I have just started Pouakai farm, with a goal to supply produce to my local area. Really early days in this venture, but things are happening fast!! Keen to find people interested in helping me develop this idea. It's kind of like a 2 acre blank canvas really. Contact me if you think you may be interested in helping, and enjoying life in this vibrant community of okato.

Hi there. We are a busy family of seven, living on a dairy farm in rural Taranaki. Historically, we've hosted au pairs while our children were little and really enjoyed having people visiting/staying with us, and getting to know other cultures. Now that our children are all at school, we are keen to keep hosting people. In return for three or four hours work a day, we can offer accommodation and meals. Depending on the time of year, you might be helping on the farm, doing some general maintenance, helping with the kids after school or in the holidays, or doing some gardening. There'll always be some time for exploring our beautiful region!

Hi there,

We are situated in the Taranaki Village of Inglewood.

Please inquire about vacancies from 5 May 2017 as the rooms will be ready by then.

We Sonny & Birgit have a house in Inglewood, Taranaki. It is not a farm! Helpers will assist with gardening, weeding, landscaping, carpentry, painting, food preparation, cooking, cleaning, tidying & housework. Our house is a bit chaotic downstairs as renovation & building work is underway. You will be staying upstairs so we need YOUR help to keep it clean and tidy! Work hours depend on what is needed for you to do, so you must be flexible, but you will work an average of four hours a day.

We can arrange and pay for an uber to collect/deliver you to/from Airport or Bus Depot in New Plymouth if no one is available to pick you up. You will be rewarded with good food which you will help prepare, a comfy bed and good company.

SMOKERS ok but no smoking inside house or balcony. Absolutely No drugs or excessive alcohol consumption ... more inside

Kiaora! Naumai haere mai! Greetings! Welcome! We are a small family working and living on the coast, 30minutes south of New Plymouth.

Our house was once an accomodation that used to serve an observatory that was surrounded by pine trees. It is now a home that is situated on Surf Highway 45, near Cape Egmont Light house and many top surf breaks such as Stent Road. It is also in close proximity to Parihaka and set amongst the many lahars from the amazing volcanic landscape.

The approx 2 acres (0.8 hectares) is currently being developed to provide a more sustainable living environment. We have planted 100's of native Plantings to create shelter belts and different microclimates to promote an inviting environment for native birds and bees. We have a large vegetable garden and pockets of orchard/fruit trees such as feijoas, apples, tamarillos peaches and citrus. We are creating paddocks for grazing and currently have a pond in the making.

It is home to free range chickens, a... more inside

Hi, we are Tim and Shannon, 30 somethings with two kindy age children. We live on a small working dairy farm 14km (15min drive) from the center of New Plymouth.

We are relaxed, open minded people who have travelled extensively, always enjoy meeting new people and are always looking to get the most out of life.

We have a lovely 3 bedroom house with an office/spare room where we would welcome either a single traveller or a couple for short term (up to a week) stays. With views of the ranges, the ocean and the magnificent Mount Taranaki this really is our slice of paradise.

We can offer you an authentic Kiwi lifestyle experience through our work on the farm, day to day lifestyle, loving family atmosphere and enjoyable company :) We have SkyTV, Wifi, great home cooking, plenty of outdoor space, 120 cows and a cat named Bungs :)

Shannon is a work from home travel agent and Tim takes care of the farm. We are in and out of town quite frequently but having your own wheels ... more inside

We have recently taken over a country pub which is primarily accommodation, bar and grill. We are looking for friendly faces to soak in the good vibes and give them back out. If you are a musician we would love you here. We are by the sea and a popular holiday spot so summer will be busy. We can provide you with all the necessities, adventure gear and the occasional guide. There is heaps of adventure and exploring to do in the area with heaps of caves, rivers, reefs and bush. There are also many farmers who are keen for a hand with the odd job and to show the traveler the Kiwi way of life. This is a great small community and has a lot to offer. Hope to hear from you soon, Sean.
