Tucked away in the heart of the beautiful French countryside we are an Irish/French couple who are converting our old 300+ house. We have the main house completed but still need help with decoration (painting, wallpapering etc), some mason/building/carpentry and also help in the gardens. Due to this nature of work the house often finds itself dusty so housekeeping is also something we are looking for.

We are located close to Bayeux and within driving distance to the Normandy beaches, we are a peaceful location and its ideal for anyone looking for a real sense of rural Normandy. Our house is a real stay in history, having being built in 1711 as a Presbytery, then becoming the village school from the late 1700's to WWII when it became a German headquarters, it was liberated by the US 2nd Infantry Division and was restored again as a village school until the beginning of the 1960's when it closed its doors forever... many ghosts run through this old building.

Our home comes co... more inside

We live in the midst of the D-Day landing beaches in Normandy in an ex-dairy farm. We've renovated several of the buildings and we're still working on our house. Mainly we're looking for someone to help take care of garden, grounds, possibly to help with renovation projects. If you've got building skills, that's a real plus. You might also be asked to walk the dogs or cook a meal or clean. We're pretty flexible and hope you will be too. We are rural, so it's best if you have your own vehicle. It would be really good to have a couple or a pair of friends.

You'll have a 2-bedroom nicely-renovated cottage to stay in. It has wi-fi and TV and is very comfortable. There's a kitchen in the cottage, so you can cook for yourself or you can eat/cook with us. I am a teacher and my husband is "retired," which means he is working full-time on our project. We have a son who is studying agriculture, and a passel of animals.

We are located in the heart of the D Day Landings & National Park in Normandy France...we're looking to host a couple or someone on their own to help us for a couple of weeks...light tasks, some painting & decorating (not much more touching up), getting the Llamas & Alpacas ready for winter with a muck out and fresh straw down plus one already lead trained & we need to bring on Esme. A bit of a tidy in the gardens a few bushes trimmed back perhaps a hand with the lavender crop

We've 4 little dogs, 8 rescue cats, couple of sheep, couple of goats, 2 turkeys, a goose and lots of chickens as well as the 2 Llamas & 3 Alpacas.

Surrounded by history here, Utah Beach is a 10 minute drive away, Ste Mere Eglise 4 miles away, Bayeux 40 minute drive or 30 minutes on the train and beautiful fishing ports along the coast to include Barfleur where William the Conqueror set sail from.

Anytime, especially now we are nearing the end of the season - we don't mind a couple or someone on their... more inside

Accommodation available for one person or a couple with a passion for gardening
My home is in a beautiful area of Normandy, on the west coast of the Cotentin Peninsula (opposite the Channel Islands), which has miles of sandy beaches and excellent water sport facilities (sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing, kayak / canoe etc )

I am mainly looking for help in the garden ... could be quite physical.

'Work' time could be organised around tide times so that you could benefit from the sea as much as possible if that is where your interests lie. This is also a great place for history and culture, as well as plenty of other activities including horse riding and walking.

Having your own transport is an advantage, but there are bikes available.

This is an historic ornamental parkland estate with small organic farm. We regularly open to the public and interest groups.

We are looking for long and short term visitors to stay and help the resident gardener with the development of this historic site.

There are also opportunities to earn income by helping with the self catering cottages business if desired

This is an opportunity to help the host renovate and look after Airbnb guests in the heart of Normandy. Ideally the person should be able to stay longer term but short term help is also needed and have their own transportation as house is 2km from the village or about 8km from a supermarket.
The accommodation when there are guests staying at the is house is basic. Just a sleeping space and the share of the kitchen and bathroom. However, when there are no guests the volunteer can use the main house. There is currently no internet at the property but that will be part of the improvements for the house in the near future
The helper will also be expected to help in the renovation of the property and to begin creating vegetable gardens, and soft fruit enclosures.

This opportunity will suit some one who is respectful and trustworthy. They will be living in a beautiful part of Normandy. It would be a good situation for a couple but single helpers are welcome also.
