We live on a farm in Laguna which is in the lower Hunter Valley. Laguna is 1.45hrs from Sydney and only a 40 minute drive to Pokolbin which is the main wine growing region in the Hunter Valley.
We have horses and two friendly dogs. We also run a hospitality business called the Great Northern Trading Post.
We are looking for enthusiastic helpers to work on both properties. Skills in farm maintenance/gardening, food preparation/kitchen hand, cleaning, customer service and possibly child care (Jack is 2.5) are desirable but not essential. Helpers must speak good English.
We offer separate living quarters, pool and a vehicle. We provide all meals, these will be a mixture of shared meals at home and from our GNTP's kitchen- all delicious, fresh, healthy food!
This is a great opportunity to work on a rural property and to be a part of a small business which is the centre of our fun and caring, Aussie community.
John and I look forward to hearing from you!
Rosa

Our beautiful piece of paradise is nestled in a community covering 300 acres of sub-tropical rainforest with abundant wildlife, somewhere in between Uki, Kyogle, Lismore and Nimbin (Northern Rivers). We are surrounded by stunning national parks and nearby swimming holes (see photo) and less than an hour to the beach. There are plenty of stunning walks for those who love hiking, with spectacular scenes across the caldera to Mt Warning. This is a great base to explore the area.

The small hippy town of Nimbin is 25 minutes away and has a fabulous farmers market each week with lots of organic and local produce. Lismore is the nearest city which is a 45 min drive and has all the usual attractions and services.

Hubby and I live in a wooden cabin amongst the gum trees. It has a separate studio for guests/helpers, plus a veggie patch. We live as chemical-free as possible, we use natural products in day to day life as well as for renovating and prefer to eat organic food. We are... more inside

ABOUT US
We are a fun-loving family, and have our kids (15 & 17) with us half the time. You’ll be staying with an artist/writer, and an architect/builder, who are well-travelled with a broad range of interests. We're looking for cultural exchange and having fun together. The most important thing is that you leave with a smile, and an Australian family experience. When time permits, we like going bush and showing visitors our favourite secret places away from the tourist trail.

LOCATION
Our home is a large “mountains cottage” on Shipley Plateau, just outside of Blackheath village in the beautiful Blue Mountains. Close to bushwalks, rock-climbing crags, and down the road from the spectacular Hargraves and Mount Blackheath escarpment lookouts. We are a 5 minute drive, or ˝ hour walk, from Blackheath cafes and shops.
