You will find us nestled in the bush 30kms east of Whangarei at Pataua North. The river is at the end of our driveway perfect for fishing and kayaking. The surf beach is an easy 7kms away and we have surf boards and kayaks available to use. Working with us is mainly weeding and potting plants in our plant nursery located on our property and helping out at the Whangarei Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Generally work is 4 hours per day but help in the kitchen is always appreciated. We have a cabin available with a small bedroom containing single bunk beds and its own shower and kitchenette, or there is an option to stay in a room in the house. We are a married couple with 3 teenage children who come and go and a small dog.

Our wee rural Croft is situated on the Tutukaka Coast, outside of Whangarei; surrounded by pastures, paddock, and bush; with plenty of walking tracks out the back gate and a string of beaches starting a 5-minute drive down the hill. We aim for sustainability and a low impact footprint on the land.
We have raised bed gardens, terraces, orchards, ducks in the pond, chickens and 2 young dogs, a sacred grove, native bush, and a babbling brook.
Accommodation may be a sleep out, the boat house, a room in the main house or a yurt. Must be happy to work independently on specific jobs.

There is always something to do here and we could use some help: skills, and knowledge with
- carpentry, painting, gardening, cooking, cleaning and animal upkeep, gardening and landscaping.
- One yurt is up, two to go and finish out with mud brick courtyard, landscaping, toilet block, etc.
- If you would like to experience the wild NZ bush whilst learning how to trap Possums there is an opportunity h... more inside

We would love a couple to spend time with us for a week or so to get some of the jobs done - have a look below at what we are needing done. The jobs are reasonably physical but we can provide a variety so not doing one thing all the time. Plus we have a swimming pool to cool off and the beach not too far away. We have had some wonderful couples staying with us and would welcome them all back.
Only 80 minutes from Auckland, it's often a great first or second stop letting you work out your travel plans from here. We live in a semi rural location with a water view and are within 10 minute walk to shops and cafes and less than 5 minute drive to the surf beach and estuary. My husband, Robbie, and I live here with our 14 year old, very friendly, black labrador, Rosie. Mangawhai Heads is on the east coast 80 minutes north of Auckland and 50 minutes south of Whangarei.
We have a modern caravan to provide helpers with private accommodation but to join in with us for family meals and are... more inside

We would love some helpers for times February/March 2020 open to negotiation on dates.

Our family farm is located in Parua Bay 2min walk to the beach with great swimming, fishing, kayaking and bush walks. The Farm is very family orientated with 3 children and 2 dogs, the farm is run by the family and has 3 houses.

We currently need help with Farm duties mostly tasks like weeding the extensive native plantings and doing weed control, preparing firewood. The work can be physically demanding at times.

We would like helpers for aprox 1 week with the possibility of extending if required, we would like couples as we work during the day and find it can be lonely for just one person.

Look forward to hearing from you and sharing beautiful Whangarei Heads adventures.
Paul, Hanna and family

We have a 800 acre dairy/beef farm approx 30 minutes south west of Whangarei. Our farm is divided up into 3 dairy units which has three cowsheds all milking 160 cows. Pete and I look after the home farm with a son-n-law and son on the other two.
We are keen recreational horse riders and have four horses. Ideally we are looking for someone who can ride and work comfortably with horses and would be happy to help out with light farm duties. We can offer excellent accommodation with its own bathroom. Waiotira is 30 minutes from beautiful beaches and walks. We are a friendly busy family and would love you to join us.
