Small B&B with 2 pied à terre apartments (you would stay in one of them...see photo number 5; 2 single beds in bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room) in house in hilltop village in SW France, midway between Montauban and Cahors. I have 2 cats and 2 dogs so you need to like animals!
Now on my own, could do with some help around the house...DIY, gardening, painting, spring cleaning etc etc off season.
Appeared in “4 in a bed” (and won!) in 2011.
You would have plenty of free time and could be as independent as you like...
Fluent French speaker and teach English so could help with either your English OR French! River 4 km away for swimming when hot and need to cool off and pretty local villages to visit; always something happening be it vide greniers, markets or live bands...
Active member of 2 local associations: one expat ladies (better than it sounds!) and an ecological/environmental one (all French except me!) so quite a few activities with them

My name is Catherine, and I am english living in a very beautiful part of the pyrenees. I bought a near ruin of a farmhouse twelve years and have been renovating it ever since.A labour of love. There is still more to do and I want to extend the garden to make a organic garden to give my children vitamins! Up until now I have being doing alot of work myself alongside my ex husband, but have slowed down a bit with mothering. If you are interested in stonewalling, general decorating work and creating a vegetable garden, it may suit you. Also the surrounding area is very beautiful for walking, nature and skiing in the winter. There is a small bread house across the garden which
would be your bedroom and bathroom so a bit of privacy.

Hello,
If you want to give a hand making hay and helping in the garden, you are very welcome!
We are two Germans in the end of our fifties living an organic farm with 60 goats, an old horse and some cats, a big vegetable garden, mountain prairies and homemade bread (most of our food is produced at the farm) in the Pyrenees Orientales (capital: Perpignan) at 800 meters above sea-level. The last piece of road leading to the farm is a dirt road going steeply uphill. 5 families are living here. The next small village is 1 km away, the next small town with shops and a train station is at 13 km distance. Christian is working with kinesiology as well. About 6 hours of work per day, 2 days free per week, lodging in a trailer with a wood stove, bathroom and Internet access in the house nearby. We speak German, French, English, a little Russian and Spanish.

Update Summer 2018: Help needed this summer, gardening, creating veggie plots and creating river access.

In late 2013 we bought a property on the banks of the River Aveyron in the gorgeous Tarn region. It's relatively modern (built in the 1970's as a summer holiday home) but was in need of some conversion and improvement for all year occupation and an extension. All of this has now been achieved with the hard work of our wonderful helpers from near and far! Next to do is some tidying of the outside areas and the creation of a 'beach' area by the river. Your help would be required for 25/30 hours per week, please. General handyman skills would be fantastic but strong biceps and a 'can-do' attitude are all we really need. Gardening know-how would be great too.

During your stay with us you will live either with us in our house or in our 3.5metre Yurt pitched at the end of our garden on the riverbank, where you can enjoy complete peace and quiet, apart from regular visits from... more inside

we live in a Small two bedroom cottage in beautiful Rural countryside in the Dordogne. We have a small garden. Although we have a field that needs mowing but use a ride on mower for that
We are a retired coup!e with aching limbs and find we can no longer do all the general maintenance needed around the place. That said, thankfully We are not yet in our dotage.
We have a old dog and a hobo cat. Our neighbours have pigs, sheep and chickens
This area is Very quiet except for July and August in the high tourist season
Friendly French, Dutch and English neighbours
No nightlife but rich in history and numerous sites to visit
Near by there is canoeing, petanque, bars and cafes and spectacular walks in and around the area. And the vezere river is safe to swim in.
We would be willing to take you to visit a town or touristic place should you wish
We require general help with our garden a little digging out and weeding. Cleaning windows and
staining shutter etc

We've been renovating and converting a huge barn using natural materials and reusing the original materials where possible.
We are situated in the heart of the forest in the Perigord Natural Park 4km from nearest town, which is lively and beautiful. If you want to be totally immersed in nature and appreciate the wildlife, this is the place for you.
Currently we need help with gardening, cleaning, maybe cooking and someone to build a brick barbecue (unless you could make one from an oil barrel.)
If you have a tent or camper van, great. If not we can provide beds.
There is a lot of work to be done outsidje like repairs to roof, moving stones, clearing ground, making drainage, levelling, fencing and extending the vegetable plot. The ground has been left unattended for many years but we have made a start planting fruit trees and started a veggie plot using the principles of Permaculture. Julia has done the permaculture certificate and would be happy to pass on what I know. We liv... more inside

Helper needed May 2018. We may host a very few times each year. We are mostly interested in meeting foodies and people interested in viticulture. We are interested in cultural exchange: learning about children education and food habit in your country. Cooking one of your favorite recipes would be great. This is a tiny wine estate, in the build up stage. You can help us with daily tasks - weeding, pruning, planting, labelling, cooking, baby sitting, writing blogs, making videos, taking pictures, creating content. (3 days / 6 mornings/afternoons a week).

Our place is perfect if you travel with your bike and wish to cycle around (either road bike or mountain bike). We can host you in a separate appartment upstairs from our's.

The three of us inhabit a farm building in a quiet 1600-inhabitant-township, half an hour drive from Strasbourg and Germany. The place can be reached with public transportations and more easily by car or by bike. We do not work on sundays. We'll provide food... more inside
