Current Helpx requirements - for March/April 2018.

At the moment I am 'attempting' a huge clear-out of my unwanted household items including an attic full of outgrown children's clothes and toys....it's not going well and I need help!

I'm looking for someone who is very organised and methodical, self-motivated and experienced in listing and selling items on ebay. A good standard of written English will be required.

I also need somebody to look after 'Jeffrey the cat' during the Easter holidays as I plan to go away at some point.

Summer months: I'm always needing help in the garden; weeding, mowing lawn, trimming hedges and creepers, jet washing patios etc.

Painting and decorating skills would be useful, as well as simple DIY and basic maintenance:

(Bricklaying skills would be amazing as a brick built pizza oven and BBQ is a project that could be undertaken later on in the summer if someone has experience in doing this sort of thing ..?)

You would be expec... more inside

We are a family home in a village in Oxfordshire. Both parents work, two children (10yrs and 13yrs) living at home and one son (17yrs) away at school and a dog (black Labrador). We are based near Banbury and Oxford, on the edge of the Cotswolds, nearby sights also include Blenheim Palace and Stratford-upon-Avon.There is public transport to all the local towns/Oxford - as well as a good number of pubs + shops in the village. We have a double bedroom with en-suite available for a HelpX guest. The help we need consists of a variety of household help: we need to do some decluttering and sorting out/clearing cupboards and organising. We'd love someone to help create a stylish pallet wall along the back of our garden + help bring our garden to life (0.3 of an acre). Happy to flex on other cultural exchanges with the children - cooking, board games, conversations about other countries, dog walks etc. My husband runs a classic car restoration business and I work from home in a log cabin i... more inside

Our General 'live in' volunteering programme is currently on hold in 2018. We are reviewing our Volunteering Programme across the organisations to ensure exciting, supported opportunities in the future. You are welcome to message us but we do not currently have any live volunteering opportunities.

Our lodge, 'a place to grow', is a former Victorian hunting Lodge built in the 1850s and set in 52 acres of beautiful mixed woods at the foot of Tinto Hill, near Biggar in Southern Scotland. The Lodge is in a remote rural location 15 minutes by car to the nearest shops. Our residential outdoor centre provides an 'emotionally secure' environment in which young people and vulnerable adults undertake Personal, Social and Emotional Development through experiential outdoor challenge activities, nature connections and the creative arts. We also welcome many diverse self programming groups. Our food is renowned, homemade and tasty. It is ethically and locally sourced.

We are looking for help with developing a large garden and woodland glade including hard landscaping, cultivation and maintenance, about 25 hours help per week per guest.
We have two spare rooms in our thatched house. Guests would share a bathroom and take meals with us as part of the family. Most of the time just myself and my husband are at home, occasionally one of our two children visit.
We live four miles from the nearest village, have bicycles which can be borrowed and there is a bus to local towns which passes close to the house. We would enjoy introducing guests to this rural agricultural, beautiful area.

I have a large house in St Leonards on Sea, a seaside town, close to Hastings - 1066 country! I have been recently widowed, have a grown up family, and a brother with Special Needs, he is a great part of my life.
I am a vegetarian, a non smoker, kind and patient. I would like help around the house and garden, and any jobs that need doing.
I am a Nutritional Therapist I give good advice and run a Natural Health Clinic in Battle (and a PA, with web skills in Reception, would be great). I happily support other therapists to practice.
I have 2+ acres with a small wood in Battle – I grow organically, there is plenty of manure! The ability to tell a plant from a weed is very useful, lessons can be given!
There is always work to be done. A lot of DIY - and always ongoing maintenance, plenty of wood collecting etc for wood burners.
I am a good networker, I sing in a choir and have recently started Yoga, I like Country Dancing and Barn Dances, although I don’t go very often. I am k... more inside

February 2018 UPDATE: I am looking for someone to stay for 2 weeks, anytime from now to the end of April.

Small cottage on the South Downs, 8 miles north of Brighton.
Very beautiful rural location with lovely walks along the Downs.

PLEASE NOTE: this is a small residential home and NOT a farm or smallholding.

The cottage and garden need renovation. Help is required in the garden; some digging would be involved as well as plenty of weeding, cutting back, clearing of rubbish, mowing lawns and planting. Anyone interested? I also need someone who can paint and decorate the interior of the cottage; these skills would be very helpful. Those with building experience would also be most welcome.

4 FULL day’s work with 3 days off, in return for accommodation, evening meals, and possibly some sightseeing. Preferably 10 days to two weeks, however, I would consider longer stays for the right person (or couple). I am happy to help with English lessons if required. The ... more inside

We are also working on the kitchen garden and need to start preparing plants etc in the greenhouse.
We have a restaurant serving evening meals and weekend lunches
We are a family run business and have a number of staff, we all live on-site with our children, pets and horses.
We have a farm on the Gower Peninsula (15 minute walk away from the beach) and are about half an hours drive from Swansea.
We live in a lovely rural area but it is rural. You will need to get public transport to get around or walk. The help will be 5 days a week, either mornings, days or evenings but no more than 5 hours a day. This covers your accommodation in a large static carava... more inside
