or in pairs- we need strong hands!
Generous meals provided on working days and all helpers will be housed in one of our comfortable and warm bed and breakfast rooms. Our house is secluded so own transport would be a major bonus , however we are happy once or twice a week to offer lifts to the station and you would be welcome to hop in with us to the shops etc. Bordeaux and St Emilion are both less than an hour away. We are looking for cheerful people to help generally in the organic garden. Our helper must like animals and especially dogs and be used to getting their hands dirty! Gardening skills would be an advantage but not essential as I'm happy to teach.

We are Guardian's of a large Manoir on over 4 hectares of ground with woodlands, organic garden/sheep and chickens and are also renovating our own farmhouse an hour's drive away, at weekends.

Both places are in very rural, beautiful locations. I would be taking regular trips to town and the beaches in good weather. I have dogs and enjoy walking. Our helper/s would be invited to join us when we go out for coffee or walks. I am also happy to drop them off at the station or take them into town a couple of times a week.
We have a healthy diet, we don't eat alot of meat (free range only) so catering for vegetarians is no problem.
Our helper/s would have their own en-suite room with wi-fi and TV for films but we do not have general T... more inside

I left the UK about ten years ago and after travelling, working and helpxing all over the world (see my helpx and Couchsurfing profiles a for details) I have decided to set up a base in the south of France. I speak English and very basic French. The situation might suite someone for a few days as they pass by or someone looking for somewhere to hole up for longer...

All jobs relate to converting a couple of barns and garden/field near La Salvetat sur Agout in the Haut-Languedoc Natural Park in the south of France. The property is to be a home and is not a working business. Friends and family visit occasionally but mostly I'm working on the project alone. There is a lot to do requiring a variety of abilities, so you are welcome whether you have skills to bring or just want to experience something new. I'll list the jobs at the end and add and subtract as things progress...

The immediate area is mixed forest dotted with lakes and crossed with walking routes and mountain bike ... more inside

After several years travelling around the globe to ride and photograph horses, we decided to set up our own horse farm in one of the most surprising valley of Southern France. Everything still has to be done, from building the parcs, to renovating the traditional farmhouse buildings, educating horses, finding new riding tracks, identifying the local flora or building our social networks on and off line... !
We want to make this place special, the ideal place to practice and learn about horses, natural horsemanship, and horse travelling.

We are a family based farm : Gwladys and Jeremy, the owners, our daughter, Maktoub the dog, Cookie the cat, three hens and 12 horses and ponies at the moment to take care of...

We always have a room for 1 or 2 persons to join our project for a few weeks or months. As noticed above, there are multiple types of tasks to do at the farm whatever your core competences are.

You will find a decent accomodation and good food in exchange of your he... more inside

Hello !
We live in a beautiful organic farm in south east of france, in a forest area.

I do organic vegetables, chicken to do eggs, and I begin to plant trees and germinated seeds.
There is a small camp for helpers with caravanes, and independant accomodations (kitchen, bathroom).

We try to live in a sustainable way trying to create a resilient ecosystem.
I specify that whe have only dry toilettes on the farm !

For work, I ask for 4 or 5 hours (that depends of the day) of help per day from tuesday to saturday, but it's flexible !

There is a river on the farm, big forest to walk, we are at 3 kms of the town, and we are two persons who lives here, Léon my son (7) et I.
But also, there are 2 dogs, and 7 cats.

Come to exchange knowledge and skills , it's the way to grow ourselves !
So, if you like this, join us for a happy community time and learn about organic farming !
