The Isle of Man is a beautiful and unusual place. An independant celtic island, it's got tons of history, views, wildlife and coastline. I'm 38 and have a 18yr old agroforestry project.. fruit and nut trees, forest garden etc. Accomodation includes a gypsy caravan and turf roofed cabin, both with woodburners. There's a hot shower, compost loo, 12V electric and mains water so it's comfortable. Nearest bus 10 mins walk, nearest town 20 mins on a bike. Nearest beach 10 mins on a bike.
I am part of a 'spread out' community so our collective skills are many.. Growing food, green woodwork, yurt-making, spinning, weaving and natural dyes. Music, dancing, alternative building and technology. Help needed with these as well as maintanence and creativity all year.
Hours of work are flexible depending on whether you are camping / self-catering / catered for and what facilities are required. For example, a minimum of 1 or 2 days and a maximum of 4 or 5 days per week. I usually only do a six ... more inside

We are also landscaping and planting the land to try and restore it to an attractive and functional site. We do not need any more help at the moment, Thank you for the enquiries! 1/3/2016

Hello, we are a family of five Jess Will Ayrton Gideon and Stella. We live in Cornwall near Liskeard and 15 minutes to the coast and the moors. Will runs a tourist attraction and we live in a house that we designed and built (with builders!) last year. The tourist attraction is in a beautiful flooded quarry and we offer lots of rides and activities and swimming too. I want to convert the caravans that we lived in last year while the build was in progress into a holiday let and really need some help to make this happen.
We would like to host a couple or two friends who don't mind sharing a room for up to three weeks. We would like you to come in February if possible! There will be lots to clean paint garden and mend and on days off there are lots of interesting local places to visit and explore. We hope you will be able to relax with us as well and have fun getting stuck into our family life.

General garden / outside maintenance and some hard landscaping (just concrete block).

Only Ian and I live at the property. We have a separate studio flat which can be used - has a double bed, kitchen, lounge area, wifi, television, shower room - fully equipped. Meals can often be provided.

45 minutes by train to London. Winchester city is 30 minutes by train. Reading is the nearest large town.

Sherfield on Loddon is a small village with a shop, hairdressers, Post Office and a couple of pubs. To bike to the village (can be provided) from Mole End takes 20 minutes. There is a bus service from the village to Basingstoke which is a good shopping centre with banks etc.

Our large house is set in the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, made famous by 19th century landscape painter John Constable. Also one of the driest areas of the UK!
I am looking for help in March to prepare for my daughter's wedding in early April. This would involve gardening, some light housework, ironing and perhaps some simple cooking.
The household consists of Lyn, who manages the house and garden, husband Colin, who works from home so is often around during the day and Colin's mother Marjorie who enjoys meeting all our helpers. Accommodation is in your own room with a sitting room and bathroom. Meals are taken as part of the family using our own produce as much as possible. We grow the majority of our vegetables, fruit and salad as well as raising pigs and sheep for meat. We also have chickens. We only accept non-smokers.

We are a seasonal bicycle hire business based in three separate locations (Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay) in Kent UK (1hr 20 mins from London). We offer good accommodation right on the beach at Whitstable, plus meals (shared cooking). The post would suit a couple, or two people willing to live at close quarters. Volunteers will be responsible for: hiring bikes in the morning (mainly pre-booked customers) and receiving returned bikes in the afternoon; basic bike preparation/cleaning/maintenance duties (training given); taking bookings answering emails and entering details into the computer system. We have not used volunteers before but have experienced the volunteer process first hand after extensive travels in Central America! We are ideally placed to provide a great volunteer experience for anyone wishing to explore the UK and Europe (Dover 20 mins away, for crossings to mainland Europe).
